Ueki no Housoku Plus (Law of Ueki Plus) is the sequel to Law of Ueki. I watched the anime for Law of Ueki and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to spend more time in this universe so I went out searching for the manga and ran into this little gem.

A lot of what I liked from Law of Ueki continued into this story. I like how the powers are unusual combinations of random items and special abilities. Like turning trash into plants, towels into metal or chalk into dynamite. It all makes for very interesting battles. I also like how the story does ...

GTO (Manga) add
Did you hate school growing up? Of course you did, doesn't everyone for different reasons? Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) is one of the great manga classics. It follows Onizuka Eikichi who is a ex-motorcycle gangster turned homeroom teacher, which basically means he is the most awesome teacher of all time! Sure you won't do well on the SATs with him as a teacher, but as you may find out from this manga, there is more to school than just studying.

Great Teacher Onizuka is a hilarious comedy that you won't be able to resist. But what will really hook you are the moving stories of each ...

Dark Mage (Manga) add
With a title like Dark Mage you may expect this manga to be about a cutesy little black mage who runs around saving people with his fireball and thunder spells. At least that is what I thought, but I was so very wrong.

Dark Mage is a Korean manhwa based off of a Korean novel. It takes place in a dark fantasy world that reminds me of Berserk.

The protagonist is not handsome, nor funny. Actually he is hated by almost everyone. He was born a hunchback and is constantly viewed as a monster in the eyes of strangers. Because of this he has had ...

D.Gray-man (Manga) add
Preliminary (218/? chp)
I can't remember if this is one of the cases where the Anime ended prematurely causing me to start reading the manga. But regardless D. Gray Man has lost me over the past few years. Many of the chapters seem to jump in time and location making the already confusing story line even more difficult to follow. Who is bad and who is good becomes frustratingly unclear as the story moves from a simple black and white to one huge conspiracy theory.

One Piece (Manga) add
Preliminary (703/? chp)
This is what gets me through the week. One Piece is easily my favorite comic in the current Weekly Jump. Unlike Bleach and Naruto, this shonen comic doesn't take its self too seriously and isn't afraid to kill off a character or two.

The characters have unique personalities. strange abilities and very obvious weaknesses. This creates dynamic relationships between characters that while reading will make you feel like you are apart of the crew.

Each of the story arcs are comfortably familiar to the last, but with a whole new cast of supporting characters. This keeps each adventure feeling fresh and new. The comedy is ...

Naruto (Manga) add
Preliminary (626/700 chp)
In many ways this is the Dragonball Z of another generation. I have a hate-love relationship with this series, mainly because I was introduced to it when I first started getting into manga/anime.

Sadly, I hate it now however because like so many shonen manga, the story line is not only predictable, but each of the characters have powered up so much that the battles are beyond believable. What made it such an awesome series in the beginning was that battles were fought using tricks and strategy like "real" ninja, but now it is nothing but super huge energy blasts.

I hope it ends soon so ...

Magi (Manga) add
Preliminary (179/369 chp)
This is a new read for me and I like! I admit while I was reading the first chapter I thought that I wouldn't like the series much, but before I knew it I had caught up to the current chapter. Magi is a huge world that is a little bit like a mix between Tower of Druaga, 12 Kingdoms, and The Arabian Nights. Pack your bags and get ready for this magic carpet ride.

What I was most surprised by was the story transition of this manga. It begins as a pretty silly manga but then introduces serious themes such as slavery, slums, revolution, ...

Preliminary (340/? chp)
This is my all time favorite manga AND anime so I will give it a perfect score. But because I love it so much it pains me that I have to wait so long for new chapters to come out. But I will wait because I believe in quality over quantity.

Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this series; it has everything you could ever ask for in a shonen manga. A lovable main character, great friendships, interesting abilities, nice balance between fights and problem solving, no over powered main characters, a huge world to explore, and the list goes on. One most ...

Claymore (Manga) add
Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (137/159 chp)
Had I written this review a year ago, I would have given it a 7 or an 8. But unfortunately time has not been kind to this silver eyed warrior. I loved this manga when I started reading it. But thanks to an uncreative story line and horrible translations, I have lost my passion for it. I still read it occasionally, but it is not one of my must reads. This is one case in which the anime was prematurely ended while the manga continues to this day. At first I was furious at the broadcasters decision but now I can see it was for ...

Bleach (Manga) add
Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (Unknown/705 chp)
To be honest I am not a Bleach fan. I usually just read it while waiting for something better to come out. I literally stopped reading Bleach for like a year, started at the most reason chapter and felt like I didn't miss a single thing. The story line has been done to death(no pun intended) and the characters are two dimensional(I'm on a roll right now). Out of all the weekly manga I am currently reading, Bleach would be the easiest to say goodbye to.
