It has these moments where I want to skin myself with a potato peeler, where I just wanted it to be over but I kept saying "Just three more minutes. It's just three more minutes" and then it has these moments where I just kick back and admire the creativity that went into it, where I sat quietly impressed and asked, "Where was this?"
Pop team epic is the kind of show you watch to get cute merch of and feel like you knew what you were talking about. Yes, of course, I hear you screaming over the internet "Gr1m!!! It's a shitpost anime!!!11!11!1" and
...
as much as I understand that it doesn't make it funny. It's honestly just confusing at points and even with my vast knowledge-base of memes, movies, anime, and video games PTE still found a way to perplex me.
Now, there's not much _actual_ content to review here; besides, as I stated before, with things like the hellshake skit and that one running joke with the anime-styled couple? The pop-culture references are funny, don't get me wrong, I got a kick out of the Undertale ones in particular, but that doesn't automatically make the material "funny". There's no plot, no real content, and I'm gonna be honest; For those of you who aren't aware; Netflix plays each of the episodes of Poputepipikku twice per slot, which should say something-
I have to summarize because I'm running out of things to say-; there's so much... yet oh so little to unpack. I feel like I just had a 144-minute long acid/LSD trip, so, all in all? Don't fuc- __sigh__ just, like - if you're gonna watch it, please reconsider. Consider OPM, yknow- I'd much sooner advise you try to watch Boku no pico to get a kick before this if I'm being completely honest here. No, I don't recommend it. No, I don't hate it. It's like starting a dumpsterfire and enjoying watching it. Sure; I'll tell you about it, even show pictures, but I don't advise you to start your own dumpster fire.

Now, I give the series the benefit of the doubt, I have an episode left, but i think i'm far enough to write a review.
I don't tend to review things on here because I see no necessity for it, but I figured I would for this since i have a few things i'd like to say about it. I'll start by explaining my individual ratings.
[Story]
This anime isn't very rooted in the story, and the episodes don't piggy back off of one another, so you cannot truly judge it on this category, as they could have done so
...
much more with it; But if you really only like linear animes and it's difficult for you to enjoy an anime with no storyline, I truly don't suggest this.
[Art, Sound]
There's nothing far too special about these, the art is cute and maintains the fun theme. The sound does the same, i suppose.
[Character]
Now this is what I REALLY wanted to write this review about. This anime is a thousand percent rooted in the characters, and if you can't find enjoyment in them, you won't be capable of enjoying this anime. The whole thing is about their bond, and watching their relationships grow. It's sort of important that you recognize this in order to like the series. This is the kind of anime that you love the fandom for,, it's the kind of anime you're meant to cosplay from, or draw and much less enjoy the original content of, but bond with people who also like the characters, and the concept.
[Enjoyment, Overall]
I Gave nekopara a 8/10 because I think that it's super cute and you can really enjoy the series if you enjoy maid or neko animes. (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

As I write this my phone is dead so I can't finish it yet but i'm 15 minutes into the final episode so I think this review should be fair.
I'll jump right in, since i'm sure you've read at least one or two summaries, or have watched it for yourself. It was awkward to say the VERY least. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and say "eh, they weren't raised as siblings" but it's like meeting your long lost brother and deciding it's appropriate to
...
wanna immediately fuck him, it's weird. I can certainly see character development but every character was incredibly flat, all the way down to the MC, I honestly dont even remember her first name. if she wasn't the only chick, since it's reverse harem, i wouldn't have even remembered she existed. What was with that one brother (the Idol one) and consistently trying to sexually assault the mc??? he had to be my absolute least favorite,,,, and every other guy had a single individual personality trait and the only not so dry character was the youngest one. EVERYONE INCLUDING THE SQUIRREL WAS IN LOVE WITH THE MC? i'M SO? WHAT?
Anyway. I think this anime has sustinence for a hormonal teenage girl, and as one other review said; if you can turn your brain off, you may be able to enjoy it.
