Watched the Beyblade Burst ss 1 + 2 long ago and now finally finished this season. I just didn't have the motivation to watch this because there is no old characters, nostalgia can be a scary obstacle! Anw, the series kinda suffers from the new format (12min/ep). The duration is technically 26 episodes - half of the normal BB shows. What suffers from this cut is the pacing, story, and characters.
Not many new rivals are introduced, the villains appear out of nowhere and challenge the good guy's crew with an absurd reason like "darkness will consume all, your Beyblade is over" without any background.
...
The story is basically non-existed and just "the protagonist is challenged by random people, process to win different tournaments".
However, there is a really strong cast and strong bond between them (the trio Drum, Delta, Akane), much like the ss 1. Although because of the short duration the staff couldn't do much with them, there are lots of scenes portraying these precious kids support each other. Beyblade Burst is always good at organizing battle to make the protagonist stand out but not OP at the same time, this series is the same. The growth of Drum feels really realistic, emotional when we see how far he has gone in the end.
Although the relationship between Drum and his main rival is average and pretty cliche, they make a great connection with the "real last boss" (not the one I mentioned above). The last boss Gwyn basically is just a kid that never has friend and doesn't realize his wish for making friend with Drum. There is a great irony and contrast in the Drum - Delta - Gwyn: Thanks to Drum, Delta develops to a better person while meeting Drum makes the normal world of Gwyn destroyed and forces him to get out.
The best part of this series would be animation, especially in ep 49 where all the freaking budget just throw in it.
Overall, I enjoy the series for what it is. The characters are cute, battles are good.

A little late for the review for this series? No?
"When every life meets another lifes, something will be born"
Tbh, I watched this one occasionally when it was just released, mostly only for the league. Now I watched the whole series and tried to watch the filler too. Before, I like this series because of Paul (Shinji) and Ash (Satoshi)'s chemistry, but now I like it more and more. And the quote above is really the whole plot of this series.
I am a Pokemon fan for a long time, frankly speaking it would be my whole life, I'm now 18 and I watched it when I
...
was 3. When I grow up I meet lots of friends thanks to this, but a bit lonely since I'm the only girl in the group, ha ha.
Diamond and Pearl surely has improment in the art, but probably nothing compare to other series that time. I watched the sub so the musis is really brilliant, not because of the Op and Ed but because they offen used songs from past series in battle, in training, and it gets you really hyped! I'm not even kidding, the battle with Volkner or Paul, they were so beautifully done with the music. However, the one scene I like was when Grotel just evolved and the song "because the sky was there" started playing when it crying, like, I was almost crying for it too.
I think the more interesting and makes DP unique is Ash and Paul' rivalry. While Gary is also really strong and a jerk, Paul is helly strong and a complete nemesis of Ash. In fact, Paul is a representation of all the gamers who release weak pokemon and catches the strong one, considering IVs and Moves, etc. Paul is trong, but the most interesting thing is his ideal clashes with Ash's. Ironically, his Japanese name means "believe", haha. This is not the battle between weak and strong like Gary and Ash, but a battle of ideals. Also, the fact that Shirona (Cynthia) and Reiji (Paul's brother) comments on their relationship with the phase I quoted makes it even more meaningful. Until now, even with XY, I still love their rivalry the most.
The fillers are also fun, I really like Brock and his Croagust, and LOL at them many times. People say those gags and cliche and boring, but I pwrsonally still like them, though I really hate how Team Rocket just interfere in the battle and stuff, though they make me laugh. And Dawn, oh boy she is the best, I like her even more than Misty - whole existence is for nothing, or May - who sometimes too emotional. Dawn tries her best, and even fight outside the contest many times. I also like how they portrayed Brock as a brother figure, he takes care of the group. Remember the Pachirisu episode? He went to buy medicine and Dawn together with Ash didn't know how to cure the fever and realized they were too dependent on Brock. That was lacking in the recent series with Dento and Clemont.
Also, Ash has so many powerhouses in this series! All of his pokemon evolved except Pikachu and Buizel! I almost thought Buizel would also evolve, but it already breaks the record! That was his most powerful team in the history until now. And with that he meets the plot device Tobia, but who cares? He makes it to the semi final for the first time!
Ash is the most mature in this series with all the interesting strategies. There is also a little plot with Galactic Team with better build up than AquaMagma thing back then, but the ending is kinda unsatisfied.
Overall, as a Pokemon fans I like it the best.

I don't have any interest in soccer, neither having a reason to watch a kiddy anime while I'm, in fact, 17 years old, especially I like the dark, action theme animes instead of sport and light-hearted shows. My first meeting with IE was when someone used Fubuki Fanart as signature and it looked really beautiful ( I was deceived lol). My first thought was "WTF is this, so ridiculous" when watching IE GO. And yet, I was hooked by it, watched the whole IE GO series, and then watched IE. I would say, I love IE more than its sequel.
I didn't expect a sport series
...
has a plot beside "Lettttt's playyyyy gamesssss", and yet, IE proved me wrong in many, many ways, especially the alien Arc, and I was like whatttt. Surprisingly, the arc ended up pretty well with the most reasonable solution that we can get and with all the character developments. The plot is never boring, in fact, you couldn't get bored because of how likable the characters are, how fun the hissatsu are to look at, and how the matchs are not really predictable. I couldn't guess whether the Raimon would win or lose in the Alien Arc, and maybe Raimon actually lost more than won in that arc. However, I think the reason that makes the plot successful is the pacing. The longest match would only be 3 and half episodes, and there would never be a moment that looked like the match just stops for characters to monologue. That is also the factor that makes some sport animes look like they're buying time (Kuroko no Basuke, Yowamuda Pedal, Diamond no Ace...). And yet, in fact, they actually said in the interview that they were buying time by throwing a random match in, but we would never realize (LOL). I also like the fact that the series doesn't treat us like kids, they already say "it's a super-dimensional soccer, and this's how IE world works, deal with it." That's why, even though it's ridiculous, we can accept it, while some serious animes out there, trying to look as realistic as possible, but end up having unrealistic powers (KnB - no, I don't hate it, I have the whole mangas, but it's the best example) and stupid reasons and twists that comes out of thin air (Gunslinger Strator, Valvrave...). IE doesn't treat itself serious, and that's why we can easily accept it later instead of the annoying feeling hanging in our throats. The balance between goody and sad moments is also perfect, it never gets really bitter and makes us hard to swallow, while keeping the depth in characters' personalities.
The most thing I like about the series is the characters, and I can feel a strong connection to somes like Fubuki, Kazemaru, and maybe Hiroto, and sometimes I would just wish I have a friend like Endou, he is like a sunshine to everyone. In a show that have so many characters, you wouldn't expect all of them will have backstories, and yet, in IE, all of them would always have one or at least time to shine, although the story would only focus on certain one, like Fubuki and Hiroto in Alien Arc...This wonderful character developments is thank to the amount of episodes, because it's more effective when it takes long time for them to surpass their fears, like in reality. We can't easily change in such 1 or 2 episodes, like most short-term animes love to portray. Fubuki did take nearly 40 episodes to finally change, and his struggle takes like 10 episodes, continuously trembled and couldn't face soccer direcly. However, the director did a perfect job in expressing his deep fear, and we would never yell at Fubuki "Godarnit get over it already." I was sincerely hoping he would get over his fear somedays soon, and when he finally did, I was really happy, and decided to change myself like him. Also, the character's design are really cool, even though it gets overboard sometimes lol, but at least we can easily recognize who with who.
Music is also a strong part of the series, and I would say the music director did a really great job in inserting the OP and ED in the matchs. Many times, the music make me feel goose bump during the match, when it's not actually that exciting. As expect of one that did the music for many series! The OST are just fun to listen to, and there are some piano songs that really nostagic whenever they're played in sad parts.
The weakness of the series would be its animation, but it never gets really bad as some A-1's shows, so it's okay.

I have read the manga till the latest chapter. Tbh, I don't really remember much about this Arc in the manga, since it was 4 years ago. When I heard about this anime is being released, my reaction is probably like other manga fans: "Wow, I'm glad. But I'm scared". Yes, I was afraid that the legendary A-1 Studio would ruin this series again with their "impressive endings and plot" (I'm looking at you, season 2). However, until this point, I have nothing to complain about it anymore. They are faithful to manga. You don't know how happy I am with this.
To old fans,
...
there is nothing confusing about the plot. To new viewers, I don't think it's so complex that they can't handle. The studio purposed to remind everyone with previous events as a form of Sebastian's introduction or Ciel's dreams, although it's annoying to me sometimes, but I think it's necessary to catch new comers. The first episode is a usual story about daily live of our Earl and his servants. Nothing great to mention about that episode because it's kind of a filler, but it's entertaining enough to sit down and watch and enjoy Sebatian's perfection (lol). First 4 episodes are light and warm with full of comedies when Ciel and Sebastian disguise to join the circus in order to investigate. But in those comedies there are still dark moments and somewhat insane (the kidnapping scene). Then they strike you with a sudden not-expected ep 6 (you will know what I mean) and the cruelty, dark theme starts in ep 7. Ep 7 is like a turning point to its climax.
The animation is great and beyond other seasons so far. Ciel and Sebastian look more like in the manga. The circus scene is great, and the CG they used for that champagne scene is gorgeous! Sadly, the animation drops rapidly, from repeating the tiger's scene, to the point of episode 7. Watching Episode 7 is enough to hurt my eyes, and that is an important ep! You don't need good eyes to catch those clumsy drawing for the children in the eating scene, or the thumbnails of Ciel, Joker, and Sebastian when they are pointing gun and daggers at each other. Ep 8 returns to somewhat good animation. Hopefully they will have enough budget for the last 2 episodes and make it become memorable. I love the last chapter of this Arc in manga so wait for it. It will be even more painful with the voice acting.
The music is good. I love the Opening and Ending. Opening is still by SID and it's so fit with the theme, when the Ending is somewhat sad and irony (the moral behind the Ending is great, also the way it's portrayed). The Opening, when I first watched it, I was like "it looks more like a puppet show than a circus. And yes, it's indeed a puppet show "inside" a circus, as these members are manipulated by "Father". The OST is still a little like the 2 first 2 seasons, with full of creepiness and Latin language songs (?). Although I love it and it fits so well with the story, the variety of song choices are not much and it's kind of boring. They should have some battle intense song when there are...well, battles, instead of the Latin songs.
Overall, I like this show. There are fillers, but they are acceptable. The symbolic is great in this Arc that can make you think. We also know more about 2 Main characters and how much Ciel had gone through. So I insist people to try this out if you like a story that is funny, but dark and has philosophy at the same time. (Also handsome characters, lol)

Okay, so...I never intend to make a review for this, because of how little of time I'm having now; but seeing all the reviews so far are all so bad and mostly don't even pass 5, I need to write one for this.
Let me ask you one question: What's the theme of this anime? Let's stop a moment and think back.
Maybe because of the way it's directed, you lost track of the important messenger that Aoki wants us to understand: What's the cause of war, and how to prevent it.
The show simply shows it to us through the story of 3 main characters: Inaho,
...
Slaine, Asseylum. Inaho believes in his aspect of war "War is the continuation of negotiation, and it only stops when they get what they want", Slaine believes in his aspect of war "War is there because there is someone to go against, and it only stops when that boundary disappear". Asseylum believes that "Peace can be achieved when there is no hatred.'
How to prevent war? The series ended with everything return to 0, with the things that would happen in Ep 1 if Asseylum wasn't assassinated. Because there is no solution yet, to them, and to us in reality. This peace, again, is a false peace. Throughout the story, many parallels to WWII and Cold War have been made, and also many issues that are debated in Japan about their postwar situation, but let's not talk about that, since it would be out of the story.
That's the basic plot of it, and IMO, the anime has done well in what it wants to tell.
The flaw of the anime, but also an unique style of directing, is the "Talk less, show more". We don't know what characters are thinking, we don't know what are their objectives. Everything is so ambiguous, unless you notice everything, the flowers, a tea cup, or a single line. You know the main characters from other characters, from what they say. And like Aoki did say, Slaine is he protagonist of this season, not antagonist, though maybe we see him as one. Why is Slaine interesting? Because out of all people, he is the most hard-to-understand character. He lied everytime, but then it these lies there are truths. Listen to them and the tone of him, figuring out what he really wants is really an art. I understand why people still say "I don't get what's Slaine's plan" even after the ending. Because it was never talked out, it doesn't mean that there wasn't any hint. So I suggest you to watch again. "Poor written", maybe, but it's surely interesting for me to analyze every single stuff.
"Let justice be done, though the heaven falls" - the motto has been done in the series. Because all characters follow their aspects of war, that they made mistakes and eventually they got their consequence. "Justice" here doesn't mean "The right thing", but "The thing that you believe in", whether it's right or wrong.
I don't get why we should compare this series to Guilty Crown, since it's not a train-wreck with the story of "fighting for love" and finished well what it wants to do. And moreover, I don't get why we should compare Slaine to Lelouch, since Lelouch is obviously smarter and all. Slaine can never become Lelouch, because his character is to be the ugly side of war, while Lelouch is the beautiful side of war, though Lelouch's way was really surrealism to me.
Aldnoah.Zero is the story of reality. Whether you like it or not, this's what happening. At least, I think all the characters can start new lives now.

The first thing probably across your mind when seeing the cover would be "How beautiful". Yes, that is also my though whenever I see Aki's work.
Her drawing is artistic, but reading it is also an art as well. This is not a normal, cliche story about "good, loyal servants wants to protect the king". In some aspects, maybe it is, but to me, it's not. Throughout the story, the focus isn't about the voice or the murder, but actually the characters. "Aruosumente" means "Sage's dream", a trial that help a person to foresee the future. However, the main stage is the present, and then the
...
plot is the past. Everything connects to each other. Legna's past, LanteDante's past, Moeran's past, they are connecting and create a line to future, to the answer that Legna seeks in present. The story is about politic, faith, and people' minds. It's complicated, has a lot of philosophy, but that just makes it more interesting.
There is no side character. Everyone has his/her own role and being developed through Legna's POV. The Tarot cards, just like the Sage said, its meaning changes by one's perspective. The viewers can think differently about characters and that also affects how they view the story as well. People can think Lante is a liar, or they can also see Lante as a pitiful boy, or a friendly guy that wants to help Legna. No one other than us judge the characters. Aki gives us hints, makes us decide who we can trust, instead of forcing us to do that.
The only character that hasn't been touched now and is viewed as "purely good" is the King - Alshan. But let me remind you, that's Legna's POV and it's simply because Legna trusts his king and his childhood friend. In Aki's mangas, nobody doesn't have secrets and dark side. The King being kept as innocent is nothing good at all, and we can expect some plot twists coming. Trusting is really an issue in this manga.
Despite the tragedy and lots of philosophys, the humors are great too. The way she draws and describe Legna's character as "stubborn" leads to many funny situation when he interacts with others for the first time. You grow to love him not just because his loyalty, but also his awkwardness and straightforward manner.
I highly recommend it for everyone that wants something new and distinctive. Enjoy it while drinking a cup of tea XD!

I watched 4 seasons without even playing the game in real life, but I do understand the rules and enjoy the fights though. We get new rule for every season, and this one is no exception. Now we get something so dazzling, which is called "Legion MATE". Okay, just the word choice is so weird, and the word "mate" is being repeated again and again whenever characters talk about Aichi - our forgotten protagonist. Well, I'm sure you will get used to it, just like I did.
Please note that this anime, or the whole series, is there for the purpose of promoting cardgame and selling
...
desks in real life. People watch this mostly to know the power of cards instead of reading plain Wikipedia. Thus, the plot of the anime is not something splendid or awesome, it happens to show the cards. Although I'm saying that, I actually enjoy its simple plot. I love how they shift Kai to be protagonist now to make him gain more development, especially after season 3, where he has many problems. His problems is being showed here as well as an element to build up his character. Maybe this season is actually the first time we see him acts like a leader, a friend, and a "mate" of Aichi. We see him struggle to overcome his sin in the previous season, and his interaction with others. However, other characters like Misaki and Kamui are being overshadowed.
The Quatre Knights is not really an interesting gang, but the director at least cares to create the background for every member, though most of them don't make sense at all (Anyway, turning off your brain is the best way to enjoy this anime). As Cardfight on Moon is not magical enough, we have them fighting by Ice and Fire Power like they just come out from Sailor Moon. I don't think it's necessary at all but it doesn't hurt anyone, I guess. We also have a little plot twist with Serra - one of the Knights and Leon and Ren, which I think is a step-up from previous season that I find it rather interesting.
The art is decent enough for a long series like this, though sometime they make such silly mistake like the cards in Damage Zone change magically in the next scene. Some of the animation appears to be great when the characters summon their Ace Cards. The voice acting is great, and their screams are marvelous, I should say.
The Openings don't appeal much to me, but I like the second ending, it gives me warmth. I kind of sympathize with Aichi right now. The OST is plain boring, well, I didn't expect anything from its music anyway. Hopefully I can hear "Believe in my existence" as insert song once again, maybe in the last fight that probably would happen between Kai and Aichi.

I don't know if I have any other score but 8 to judge everything in this anime. It's a good anime, but not outstanding either.
It's a continuation of Hamatora and it picked up things right away after that disturbing ending in season 1. Less comedies and humorous cases, more main plot. Now Art - our friendly, sweet police officer becomes antagonist and ready to kill Nice - our main protagonist anytime. It sounds so cliche, but also entertaining and evokes our curiosity. Although, sometimes I can't help but laugh at Art's action, wanting to kill but running away when he definitely has chance to
...
kill Nice. To me, the characters are easily overshadowed by the conflict, and I could care less about Honey's background or Birthday's background.
The theme is still revolve around "Equality", but now is in the opposite way of season 1. Instead of making people that inferior go higher, we make the superior go down. The plot still has many mysteries, as "Why does Nice not suppose to exist?" and "Why is Art doing this?", there is also a question leftover from season 1 "What did Moral tell Art?". The name of this season means "Reply" so sooner or later, we can get the answers for everything. Episode 9 already answers some, like Hajime's past and the causes for the side effects of Minimum Holders in Cafe Nowhere. There are also interesting plot twists regard Nice and untouched characters as Master and Koneko. It build a bridge to connect season 1 and 2 perfectly, I would say. Also, more deaths and painful moments that somehow makes it so hard to watch.
Season 2 is probably darker, but we also have episode like 8 to soften the mood. And there are still case serve as parodies and sarcasms to anime (Like Hikaru's case - a sarcasm to Harem Anime) that fun to watch.
The characters, though they are somehow plain and uninteresting, they have flaws and easy for the viewers to connect them with themselves. Like Murasaki, who that has power but still feels inferior to Nice and even Art - who has no power at all, and his jealousy comes to an extent that he hits and shoot Art out of control, just to release his anger. These people are not perfect and have two sides.
The music is nice, but nothing is really special. The OST is kind of plain, the Opening is tuny, the Ending is melancholy. The animation is better than season 1, though it lost the unique in coloring and effect of season 1. The only thing I can hate about the animation are those annoying changing scenes every 5 minutes.
So, this is the show that has seriousness and stupidness at the same time. If you want to try something new, try this.

Danball Senki Wars's targets are kids so no wonder that there aren't many people are watching this. However, it's truly a hidden gem that actually has a nice story and deveplopment.
For the story, I give 9. The story starts off very simple: a hot-blooded boy who has a big dream of becoming a pro LBXs player goes to the school and meets his friends. It's very kiddy, but at the same time, you can feel the competition inside the school and its seriousness. It really gives off an armosphere that they are really in War. However, after a douze of episodes, the story starts changing
...
slowly and slowly. Many secrets are revealed, the antagonists appear." What is the purpose of the Second World?" is the biggest question of the series. They start with a simple reason: a simulation to research the method of keeping peace. As the story goes on, the reason changes: To actually keep peace in the real world. Then, many doubts are going on and now it's revealed that they actually use humans to research and make the Second World. Doubts, betrayals and wars are not usually seen in Kid shows, but DBW isn't affraid to put them in its story.
The art, like any other kid shows, is not good. The background is very nice, but the characters sometimes are being drawn carelessly. However, the characters' designs are unique and you can easily recognize who with who.
The sound is really nice. The first opening is really tuny and cheery, just like its fun start. The second opening suddenly changes its tone and it's perfectly fit with the situation they are in. The background songs are unique, especially its battle theme. The second ending, which has 3 main characters sing together, is really gentle and beautiful; it's like you can totally feel their emotion and their dream of peace.
As I say before, the characters are really unique, they have different problems and strenght. Everyone in classroom, even the supporting characters have their time to shine. Arata, the main char, is deveploped well throughout the story. He is hot-blooded, but he still has fear inside him and he doubts himself. Hikaru starts off as an arrogant person, but he changes and believes in his team. Haruki has a fear and regret of the past, but he overcomes it and smiles more. You can't really hate any characters, even the antagonists, because they always give off a feeling that they are doing this for some reasons.
Overall, this is a nice show to refresh yourself from those hard - complicated animes outside. You can enjoy its stupidness, but also enjoy the battle, the strategy and plot twists, not to mention the philosophy hidden in characters' lines (trust me, they are all over the place). It's simple, but not bad. Best kid show I have watched so far.
