The reason I, and I assume a lot of other people, watch sports anime is to first get introduced to the sport itself. We usually have an idea of what the sport is about but the rules, positioning and strategies within them requires delving into deeper research. Or you could just watch the anime.
Kabaddi is a niche sport so I was surprised it got an adaption. You learn how the game is played through the protagonist, Yoigoshi.
He's never even heard of the sport just like a lot of us so you can relate in that way where you're putting yourself in his shoes and finding
...
out about Kabaddi for the first time. But that stops when you realise he's got talent for sports in general meaning he becomes one of the strongest players in the game almost immediately.
However, that's not because he's born with insane genetics or really high intelligence. Its because he's the type to never want to lose in anything. He'll take on almost any challenge and he will suck at it at first. But over time you see him improve at a relatively fast rate just by sheer will of not wanting to lose and quickly learning from his mistakes.
I've personally never been in a position where I wouldn't give up on being better than everyone who's playing a certain sport as I've never had the patience to, so I can't really tell you how realistic Yoigoshi's situation is. Though I can say, that just like most sports anime I've watched and enjoyed, its always inspiring to see people try their hardest. It makes me want to try in becoming better in whatever it is that interests me in the present moment.
As I mentioned in my opening statement I watch sports anime to first get introduced to the sport itself, which usually takes around the first couple of episodes. Second, is to watch the characters grow and to me this is the make or break of whether I should keep watching. This is the reason why I stopped watching Hanebado. It had weird, crappy and unrealistic character development and story that I just stopped watching before I started hating the show.
Thankfully, I'm enjoying the characters' progression throughout this show. They're learning how to play at a high level, step-by-step, and at the same time teaching me about game mechanics as well as creating suspenseful clutch situations that plays out in a logical manner. I would say this is the basis of creating a good sports anime/manga. Not only did this lead to my enjoyment of the show but it also made me appreciate Kabaddi itself.
I started watching real-life Kabaddi videos for a while and even though its not as suspenseful as the show makes it out to be, it still got me interested in watching more games. There were times where I would watch the real games and get confused as to how a team got a point, only for this to be explained at a later episode of the show.
Finding out about it in this way was kind of comforting. It showed that there were more rules and strategies to explore and exploit, mistakes and losses to overcome. And this would lead to the further building of relationships between characters and their own personal growth, that I feel like Shakunetsu Kabaddi could run for a long while.

I don't understand why this show doesn't have 'Comedy' in its genre list because this is by far one of the funniest anime of the season.
The whole story is about a self proclaimed god in the form of a little girl warning the
protagonist that the world will end in 30 days.
So she grants him what seems to be supernatural luck and help until then. This ends up becoming the root of the comedy within the show with our guy getting into peculiar situations and the banter between the two is so well written that it always gives me a laugh.
This is one of
...
the most enjoyable comedy anime I've seen in a while so no surprise that I very much recommend it.

Don't bother watching this movie even if you have or haven't seen Gantz before. I particularly liked the TV anime and this just shows you why it HAS to be a TV show because I did not care at all for any other character even the protagonist because he's so damn one dimensional. In fact everyone else are just one dimensional side characters that don't even build an emotional connection with the viewer.
Suffice to say I really, REALLY disliked this show. After the first 15-20 minutes I had to start using a Bullsh*t counter to see how much of it is soooo stupid, as in
...
the choices that each character makes. The top bullsh*t which occured multiple times was the, 'but your brother needs you' and the protagonist was like, 'that's why I have to do this!' which made no sense at all. In total I ended up with about 15 but there were could've been more had I started earlier.
**SPOILER**
Lastly, I really despise the protagonist. Like how many f*cking times do you have to die?

I had high expectations for this anime ever since I watched the Suzu speaking English video which by the way was really funny.
Seitokai Yakuindomo was ruined by excessive sex jokes that became totally redundant after episode 2-3 but I stuck with the show as I was a little bit hopeful that I might see more like the Suzu video in terms of humour but no.
It was funny at first but after that only the occassional laughs were left here and there just by the reactions of characters. You know the anime lost its charm whenever the laughs are from the rarely funny reactions instead of
...
the actual jokes.
The characters were basically copy and paste for those who made sex jokes as that was somewhat their main focus: to make sex jokes every single scene. And the show is basically made up of these sex-crazed characters except for Suzu and Tsuda who are the best characters (if at all) because they don't just think of something dirty to say all the time.
Since this is a slice of life show (a crappy one on that front too) there really isn't much of a story here. For these kind of shows its the characters that are the stories themselves; how they evolve throughout the anime and how they interact after a while of knowing each other. There was none of that here, you could literally watch the anime back to front and it really wouldn't make much of a difference. No one became memorable enough that I could remember their names, hence the lack of names in this review.
This really would have been a 4 if not for the likeable art style and great soundtrack. I managed to put up with this show because of these factors and as I mentioned before, the occasional laughs. It was almost a pain to watch this show so I won't be watching the sequels.
Of course this is just my opinion and I am into sex jokes, done right, considering Gintama is my favourite anime. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone who hates excessive jokes of the same type and poor character development.

I actually enjoyed this anime's first 3-4 episodes. To be honest, this would've made a better Slice of life with powers than having the actualy story. I mean it is just terrible. The plot was okay, generic but still okay but the plot elements and execution were retarded. I mean the monsters are seriously out of place from the art style.
First off, you have this girl who I really liked then they just turn her into (SLIGHT SPOILER) a panty wearing assassin. She actually looks like a dominatrix at that point.
The highest score I gave was the Characters (8) since I genuinely find their interactions
...
interesting and funny. If the characters were built upon more i.e if this was stretched to 24+ episodes I could have cared about the plot let alone the characters.
The characters had somewhat interesting background but was never really expanded on. Each consecutive episode that built up characters was done for one character per episode and this style doesn't really feel natural. It felt like...
...This anime was rushed, no it was rushed. Like Akame ga Kill but worse because the story went so quick that I stopped caring about the characters. The main plot was the focus on later episode which is basically Kotarou and Kagari, Gaia and Guardian, and I really didn't care if everyone died anymore because I just didn't feel any sense of loss from any of them. It was about saving the world now.
The art style and background were okay but the CG was awful. Sound did good and fitted with the theme for each scene. But I can't enjoy this if the story is awfully set out.
*SPOILERS*
I'd just like to point out the Kotarou has 0 balls by not being able to save everyone. I mean why couldn't you have just- I won't get into it but it's so annoying.
*END OF SPOILERS*
I usually research about the ending of anime and see people's thoughts on it but this was soo bad that I didn't even bother. Not bad as in because something bad/sad happens but bad as in 'this doesn't make any sense but it's no longer worth my time' bad.

Weirdly amazing is the only way I could describe this show which is why I'm writing about it for my first review. It's weird because I never get hyped for the next episode unlike other shows but when I watch it I feel calm and relaxed, and after finishing each episode I'm always left in a good mood making it amazing.
Story: 8
This anime doesn't really have a main storyline but it's how the characters, mainly Tanaka, deal with everyday life and events hence being a Slice of Life show. Because of the great characters the story for each episode doesn't fall out of place. I
...
guess the only progression you'd find is how Tanaka finds measures in becoming more and more listless no matter the situation and its fun just to watch him try.
Art: 9
The art style is simple yet aesthetically pleasing which fits right in the show. The simplicity creates an atmosphere that personifies Tanaka's personality. It was well thought out and is beautiful to watch at least from my perspective.
Sound: 9
The music also fits right in being 'lazy-like' and calm. You could probably even use the OST for your sleep playlist.
Now the OP is pretty good, it being the only OP that I don't skip for each episode this season which is saying something.
The actors did a good job in portraying their characters especially Tanaka's VA who really captured what a listless person would be like.
Character: 10
These characters are the most original I've seen in a while except for Miyano (the hyper-active, child-like dwarf) and Echizen (a tsundere in a way) but those are supporting characters and they're what make this show more interesting since Tanaka interacts with a flip-side version of him.
Tanaka himself is very creative when it comes to looking for ways to becoming more and more listless and Ohta is an obliging person who always takes care of Tanaka but sometimes misunderstands situations. This basically tells you that the show can be quite funny at times.
Enjoyment: 10
The characters' interactions with each other are enjoyable to watch especially the main characters. You don't really feel as if you need more after each episode since there isn't a storyline as I've mentioned before but when a new episode comes out you'll always have the need to watch it.
Knowing that this show is over makes me want more, ironically. I usually just expect new episodes to appear sometime each week but since there aren't any I can't help but miss it.
Each episode is like a dose of relaxation that you need each week; almost like a drug taken in moderation. It is a masterpiece in its own right.
