It's weird, it's fun. I like it.
Like its predecessor, Progressive does a fantastic job of establishing mood and telling a story in a disjointed, dream-like style. I've only seen it once, but the story events and motives behind the characters seemed a lot more comprehensible compared to OG FLCL.
But, compared to the original, Progressive is a lot weaker when it comes to its visuals-- scene composition, character design and animation quality are all a little lacking compared to last time. That said, I don't think it's any worse than any other mid-high quality anime from the past few years.
Unfortunately, the insert songs from
...
The Pillows don't hit as hard either, which I assume is a combination of poor, lackluster editing and The Pillows' music showing its age. The selections from The Pillows are still good, but the music is hardly a character/place the way it was in the original.
But overall, the humor is on point and the characters are a lot more likeable compared to the previous cast. This is a fun, energetic follow-up to the original, a popcorn and gummie fish kind of show. The English VA of manic pixie dream douche Haruhara Haruko is a treasure and it was a blast to hear her do her thing again. The rest of the cast was great too, with a special shout-out to Hidomi's VA. The new "maid" character was great, in my opinion, and was extremely likeable despite how awkward it might have been to add a character with her story background.
Overall, it has a lot of flaws, but I consider it a fun watch. I suspect it could have been a cult favorite if it didn't have such big shoes to fill. It definitely stands apart from the crowd. Worth the time it took to watch.

I'll level with you- this movie is boring as fuck. I've been trying to get through Ghost in the Shell since I was 11. I'm 26 now. I still fall asleep every time. With the exception of the action scenes and opening credits, I can't say that this film is worth watching.
The delivery of the story leaves a lot to be desired. The scene structure is, essentially:
-> Gorgeous animated sequence that ends too quickly
-> Characters giving long, monotonous explanations of things that would have been better represented through gorgeous animation sequences, or at least not through what is essentially "radio"
-> Rinse, repeat
I know anime
...
doesn't grow on trees and there are budgets, but it takes a lot away from the experience of the film when so much of it consists of talking heads. There's almost no characterization to speak of, and those sequences are all the more excruciating because of it.
I get that strong characterization is not the point, but the concepts that form the foundation of the film are kind of trite and not interesting enough to carry a story on their own.
I understand and appreciate the historical significance of this film, but I'd say save yourself some trouble and just watch clips on youtube and read the synopsis.

This show has everything you could ask for in an anime: FRIENDSHIP, ROMANCE, HUMOR, ACTION, SUSPENSE, TRAGIC BACKSTORIES...everything!
It starts off slow relative to where it ends up at, but I found it enjoyable the whole way through. I watched the show in English, and in it, the characters are hilarious and adorable. It seems that the writer paid a lot of attention to getting their banter to work just right (Alternate title for this series could literally be Banter: The Animation) and as long as the humor clicks for you, you should have fun watching this series. Although, if the humor doesn't jive with you,
...
this show might wind up driving you insane as the jokes literally. never. stop. as the role of "comic relief character" is filled by the leading man (at least when things aren't getting too serious).
Other than that, I think the animation style is really good. It's closer to, say, a Ghost in the Shell or a Paranoia Agent rather than a moe Haruhi or Angel Beats or what have you. The character designs are cute but have a naturalistic look to them. Every place they visit looks like somewhere you could go, although the show's palette does use a helluva lot of brown. The characters can make some unintentionally weird/scary/off-model faces now and then, but that's nothing new for anime. Try not to look too hard?
One of the other great things about this show is that it's not weird or perverted in the way a lot of other animes are, which makes it easier to share. I would recommend this show to anyone who likes sci-fi, humor, romances and series that can strike a balance between fun as well as serious and sad moments.

It's about a lonely little girl with no friends who prays to heaven for some company. One day, she wakes up one day to find a devil baby in her bed. It's now her duty to raise the little guy up. Along the way, she's able to become closer to acquaintances she already has and make new friends at the daycare for demon children that helps her take care of the baby.
As you are aware, the premise of this anime is completely ridiculous, but that's kind of the point. It is a fantasy about playing house with a magic baby.
This show has a sweet animation
...
style ala other shoujo animes like Fruits Basket and Kodomo no Omocha. Like a sitcom, the characters and story-lines are sweet, simple, humorous and light-hearted. This anime is easy to watch and is good to put on when you're looking to zone out and relax. The episodes are only 5 minutes long.
I've only seen about a fifth of the episodes so far, but I always enjoy this one when I watch.
