An anime placed in an almost militarized society, through the perspective of Ryuko Matoi devoting her current life to avenging her father who was killed and finding the culprit. If I'm being completely honest the beginning of the show was quite a bore. Ryuko felt like almost a marry sue who can defeat whoever she wants and everyone is attracted to her. this show is the how amazing the animation looks, I think that's the main reason I kept watching. But its all worth it around the last couple episodes where it all actually falls in place. I had the fortune of not having this show spoiled for me so finding out the Ryuko and Satsuki were actually sisters made me feel warm inside. I don't like how villainized she is in the beginning but I suppose it all checks out. Even though the first part didn't really draw me in I still love this show because it's just overall super pleasing to look at. And the fact Mako actually has a crush on Ryuko is so cute. Lesbian representation is always good. I laughed at some of the show but the forced cursing kinda overdid it, as well as the amount of just boobs in your face and objectification of women. But men aren't left out and get objectified as well, but its clear what its demographic wants to be. The incest is pretty strange, and uncomfortable but it's a 2013 anime focused on sex appeal. But my criticisms don't take away that show was overall a good watch. Ryuko and Mako better have had that date dammit.
