Not a big review, rather its more of a warning. wanna know more about the anime check the synopsis.
TL;DR: a forgettable 30ish wimpy childish human, well developed wholesome cute slime and a boring father figure legendary beast walk into a guild, the guild master says "here is an unimaginable amount of money that you will never see being used in the anime".
The story is extremely slow, this may not impact a normal series that is 1 hour long episode with 12 episodes for 4-6 seasons. or mainstream anime like one piece.
But this is a short anime to increase interest in manga, since
...
anime like this usually doesn't get more than 2 seasons max, the story being this slow impacts the impression on it extremally.
Examples that impacts my personal impressions of the show:-
- The MC has lived in wild dangerous world for almost a year within this season yet he has not progressed as a personality at all, while i understand that some may consider that he is sheltered by fel and thus doesn't have grounds for development. he was summoned into the world not as a child but as a full grown man, as such that expectation does not apply since for the first 5 months in the anime he did not trust fel to protect him fully, what would the average man do in this situation ? either develop the smarts or the muscles or bit of both and with his skill that should be very easily attainable, but no (i forgot his name so we will just call him forgettable) Mr. Forgettable just stays the same wimpy dude for the whole duration of the season even gets scammed more than once.
Personally i don't like overpowered on the first episode and i don't like wimpy forever, i like middle ground something like jobless reincarnation, he is strong but usual checks show that he is not extremely strong just above average, but he focuses on being smart, he learns and he develops, he makes a lot of mistakes doesn't repeat most of them. simply put proper development of character.
- Second point is the plot, there are no hints there is no foreshadowing, i get that everything is basis for wholesome and i love it. but it is a story and it has to end and that usually is hinted at least as a lore.
in here it is not, this is the similar case to blessed by the gods, its a wholesome episode after the other almost no development barely getting a second season and its on a low budget, manga updates are not standard weekly issue so over all i don't see both of them having any proper endings or gaining any further interest besides the initial gimmick that draws people in for the first season.
Conclusion/summary:-
Story:5/10 none so far besides the initial setup.
Characters: barely any that show up for more than 5 min, fel 2 sui 3.5 (most developed char) and MC (Mr. Forgettable) doesn't grow up 5.5/10.
Animation: 10/10 honestly carrying season 1.
soundtrack: 1/10 forgettable
OP/ED: 8.5/10 good time.
