While Takopii is edgier, they both have too many similarities to ignore it, and take a very... interesting... approach. If you liked one of them, you'll probably like the other.

Both are very strange video art anime. While Nekojiru is longer and is more acclaimed, they both touch some similar topics. They both have some very surreal moments, dark humor, and are very experimental. Nekojiru is an adaptaion of a Garo manga, and Sayuri could definetly be serialized in Garo.

So both are a video-art anime. People tend not to understand both, and they are both really great. People usually joke about both of them and they became kind of a meme, but if you are into video art, and really did like one of them (and seriously liked it), the other is for you.

Although they are very different, they have some moments that give a similar feeling. Both are heavily philosophic and both are a little horror-ish at times. I can't exactly explain why, but they seem to be similar in my eyes.

Both share a very similar philosophy. It's clear that Pigtails was inspired a lot by the novel of NotGR (as many other Anime in the medium). If you likd one, you'll definetly like the other.

First of all - they both share a similar artstyle, which is very unique to both. Second, both share a very similar atmosphere and has the theme of fanatsy in a world that is pretty much similar ot ours, with a lot of moments that just feel magical. If you liked one, you should definetly watch the other (though I think the Manga of Kiajuu no Kodomo is better, but the adaptation is also amazing).

Shoujo Kakumei Utena

Utena is usually considered a mahou shoujo anime, and Sakura is undoubtly a one. While Utena is very deep and not aimed for kids at all, Sakura is more light hearted, but it doesn't make it worse. Sakura has some very deep moments, sometimes even usage of symbolism just like Utena, and there were times I was watching Sakura and wasn't sure if it's Sakura or Utena. Many scenes look the exact same. And if it isn't enough, both are the most queer anime ever. I think Sakura is even more queer than Utena, so it's VERY queer.

Both are more shoujo anime, aimed for kids. Though, both are very mature, much more than your average anime. Sakura is mostly episodic telling a new story each episode about a card doing some mess, and Layton is also almost episodic telling a new story each episode, but about cases that our detective solves. If you like one, you will surely like the other one!

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica

Well, it's different but by the same time they have a lot in common. While Madoka is the more "mature" and edgy version, and even a parody (though not a funny one) of the mahou shoujo genre, Sakura is much more light hearted and many times is aimed for kids. but don't let it confuse you - Sakura is mature as well. Sakura shows that even without forcing something to be edgy, it can be as good and as mature. Both have some very surreal scenes, and you can see Madoka has taken several aspects from Sakura, without even changing a bit of them. If you watched one, you will enjoy the other more than if you haven't. Though, if you are looking for something as edgy as Madoka, Sakura isn't the right adress.

It's clear that The Promised Neverland was inspired a lot by Narutaru. Both, first of all, contain children, with a cute artstyle dealing with many hardships, including gore. Both deal with psychology and characters. They both share the theme of children v.s adults. Both contain a lot of politics, and war themes. While Narutaru is much darker and contains a lot of philosophy, YNN can be considered as a light version of Narutaru for younger readers, with a more understandable politics, less gore and less philosophy and psychology.

They both talk about psychology disorders in sports. Hoshiahi no Sora is using that just for drama, as it seems, but if you liked the 1st part of it, you should totally give Oofuri a chance (and not the opposite way, though :(). Oofuri is more of a coming of age psychological anime that shows it through baseball. It's not just a subplot like in Hoshiai no Sora, but one of the main ideas. Basically, Oofuri is what Hoshiai no Sora could've been, but isn't.
