Whew! I just finished watching the final episode, and what a journey. It really did finish strong, and even though some loose threads weren't tied up, it was an enjoyable ending.
The anime starts out really strong, and I would easily give it a 10. However, around the episodes were Saizen stopped subbing Eyeshield, the series started to decline in quality especially with the fillers. However, once the Kanto Tournament starts the series really starts to pick up again, and reminded just how awesome this series is; with the intense stakes and games I couldn't pull myself away.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch
(Anime)
add
One of the more popular animes of recent times, Code Geass definitely deserves the praise it gets, as its one of the most enjoyable shows I've ever watched. I love everything about it, though some things more than others.
Very akin to Death Note, both series feature an intelligent young man, determined to change the world. However, I felt that the main protagonist of Code Geass was a lot more relate-able, and allowed for a deeper connection to Lelouch. Although the story does start off rather slow, it really gets its stride around episode 8, and doesn't let up making Lelouch's exploits very interesting to watch. CLAMP's ... Mar 26, 2012
Death Note

I first watched Death Note on a whim in 2008, and it completely won me over in 2 episodes. It's such a special anime, that is cerebral and cunning. The protagonist and antagonist are just so enjoyable and interesting, its impossible to not be drawn in and watch for hours at a time. They play off each other so well, it really does warrant mention.
Of course, the excellent story is accentuated by the slick animation, and of course the sound. The Voice Acting is among the best of the medium, and really bring life to the characters, even the dub was amazing. All this ... Mar 26, 2012
Gake no Ue no Ponyo

I went into Ponyo knowing nothing about it, and came out pleasantly suprised. It's a simpler movie meant for kids, yet simple doesn't mean bad in this case. It was refreshing to watch a feel good movie, with charming characters and some amazing animation. Since the story isn't inherently complex, the movie makes up for it with characters that win your heart like Souske, and Ponyo. I found the english dub to be quite nice, with people like Matt Dillon, and Liam Neeson providing voices to some of the characters. If you have a chance, check this movie out. You won't be disapoointed.
