Ah, FT x Rave. As a Mashima fan, this OVA has gotten me quite excited, although I watched it late due to my busy schedule. OTL
Now, let's start with my review. (I'm sorry if my writing is lame orz)
FT x Rave is a crossover OVA of two of Hiro Mashima's popular works, Fairy Tail and Groove Adventure Rave, both having quite different plots, but quite similar characters, both in looks and personalities.
STORY (7) - The story is pretty bland and rather too typical. I've seen it too much in Fairy Tail, its getting rather boring. But since its only an OVA to reintroduce the characters
...
of Mashima's previous work, I guess it's not really much of a big deal. Although it would have been better if it had a memorable plot.
ART (10) - The art is GREAT. I think the animation got a lot better here in this OVA than in Fairy Tail, and hopefully they'll continue it on FT's second season, 'cause I swear, it would be a LOT more fun to watch. AND, let's appreciate how HOT Haru is in Mashima's improved art style. X3 (and ofc the other Rave charas too XD)
SOUND (8) - Music was ok, they used the same OP and ED from the previous FT OVA, which was again, an ok. (Apparently I am no good at critiquing anime osts sorry orz)
Character (8) - Characters, oh the characters. Well let's not expect much from the Fairy Tail characters. They're all the same as usually with their funny personalities. Natsu, being his wild and hotheaded self, Gray, stripping, Lucy and her loud mouth, Erza beating everyone up, Wendy and Charle being cute, Juvia fangirling as always and Happy being, well Happy.
The Rave characters didn't change much either. (but I'm not sure 'cause my memory's foggy-) Ellie's still an airhead, Musica's still an egoistic hottie, and the other characters I actually kinda forgot how they acted orz. Haru was a little bit different from what I remember though. I think he was more carefree and less mature? (But I'm not sure, please correct me if I'm wrong. OH AND HE ALSO BECAME HOTTER /shot)
Enjoyment (8) - Well, the OVA didn't disappoint me despite how lame the plot was. The comedy kind of paid it off anyway, plus ofc the Rave characters presence and their interaction with the Fairy Tail characters gave me the feel of excitement. The only thing I didn't enjoy was (as always) the pointless fanservice. Well I should be getting used to this because of FT but apparently I haven't. I mean seriously, "Disappearing Panty Bonus"??? Really pointless.
Overall (7) - Well I certainly enjoyed watching this, it's something nice to watch when you're bored and just need a good laugh. If you're not a fan of FT or Rave, I recommend you watch this if you're really bored or have nothing else to do, but to the fans, I'm sure you'll love this, ESP Rave fangirls, 'cause I swear, HARU IS SO HOT HERE. XDD

Mirai Nikki is one of my most favorite animes ever. Mostly 'cause I love gory and psychological animes. This anime was a perfect example of that.
Moving on to the OVA, I expected more of the gore and psychological stuff I loved from the anime. Instead, no blood was even spilled. Nothing that mind blowing. Just a little fanservice and comedic skits.
Sure it was pretty entertaining. I really missed all the characters, especially Yuno and Akise. But nothing was really accomplished. They just confirmed what happened after the events of the last episode of the anime.
Well, it was nice to see that everybody was normal
...
(well maybe except 12th, he was still weird) whereas in the past world, they were all hungry to win the game, of course, with bloodshed. But apparently it felt rushed. We didn't even get to see the other characters such as Marco and Ai (which I really like btw). So overall the OVA was pretty entertaining with lots of comedy and slight fluff but didn't really give me the same "feel" when I watched anime.

I'm supposed to be studying right now but whatever.
Okay, unlike the majority of the reviews, I actually liked Red Data Girl. It's surprising 'cause I'm easily influenced by the reviews here on MAL. Before I watch an anime or read a manga, I always check MAL and read the reviews so as to see if it the said anime/manga is worth it.
But before I read the reviews on RDG, I watched a few episodes of it. And well, I really liked it. I think the best factor that got me hooked into the anime was the art (and maybe Miyuki /shot xD) and also the
...
theme. I always loved Japan and since the theme was about Japanese culture, I got myself interested.
Then around the middle of the anime, I got confused. (Yes, just like all of you who watched) Everything was going too fast and nobody was explaining things at all. So, just in case I wasn't the only one, I checked the MAL reviews on this anime. I wasn't surprised to see negative reviews everywhere. All complaining about the same thing I was complaining about. I was a bit discouraged to watch after reading all of the reviews, but when the next episode came out, I still watched it and even finished. :D
Sure there were so many unanswered questions but I think the anime was good enough. Although, it should've had more episodes so they could've at least explained some stuff.
Okay, let's talk about the characters now.
I really liked Miyuki's character development. (And I also really like Miyuki X3) He started of as the lean and mean bully who seemed to hate the world so much he'd rather jump of a cliff. But around the end of the anime, he started to warm up to Suzuhara. (*squeals*) xD
The other characters were okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. Suzuhara was the typical shy girl who struggles to become stronger in the end. Mayura, Manatsu and Masumi were cute, but again, they weren't very interesting. (Masumi got my attention a little bit tho. HE WAS SO CUTE IN THE END)
Music was good. I'm not good with critiquing sounds lol but I really liked the bg music and also the music when Suzuhara dances. :3
Okay so overall, I really liked RDG and if you're into Japanese culture, fantasy and the likes, then this is the anime for you. ;)
But if you're an impatient person and if you don't like getting confused, then I don't think you'll like this anime at all.

When the preview for this anime came out, I practically fangirled like crazy because I played the game version of this. I actually didn't finish it because I didn't like spoilers, so I decided to finish the anime before I continue playing. I seriously thought it would be awesome. The first game was pretty nice and I expected the anime of the second game to be just as good. BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. Most of the characters were lame, story was predictable, and everything was just plain boring. Seriously, Hibiki's actions are SUUUUUPPPERRRR predictable, I had to fast forward the anime just so I
...
can see if I'm right. And I was. Boy was I let down.
They should've animated the first one instead. The storyline and premise were better in DS1. It got the "survivor" part quite well and it was also much darker than DS2.
Gave it a 5 because OP and ED were cool.
