So, the manga just finished (apart from an extra) and I chose it to be my first review, because it's my favorite of the ones being published at the moment, and if you want a comfort casual romance with a lot of cute moments and true friendship, I absolutely recommend you to read it.
The manga starts off as another teaser like Takagi, but as the chapters flow, the series develops its own identity through the feelings of the characters and the interactions between all of them.
Now, the review:
Story: It's a bit hard to give a number for something that doesn't plan to have a rolercoaster
...
of a story, it's just daily lives, with cute and funny interactions between the characters and romantic feelings developing. Yet, there's the part in which the mob protagonist starts to be more like a protagonist of his own story, and it's amazing to see that, so I'm giving this an 8.5/10.
Characters: One thing I absolutely love about this manga is not having a single side character that's a waste, you don't have to develop them with lots of plot twists, but you give them space, interactions and build their personality, they're usually lovely with each other but everyone has quirks. 10/10.
Art: If there's something that really hooked me in this series at first, it was the artstyle. There's lots of beautifully drawn pages, but what I'm also talking about is the art resources: being able to change between the normal characters and chibi versions in a scene can give it more charm and even make it funnier, also I'd like to give Kubo the trophy of poutest pout of the story, her whole family has talent for that.
I'll give this a 10/10, it's a hit or miss for most people, maybe you won't get past the teasing phase or maybe the protagonist is too forgettable at first, but to me, this is my favourite friendship building in manga, the lack of serious conflict between them might be unreal, but that also makes it my comfort story, there's so many problems in real life that you might want something that'll give you diabetes without going through suffering.
Thanks to Nene Yukimori for this masterpiece!
