The series has such an exuberant amount of personality and artistic flair that it takes on a life of its own. Those who enjoy Cannon Busters’ heart and soul would find Samurai Champloo to be entirely unforgettable.

Oban Star-Racers also includes a ragtag team of “buddies” all with their own goals like Cannon Busters. Both do a beautiful job building up the relationships and fearing for their character’s lives.

The stories themselves are hardly similar, but there is an emotional atmosphere in each world's creation through how the characters live and react to situations. Rahxephon is also a "character-driven" story which I highly recommend if you enjoy a female cast that has more depth than just being a potential love interest to the main character.
