**Before diving into this review, I want to address something upfront**: A lot of people tend to compare this show to other popular comedy anime like *Nichijou* or *Azumanga Daioh*. Let me be clear—*Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan* is *nothing* like those shows. Yes, they all fall under the comedy umbrella, but each has its own distinct style of humor. This one is no exception. Humor, by nature, is subjective. Not everyone will find this show funny, and that's completely fine. But it’s unfair to compare it to something it doesn’t resemble.

Now, onto the review itself. This show was quite the ride, and I can confidently say ... I enjoyed it from start to finish. That being said, I do have a few critiques, but let’s start with the positives.

First off, the humor hit all the right notes for me. I found the show hilarious from beginning to end, though some episodes and scenes were definitely stronger than others. The type of humor this show offers is tough to explain—it really leans into being a "brainrot" anime, and that label is well-earned. Expect tons of references to other media, including *Naruto*, *JoJo*, and, oddly enough, even a nod to the Rifleman’s Creed. While the jokes are repetitive (a LOT), I personally found this aspect funny, though I understand it could wear thin for others. The humor is very Japanese in nature, with plenty of running gags—especially about deer—and even a bit of meta-humor sprinkled throughout, which I thought was a clever touch.

As for the technical side, the animation was stellar, and the sound design enhanced the comedic timing beautifully. The character designs are unique, and they really pop on screen. I think many of the characters might be loosely based on animals, judging by their names, though I can’t say for sure. Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the opening theme—it’s an absolute banger!

When it comes to the plot, there isn’t a whole lot to dissect. The show is more about wild, zany antics than a structured narrative. There are some callbacks to previous episodes, which tie into ongoing jokes, and the character development—especially between Nokotan and Koshi—is actually quite surprising. That said, don’t expect too much depth.

Now, onto the things I didn’t like. As I mentioned, the humor starts off strong because it’s fresh and unpredictable, but midway through, the comedy becomes a bit repetitive and easier to predict. That’s not to say it’s no longer funny, but the novelty wears off. Thankfully, the show does occasionally throw in something unexpected to keep things interesting.

One other gripe I have is with the supporting characters. Without giving away spoilers, I’ll just say that some characters don’t get their arcs resolved, leaving loose ends. It feels like they were sidelined as the show went on, which is frustrating.

In conclusion, this show had an impressive impact, especially with its marketing. It has definitely cemented itself as *the* brainrot anime of this era, and the fanbase has really latched onto our deer protagonist, Nokotan. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a season 2 announced soon.

I found this anime to be a enjoyable experience, I would not go as far as to say it was a unique one, the series hits just about every cliché in the book when it comes to these "slice of life cute girl" shows, however I would also say one of the themes of this show is also about breaking clichés, specifically ones about otaku and gyaru. The animation was standard for shows like this, nothing groundbreaking but it looked good and I have no complaints. All of the characters have unique designs and personalities, even the background characters look good! The humor is a ... bit subjective however, it is mostly boob/lewd jokes which some may find to be a little childish, personally I think that the show could have done without so many of them but to each their own. This show is probably best enjoyed by women, due to the nature of the jokes/discussions going on in it, if you are a man then you might not find this show as enjoyable or get some of the humor. overall it was a pretty good experience and if you have an hour or two to spare and want to watch a show about gyaru and lewd jokes then this show is perfect for you!

So I am sitting here writing a review about this show...well there truly is not much to say, there are 12 episodes that are about 3 minutes each. If you saw this show and thought it would be about a railway club and learning about the city of Saitama, then THINK AGAIN. Most of the episodes are NOT about any railways or even the club for that matter. At least in the first show there was stuff about clubs and whatnot but still. Most of the episodes are random shit that makes no sense BUT there are some funny moments and the characters are pretty ... likeable. The animation is by far the worst part of this show, it is so stiff and odd its like watching a corpse on a string move around. the music was alright and the jokes were alright I guess. I would only recommend if you are seriously a big fan of the city of Saitama in japan, I am sure there are tons of those out there, right?, or maybe you want to put yourself through an hour of hard to watch animation and debatably funny jokes. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF JAPANESE RAILWAYS THEN STEER CLEAR.

Is this Anime, A. a show about slot and Pachinko machines as cute anime girls doing cute things or B. a clever way to make the youth of japan get interested in gambling, Probably both! ether way it was a alright show, the animation was really good and I enjoyed the artwork and songs at the beginning. The jokes were amusing and overall it was a pretty good show. Keep in mind the episodes are only 4 minutes long and there are only 12 of them but if you have an hour or so to spare and wanna see some cute slot pachinko girls getting ... up to antics and telling jokes then I for sure recommended this show.
