This is not a manga that will make you think or have a deep impact on your life, and that's perfectly fine. The mangaka isn't trying to do any of those things. Uemura is a good boy is a simple story about a boy who meets another boy, they have sex and end up catching feelings. It's about 70% erotica, 30% fluff, 0% plot. And it does a great job at that!
The art is very nice and pleasant to look at, the spicy scenes are veeeeeeery spicy, both characters are likeable enough and have good chemistry together, and it's overall just very cute and
...
enjoyable. Sometimes one just wants to read something spicy but wholesome and sweet, and this is a great manga for that.

One Room Angel is a beautiful, bittersweet story about finding the will to live even when life sucks, and wanting to become a better person for the people that you love.
It's short, but very impactful. Both characters are very well fleshed out and, despite being a one-volume manga, it's easy to care about them. Their dynamics are really touching at times while really fun at some moments too and the story focuses a lot on their bond and how they can help each other but, even though it is a BL, I think it can be enjoyed even by people who typically don't like
...
romance.
The story is very well written and, while it deals with a lot of hard, dark topics such as suicide or bullying, it keeps a hopeful tone and doesn't just do drama for the sake of drama. It DOES have sad, tragic moments, and might not be a good manga to read if you're in a bad mental place at the moment, but the overall message is more touching and hopeful than sad.
All in all, a beautifully written manga with gorgeous art that I would recommend to pretty much anyone (unless you really can't handle reading about topics like suicide idealization or bullying), even those who don't really like BL. It really stands out from other mangas, both in the BL genre and overall.

If you want a cute, wholesome BL manga in which the main couple are both adults, you've come to the right place.
Restart wa Tadaima no Ato de tells the story of Mitsuomi, a 25 years old guy who, after being fired from his job in Tokyo, comes back to his hometown in the countryside where he meets Yamato (also 25 years old), the adopted son of the elderly neighbor. The manga focuses on the relationship between Mitsuomi and Yamato and how their feelings for each other slowly transform from friendship into romance, while having plenty of character development for both of them. Mitsuomi struggles with
...
finding his path in life, while Yamato has deep-rooted issues about being abandoned as a child and then adopted as a teenager. Both the characters and the way they navigated their feelings are pretty relatable, and the story is sweet and touching without getting angsty. It's also 100% sfw, so it's a good manga when you feel like reading some sweet BL but are not in the mood for smut.
The art is aesthetically pleasing, very soft but expressive enough, and perfectly matches the tone of the story.
Overall, a good one volume BL manga that I definitely recommend for those who want a sweet, uncomplicated but relatable love story with adult characters.

This manga is not for everyone and some scenes were really hard to read for me, but in the end it was so rewarding that it became one of my favorites. I have read over 200 BL mangas and can't remember half of them, but I'm sure I'll remember Boys Love! for a long time, because it really stands out from other BL. It starts with a really typical premise that makes it seem like it's gonna be the same love triangle story that's already been told thousands of times, and then it deviates from it.
The character dynamics are really good, and the love between
...
them seems very real, some scenes really convey the tenderness between them and how much they care for each other. The personalities of the three main characters are well fleshed out too, and it's easy to care for them and whish them a happy ending.
Now big trigger warnings that this manga contains explicit rape scenes (between one of the main characters and someone else), sexual molestation of a child, and parental abuse of different kids. Some scenes might make some people really uncomfortable, but if you are ok reading that kind of content then it's a remarkable BL that deviates from the standard in many ways.

This one is for the lovers of slow burn.
Achira Kochira Bokura tells the story of two classmates with very different personalities (one introverted and shy, other extroverted and charismatic) who befriend each other against the odds. As a slice of life, there's not a lot going on in terms of plot, focusing mainly on their school life, their struggles with university entrance exams, their relationship with other classmates and above all it shows how the relationship between the two main characters slowly grows and changes and how they change with it. The romance and character development are subtle but very present, and it feels like
...
they develop very naturally.
Since this was originally published as a seinen and not a BL (although since then it has been republished under a BL label), the romance is more subdued than in the average BL, and it avoids many tropes typical of BL, so in that sense, it feels quite fresh. The artstyle is also very unique.
It's a realistic and sweet story that was really enjoyable to read, and I think it's very relatable to anyone who has found themselves developing romantic feelings for a friend.

If you're looking for a sports anime with a lot of focus on rugby and intense rugby matches that will have you at the edge of your seat, then I suggest you look somewhere else. But if you want a fun, uncomplicated anime about attractive college guys who occasionally play rugby, then you came to the right place.
Number24 is not an innovative anime, not deviating much from the tropes included in many similar anime from the past decade. It follows the members of an university rubgy club, showing the personal motivations and insecurities of the characters, as well and the interactions and conflict between them.
...
Like many similar anime, it suffers from a weak plot (some episodes are completely all over the place in this regard) and the pacing is a bit of a mess. Also like many similar anime, it has waaay too many characters for a one cour anime, wasting time on trying to tell everyone's story instead of focusing more on the main characters and their stories. However, Number24 is one of the most enjoyable "pretty boys anime" I've watched.
The main characters are well fleshed out, with distinct personalities and motivations, and undergo positive development and growth. Natsusa is a really fun protagonist and his character arc of getting into terms with the fact that he can't play rugby anymore (not a spoiler, we're told this on the first 10 minutes) and trying to make the best out of his new circumstances was pretty touching and inspiring. It's also nice that the anime focuses a lot on the managers and showcases how much they help the team. The other four main characters (Yuu, Sei, Ibuki and Yasunari) all are very endearing, having their own character arcs, and all the secondaries are pretty fun. The dynamics between the characters are really fun, and if you enjoy having lots of ship teasing, you'll like this.
Imo the humor was also pretty fun, with some moments that legit had me laughing out loud, so even if the plot goes nowhere and the pacing was quite slow, this anime never bored me. The rugby scenes, while scarce, were in general exciting enough, especially in the last two episodes, and you don't need to have the slightest clue about rugby to enjoy them. The music is nice enough too, with three different EDS that alternate.
The acting was also pretty good overall, with some really well known names such as Saitou Souma (who plays a really fun character and does a great job) or Ishikawa Kaito.
In summary, if you're looking for some sports anime in the same fashion as haikyuu, you're going to be severely disappointed. But if you're looking for an anime more in the style of prince of stride or cheer danshi (but better than those imo) with likeable male characters and plenty of shippy fanservice and shirtless guys, then you'll probably have a good time with this.

If you like omegaverse BL mangas but are tired of the stereotypical helpless omegas and overly possessive rapey alphas, you'll probably like this manga. While still containing a lot of the tropes often depicted in omegaverse, and particularly the BL take of it (such as alphas being "high class" while omegas are looked down upon, alphas preying down on omegas, sudden heats at the worst moment, etc), it's a fresh take on it and it's a more fun read than many omegaverse BL that lean more on the ansgty side. While many other omegaverse BL (at least the ones I've read) focus more on the
...
omega's feelings, I like that this one also focus a lot of the alpha and his feelings regarding the whole crazy pheromones thing.
Both main characters are likeable and have good chemistry, their dynamics are really fun with plenty of cute moments. If you like caring tops and/or buff and assertive bottoms in your BL, you'll like this one. Tsugumi is way more proactive and sure of himself than most omega characters tend to be, which is really refreshing, and his dumbness is quite entertaining, and Megumi is such a great kid that tries to do his best and be responsible, I like him a lot. Tsugumi's parents are also a great couple and really adorable.
The art is overall quite nice and the sex scenes are pretty spicy (and there're plenty of them). In general it's all consensual, tho there's one scene in which they both get overtaken by their hormones and get carried away.
Overall, if you want to read an omegaverse BL that's spicy and fun and doesn't get too angtsy, go for it!

There's already many reviews on this wild ride of an anime, but I would like to add my own, spoiler-free short opinion on whether I think it's worth spending time on it or not.
Before I start, I'd like to say that I like a lot of Trigger's works. Kill La Kill is probably my favorite anime ever, and I've enjoyed others like Space Patrol Luluco, Little Witch Academia or Gridman quite a lot. But I had heard that Darling in the Franxx had caused a lot of polemic as it was airing and I know some of my friends hated it so I watched it
...
with low expectations, just another anime to pass the time that I thought would leave me indifferent. But oh boy. That was an experience.
Objectively, Darling in the Franxx is one of the worst written animes I've ever seen. It feels as if the writers didn't know where they wanted to take the story and were just making decisions on the spot with no prior planning. The setting could have been interesting, but the few bits of world development they give us keep contradicting each other. For example, the main characters supposedly don't know what sex, romance, love, marriage or kisses are, and yet somehow they're extremely body conscious, see nudity in a sexual way and know the meaning of words such as pervert or romantic. How does that make any sense? It feels as if the writers had the potential for a really interesting world setting but threw it out the window for some generic ecchi? The story itself has no cohesion either, it's mainly just things happening with no explanation whatsoever (and when there's an explanation, it tends to be either illogical or contradict the information we had been told previously), with a few occasional very crazy plot twits.
The characters are all plain and underdeveloped, and sometimes their actions and choices make very little sense to the point that it's hard to understand what's going on. There's no real development leading them to do the things they do, and some of their choices are so exaggerated and hard to relate that the dramatic moments seem quite comedic. The only character who acts like a normal person most of the time is Goro, a shame he doesn't get much development either.
Same goes for the villains btw, they're either terrible at being villains or just make a lot of illogical decisions for whatever reasons.
The romance is really poorly written as well, it's just characters deciding they love each other and promising to stay together forever with barely any chemistry between them.
The one thing I did like a lot about this show is the opening, a really nice and catchy song. The voice actors are talented as well, but no amount of talent could distract me from the nonsense that most of the dialogues are.
But, no matter how bad this anime is and how questionable and sexist some of its points are, I can't bring myself to actually hate it. I had fun watching all the ridiculous teen drama and all the weird over the top things happening towards the end. I have no idea what this anime was trying to tell and what the hell did I watch, but it didn't bore me. It was pretty entertaining to see the characters take all these illogical choices, and the infamous over the top teen drama in episode 14 was almost hilarious.
So, in summary, should you watch this anime? If you're the kind of person who likes to watch poorly written shows for the fun of it, then you might find some enjoyment on this. If you want to watch a good anime though, please watch something else. Basically any other mecha show is better than this trainwreck.
