This anime just,,, isn't good. A friend of mine showed it to me about 3 or 4 years ago, and I decided to watch it again because I didn't remember what happened at all. I really shouldn't have though. Maybe I'm just sensitive but being someone who is trans this anime didn't sit well with me. The majority of the anime is just shaming the main 3 characters, putting them through abuse, and bashing trans people. There's not much beyond that, that's the only premise. remember laughing at a single joke in this anime. The characters get verbally and physically harassed by fans and their boss, they're constantly being told they'll "Never be as pretty as real women", and even betrayed by past friends who fetishize them in their new bodies. The idea sound good on paper, 3 tough guys pretending to be cute idols. This didn't live up to my expectations at all. I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone, especially another trans person.
Stepping away from the blatant transphobia, the art isn't appealing. There's basically no animation other than lip flaps, just making it a slideshow. It's not like the animation looks rushed or anything, there just isn't any. Characters barely move, even when the main 3 are on stage they just stand there, and it doesn't even look good. The art is very poorly drawn.
The music isn't memorable at all, I can't remember a single song the idols sang. I can't say much about it, the songs are unoriginal to the point I couldn't remember them if I had to.
Overall, I give gokudolls a 2. It isn't the absolute worst thing I've seen, but it's really bad. If you're trans, don't let this anime put you down. There's a ton of shows that portray you better, but this isn't one of them.

Toilet bound Hanako-kun is amazing, easily one of the most beautiful medias I have consumed, and definitely my favorite manga/anime. The art is astonishing, like, super-duper good. As it progresses, you can visually see the improvement from the first (or,,, 0th,,?) book from the newest one. The story is also cool, taking a real-life spooky story and turning it into an amazing and creative story!! Though, at times it can be very sad, but with that, it makes me treasure the happy moments of the manga a lot (even with the few it has)

Kou are only a few examples! Character motives and backstories are incredibly fleshed out, so far at least. Like Tsukasa and Teru.
The manga (I feel) is a lot better than the anime. The anime is good, but the pacing is weird, and I've been waiting for a season 2 for, what, 3 years now?? The manga fixes BOTH of these problems. The timing in the manga is good, and it's WAY ahead of the anime which is perfect for my impatient ass.
The style in the manga also doesn't exactly translate well into animation, which is why I think the manga is actually prettier than the anime. It's lively and expressive and can make me tear up or scream with joy. It's truly beautiful. Like, seriously. The art in this series is breath taking and very unique.
Toilet bound Hanako-kun has changed my life, I hope it changes yours too :3

The show is adorable, as a fan of the games it was really fun to watch what the cast would do in other situations!!! Honestly my only complaint is that they don't have Lammy, I felt like she could've brought some nice moments, and that Parappa didn't even rap like he does in the games :/ Other than that, it's a very cute anime with very cute characters and it is very fun to watch!!!!! The animation is good, the voices match, and there's lots of silly enjoyable moments. I definitely recommend it :3 A lot of the episodes are very nice to watch and

have not only fnnuy but cute moments throughout the whole thing. Also, the intro is adorable and it gets stuck in my head. Overall, I love Parappa and I love the anime, go watch it!!!
