I held off watching a lot of Ghibli movies until later on in life, and somehow I'm really glad I did.
I love the charm of an old Ghibli movie, the art, the feel, and especially the music for this movie, I've always been and always will be a big fan of it all!
But I didn't expect to relate to the film like I did.
The show isn't just a story of a girl on an adventure, the story speaks about the many phases in life that one might go through. From being alone far from home, leaving family behind, to watching your best friend move on
...
to a new phase of life, Kiki's story revolves around change and growth, and how sometimes you're just never prepared for the twist and turns of life. When you think you have it all figured out, suddenly you lose the thing that made you, you. Then, you find yourself again and realize that there is more to who you are than you know. Things like how a little kindness goes a long way, and how sometimes you're just meant to be where you are in life. Although things may not always go the way you want them to, or how sometimes you can't really explain WHY you feel the way you feel, things take time to fall in place, and I love how the movie portrays these things.
At the end of the day, the world is a big place, and there are all sorts of people out there, some may like you, some may not, but just by being yourself and being kind towards others, you may find yourself meeting people that will eventually come to love you for who you are!
A movie that will always remind me that change will always be a constant in life, for better or for worse, and that's what makes life so beautiful!
