Kiss Him, Not Me - An interesting and good time…if you’re the right audience.
Story: 7
Remember how I said it’s good if you’re the “right audience?” Yeah, this is really where it matters. Essentially, this overweight/obese otaku gets so sad when her favorite character dies that she ends up not eating for a week, causing her to magically lose weight and become pretty. Once she becomes super pretty, hot boys + girl go after her, but she only gets happy when the boys pursuing her have some kind of fanservice moment (or when the other girl joins in on their little fantasy or whatever). If you’re
...
not a big anime fan, this probably sounds mundane. If you are a big anime fan, you’ll probably feel kind of called out (in the amusing way). There’s anime references that you wouldn’t get if you’re not into the anime community as well as situations that only anime fans really find themselves in.
Art: 9
Super pretty art. It’s very vivid and eye-catching. The colors are also very light all the time, making it feel really playful.
Sound: 9
It definitely does its job. There’s no shortage of anime sound effects or sharp changes in tone when she starts fangirling, which I find hilarious. Props to the dub voice actors; I don’t know what you had to do in the booth to get that take, but keep doing it!
Characters: 7
The characters have their own backstories and stuff, yeah, but no one had a groundbreaking character development. Are they funny? Absolutely. Are they masterpieces? Not exactly.
Enjoyment: 10
Once again, I said this show is funny for the right audience, and it’s right up my alley. The creators must’ve been otakus or fangirls themselves; there is absolutely no way they replicated the experience without knowing it firsthand. It’s a fun leisure watch (as in, you don’t need to be mega invested in the plot to have a good time).
Overall: 8
This show is worth a watch…*if you’re the right audience!* (Can’t stress that enough!) I’m not sure this is a good watch if you’re not into fanservice at all (even if it’s satirical) or if you haven’t watched enough anime or interacted with the community enough to understand what’s going on without consulting Google every five minutes.

[PSA: Though I'm a good few episodes past the end of it, this review was made for Part 1 of JJBA (and not the entire "season" like how Netflix grouped them).] (At the time of writing this review,) I've heard so many people rave about this show, and since (ATM) Stone Ocean's anime just came out, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what all this is about. The one thing I was told before starting this series: "Part 1 is pretty slow; Part 3 is where it really picks up." Were they right? I'd absolutely say so. The art is iconic and
...
unique, yes, and the soundtrack is known for being really good, but that's nearly about all I could rave about. Everything else was OK. The story was eh and a little hard for me to grasp, the characters and their motives were only slightly understandable (and remembering who's related to who was a little too confusing for my pea brain), and I remember constantly checking the time to see when the episode would end because I just wanted to be though with this "you gotta know the context" mumbo jumbo. Overall, I'm just glad it was only 9 episodes and I didnt have to waste much time on it. It wasn't terrible terrible, but this is what I would think a spin-off series would entail.

SK8 the Infinity - Loved it!
PLEASE NOTE: I normally do not watch sports anime (more of a romcom fan), so keep that in mind when reading my criticisms.
Story: 9
Alright, I'll be honest: when reviewing shows, I purposefully think of its flaws so that I can write them here. I was going to give this show a 7 for story, but the more I tried to think of a reason to give it a 7, the less reasons I could actually put down. The story is great and actually took a few emotional turns that I didn't expect. One point off because I did get a
...
little lost with the whole businesspeople thing.
Art: 8
Not groundbreaking, but not horrible or even average. Colors kept me intrigued...or should I say, "in the zone".
Sound: 8
I didn't focus much on the background music during talking parts. However, during the races at S, the music made it feel super intense and kept me on my toes. More points because of the opening ("Paradise" by Rude-a); it was super catchy and encased the vibe of the show well.
Character: 9
These characters are HILARIOUS to watch. Reki & Langa and Joe & Cherry are opposites, which makes their interactions interesting to watch. These characters also dive into their emotions towards skating and other skaters, and what they say actually gets pretty relatable for many. The show does not paint them as perfect, which makes them feel more real. Shadow and Miya are kind of just there, but they're pretty funny to watch when they're with the whole gang. (P.S: To all you romance lovers, there's no *explicitly romantic* confessions. Sorry!)
Enjoyment: 10
I. LOVED. WATCHING. THIS. I could describe this show as a show made by a teenager. Not because it's horribly put together (which it isn't), but because it feels like it captures that wild, fun, and free feeling only a teenager could get and lets you feel that fun and adrenaline too.
Overall : 9
I think this show was great and definitely worth my time. If you get the chance to watch it, do it! In fact, this might even be a must-watch show. Flawed, but still great as is.
Watch this series if you like sports, adrenaline rushes, "hit-close-to-home" moments, and overall free feeling shows.
Don't watch this if you like super serious, slow, dark, and/or shows that have been "done over and over again."
Although this feeling is borderline, I DO NOT recommend this as a first anime. Your expectations for other anime *may* be set too high.

Given: I enjoyed it.
*DISCLAIMER: This is my first BL.*
Story: 7 - I'm not going to complain and cry, "Wahhhh, this series isn't super plot invested!" However, if that is you or something you typically want, you may want to steer clear of this. The story summarized: music boys fall in love (with each other). That's it.
Art: 7 - Not garbage but not groundbreaking. If you ask someone why they watched this show, there's probably no one out there who said that the animation made them watch it.
Sound: 7 - Ticking points off because I was expecting more music for a music anime. Sure, it was
...
only 11 eps, but I feel kind of dissatisfied with what we got. Not enough for me to bomb the score, though.
Character: 8 - I think that the character interactions were portrayed well, and that the romantic aspects were well written. Other than that, there's not much to say.
Enjoyment: 9 - This is one of those "fun-while-it-lasts" shows. I had to force myself to watch maybe 5 minutes of it (because I knew what happened), but apart from that, it was great while it lasted.
Overall: 7 - Good anime, and I might come back later to bump the score up. This is a great choice for a first anime as it is not trash but will not set super high expectations.

THIS POST INCLUDES A TINY SPOILER (Character)
I just recently finished Maid-Sama, so I'll be writing my review right now instead of later (you'll see why this detail is relevant later).
Story: 7 - For a show that is all about a maid girl's working life balanced with school life, there was a section where I was questioning where the "maid" went. Also, there's one filler episode based on the manga, which I skipped.
Art: 8 - This was made in 2010; I feel like I should cut them some slack for that compared to art from a literal decade later. I'm a sucker for 2000's-(early)2010's anime because
...
of the old art style and the "Saturday morning anime TV" feeling I get. However, that doesn't mean I can't critique the art style for things like peculiar hair physics and characters that made me laugh at the design.
Sound: 7 - The sound complemented the romantic scenes perfectly. This would have been a 5 if it hadn't.
Character: 7 - I can't be hypocritical, so I'm taking points off for genericness. Of course, this story is at least slightly new in terms of the "secret life" scene, so I'll give it that. Also, I disliked Aoi and the characters who took part in his episode thing because it felt like too much to keep up with.
Enjoyment: 8 - I watched this on a whim, and I'm glad I can add this to my anime list. HOWEVER...remember when I mentioned how I'm writing this right after finishing it? That's because it's a series I might forget I watched in the first place. It didn't leave me blown away and remembering it forever, but it was fun while it lasted!
Overall: 7 - I give this an overall score of 7; this wasn't mediocre, but it wasn't PERFECT in my eyes.

Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer: I loved it!
PLEASE NOTE: I'm not new to the shounen scene at all, however I do tend to prefer things like romance and comedy, so I'm about 90% qualified to leave a review. Keep that in mind!
Story: 9 - Cause it was kinda generic. Never seen before...but also generic. But did I like it? Hell yeah! Only one point off because I'm not gonna be a hypocrite.
Art: 10 - Great lighting aesthetic, and the colors managed to be so dark yet VIBRANT!
Sound: 10 - I watched with a surround sound system, and oh boy, that was bone chilling!!!
Character: 9 -
...
Point off for "GeNeRiCnEsS" with some of the characters (you're gonna hear that a lot). I understand that shounen sees that their fans like the "with the power of [insert something, preferably friends, family, or strength], I will become very overpowered!!!" and kinda milk it for that reason, but like I said earlier, I'm missing 10% of "qualified", so I'll sorta let it slide...
Enjoyment: 10 - I had a blast watching this series. Sure, there are a few flaws, but overall, it was so fun to watch. I also give this a 10 because of how much/often I had to force myself to watch it: never! I didn't have to force a second of watching!
Overall: 9 - I liked this series a lot because of the clear amount of creativity and effort put in, but it did have things that made me take a point off.
Watch this series if you like shounen, action, fighting, and bright colors.
Don't watch if you like no plot/story, slow and easygoing, and something TOTALLY new. I will also say that this anime should not be your first; it will set your expectations kind of high.

Story : 10
This anime's story is great in my opinion! It's more of a "follow us and watch our shenanigans as you almost choke from laughing or cry your eyes out! The story does start picking up in the last few episodes though, but I can't say what happens for spoiler reasons.
Art : 9
This section is more subjective to the viewer. Personally, I gave this a 10 because I quite like it, but since this is anime and there aren't many rules (just suggestions!), the proportions threw me off a little. I personally don't mind it at all, but if you dislike 2000s anime style,
...
you may not like the art style.
Sound : 10
Oh boy. The sound work in this anime was phenomenal! You could automatically tell when something funny, romantic, or suspenseful was going to happen just based on the music. I won't give out spoilers, but the music during romantic scenes is so beautiful! It perfectly captures the moment to the point where if you solely heard the song and imagined what the scene could look like, the actual scene looks like what I'm sure 90% of people imagined.
Characters : 9
I give the characters a 9 solely because of the fact that this anime has an ASC (annoying side character): Renge. Don't get me wrong, if she wasn't there, the anime would be much different, but I personally just tolerate her.
Enjoyment : 10
Remember what I said about the story rating? Yeah, that's what gives this section a 10. The comedy scenes that made me cry from laughter and the romantic scenes that made me hate being single made this anime so enjoyable. It's an anime made for shippers, but surprisingly isn't your "uwu [insert name]-chan x [other name]-chan are my widdle beans uwu :3" type thing. It's actually really hard to pick a ship!
Overall : 10
Honestly, I'm very sad this anime didn't get a second season because it had so much potential. If it turns out like Fruits Basket, I'd be so excited!
