A bunch teenagers being thrown onto a mysterious space ship, and they found out their way surviving. Trust, betrayal, friendship, angst shown under various situations. They were 11 deals only with internal conflicts, being a 90 min movie a lot development has to be cut short. Also rewatchability is a bit low when you get spoiled at the end resolution. Infinite Ryvius being a 26 episode TV series, has a lot of time to develop its plot, and characters, despite the casts are huge. Teens in this series have to deal with outsider attacking and internal conflicts, so the story seems fuller than They were 11.

Both shows are adaptations from the video games. Both are mainly mecha shows with some comedy elements which don't require too much thinking and you just sit back and enjoy them. Both shows have the earth-mars independent from each other, while relations not exactly peaceful. Both shows feature veteran seiyuu Houko Kuwashima as the main female character. Make sure watching ZOE OVA before the TV series recommended here. Plot wise ZOE is better, while Mars Daybreak has some more memorable characters. Both shows are somewhat underrated.

Plot wise (esp sci-fi elements), these two shows are somewhat similar: both shows start with main character wakes up in a vastly different and dangerous environment than the place they used to live. Through the course, they gradually adapts to it and learns the skills to live. Later, some organizations revealed that both main characters have the special ability that they need for mankind to survive the future. In the end, those shady organizations got out of control and destroyed by their own creation, the main characters end up living in the planet they adapt to. Also both shows mainly have two parts, either a different focus in Blue Gender or a time skip in Jyu-Oh-Sei, where the two parts are quite different from the previous part. Blue Gender is geared towards male viewer with strong mecha and military element, while Jyu-Oh-Sei is more towards female viewer with some dramas and more appealing character design. Both shows also touch upon the subject of birth and life.
