here comes the big surprise: Dangeki Daisy is a interesting and innovative shoujo. Yeah, it was a hell of a surprise to me too - interesting, not cliche shoujo always was an oxymoron :-)
Story: 9/10
The guy is protecting the high school student, who is a neat and smart girl. But it is not a typical shoujo background - the guy has criminal record and is a dangerous hacker, and furthermore has issues with Teru's dead brother. Violent acts, a scheme and mysterious events - it's all there and is somehow connected with Teru and her mysterious guardian, DAISY. his identity is unknown, but only to
...
Teru in fact, the reader all the time is cautious all the time what is going on.
Art 8/10
It's ok, but it is not the style I cherish the most. I hate these pontoon-like lips of the characters on coloured pages!
Charas: 10/10
Now this is something I truly love this manga about. Still staying in those lame shoujo conventions (the 2nd base not reached yet :

Yeah, so it's shoujo. I'm not a huge fan of shoujo, but all these long series are extremely useful when it comes to wasting time effectively (don't you agree?) :-)
It's not waiting for the cockblocks to stop as in josei series (Hapi Mari, we're still waiting in here!). rather, it's the 50th chapter now and they still hadn't made it to the confession moment. but in the meantime you get dragged into the series, even if it isn't good, just to see if they manage to make out or not (although you know they will...)
And Kaichou wa Maid-sama! is exactly this very kind of series.
...
Story: 6
the girl has a double identity, and the only one who discovers the secrets is the main bishie, now what a suprise! :-) and here comes the next suprise: they also start to feel something to each other! and the series drags on like, forever, waiting for some improvement in their relationship.
there are few nice things about the plot. I like Misaki's background, it's realistic and atypical for shoujos. her dislike towards guys and her desperation for work at the cafe are really well motivated. Minus Usui's background, it really does not make much (if any) sense. He is way too ideal, therefore is quite a flat character. It's not _that_ stupid however. It's just all sooo unnaturally stretched in time.
Art: 8
Art is very pleasant. The author had a great idea with the maid café and different dress-up organized there - we see tones of different cute outfits. The characters are drawn in a charming way, it's a pleasure for your eyes to just look at the pictures and enjoy the mangaka's skill, clever outfits and beautiful teenagers (do not confuse with his/her ability of writing interesting dialogues). :-)
Characters: 7
I have quite a problem here, folks. Because of Usui (the main uber-bishounen) it should get three-four. he is drawn nicely, but because of being too perfect it is unbearable to like him. But the maids from the café are fun and interesting, and to some degree so is Misaki. The idiot trio is hilarious! And the figure of Misaki's childhood friend is a nice change - not another ideal bishie, but a simple kid from a farm competing with the main guy. good.
Enjoyment 6
It's quite enjoyable - as a middle-class cliche shoujo is expected to be. Nothing thrilling though. The idiot trio and Misa's colleagues are a funny and enjoyable point of the series. The three otakus are hilarious, but at the same time it is a kind of an indirect critique towards the fandom. I liked it. The scenes between the main characters - playing hide and seek forever. you know it, you've seen it 1903837 times in other shoujos waiting 200 chapters for I love you too+kiss scene :-)
overall: 7-
read if you enjoy shoujo or have some spare time to kill, OR are a fetishist of maid costumes :-))))

when I stumbled upon this manga on OM, I honestly didn't expect much of it. how many mangas are there in the religious/inquisitive/exorcist genres? dozens! but Ao no Exorcist really caught my attention :) there is something that breaks out of the another-exorcist-cliche manga scheme
Story: (9)
It deserves a tenner, but I'm quite a persnickety person when it comes to the storyline. mainly because most of the mangas are almost the same... here, all the motifs (father dies, the protagonist grows up and wants to change, a great scheme, uber powers, demons and from chapter 9 or 10 even some boobs are there as well ;-)).
...
but it is not such a cliche that is expected. Someone from another review said that it is a kind of mixture of bleach and beezelbub - I would add Holy Talker as well.
Art: 8
Nothing to be ashamed of, although I seen more stunning mangas in my life. nothing particular to complain about, except Rin's design when he's in his demon form - k'man, he looks like he was drawn by a five-year-old :< generally: good, but not outstanding
Character: (9)
Characters are definitely a strong point of this manga. The twin brothers, Rin and Yukio are like fire and ice and argue, but deeply care for each other. There is a clumsy yet charming female, diffrent background students and teachers from the true cross academy. But Fujimoto Shirou - this is a masterpiece! it has been a long time since any character made such a positive impression on me. his personality, design... ah, you got to love him even though he does not participate in the events that much (for a certain reason, but no spoilers, sorry! :-)
Enjoyment: (10)
It's extra fun. Even the cliches can't disturb your fun. There are funny moments but also some melancholic. I liked the intertextuality of this manga - e.g. Mephisto Philis. It;s fun to discover some references to other works/culture :-)
Overall: it's a tenner and Ao no Exorcist also lands in my favourites. I really recommend it to anyone.

I gave it a 9 overall
8
Story: the story revolves around 'onmyoukidou' police which fights with demons which haunt the city. Abe is a hard working and kind hearted onmyoukidou.
The world is becoming warped and overrun by demons. One day he meets his new co-worker - a rude girl Yomi and her ninja partner. It's great, a story with an unusual twist.
9
Art: Fine indeed, I have nothing to complain about. I love the way that Abe and Yomi's characters are drawn
Characters: Maybe it's a 9 because of Abe. I miss characters like him: he's 30 so not another 16yrs old brat and is nice
...
and responsible, also his fraternal struggles are shown. Yomi is quite typical - has special powers, rather keeps her secrets to herself, a mysterious figure who turnes out to be someone else...
EnjoymentL: 9
It's so refreshing to read this manga! couple of good ideas, not just cliches.
Overall it's a 9. I recommend it to anyone!

Story 8/10
The story is really great. Despite of containing all the motifs we are used to (affair with another lady which is fake, family problems, the characters ending up in stupid situations because instead of talking to each other they have sex ;-) it is ok. Mainly because of the setting - royal family, prince charming and an average girl.
Art
10/10
EM has a cute and very precise style of her own; one may love it, the other hate it. I'm definitely in the first group. It's a tenner because of the fact that finally the characters don't look as in every other manga drawn by
...
this author.
Charas
7/10
They're cute, well drawn but sadly cliche. the girl is shy, clumsy and inexperienced and never ever does she think twice before getting into another fishy situation. the guy is perverted, good-looking and mean, but as the action develops we discover (suprise suprise) that he is in fact kind-hearted and a cool bishie.
Enjoyment
8/10
definitely fun to read. not too long. has a positive ending :-)

I recommend this to josei lovers, it's labelled shoujo but it has some josei in it:)
