Medaka Box is not quite like Pandora Box which brings doom to the user, but rather it's a box which bring happiness to the entire school.
Kurokami Medaka, the main protagonist, is a student council president who won 98% of the voting election, mainly because she promises the existence of Medaka Box : a box which everyone in the school can put in their problems, whether studies, love, family, or any other personal issues, and the student council team will solve it.
As you may have imagined, Kurokami Medaka is a 'superior human', which means that she can do ALMOST everything alone. She is charismatic, hardworking, trustful,
...
but sometimes can also be a tease to her friends.
Moving on the the aspects of review :
Story (7)
- Not quite a story plot for the first two episodes. Just Medaka receiving some requests from the students, and she completes it. The plot was only Zenkichi, Medaka's childhood friend, who joined Student Council to help Medaka doing things that she unable to do. I don't really agree blending ecchi on Medaka Box, since emphasizing the depth of each story would be a better selling point than fan services.
Art (8)
- Really liked the drawings. Backgrounds are well done. It's vivid and bright, reminded me of Baka to Test series.
Sound (7)
- No special review on this part. The soundtracks pretty well blending inside of the anime's atmosphere. The opening and ending were quite good, but not as memorable as Accel World's Chase the World, Sankarea's Esoragoto, nor Fate/Zero's to the Beginning.
Character (8)
- So far, character development goes well. Medaka and Zenkichi couples up nicely and they each covers their partner's weaknesses. Hope for more appearances of characters in the future.
Enjoyment (7)
- Sometimes Medaka Box can be a little bit touching, but sometimes it can also bore you (I don't really know, but it happened to me). I don't really expect the third episode, but I think I'm going to continue watching Medaka Box since as we never know the contents of the next box, as there is always an element of surprise in each box, including Medaka Box.
I hope you enjoyed reading my review.
NB :
This review was written upon seeing the second episode of the show, so some changes may apply in the future. I also didn't read the manga, which enabled me to give a neutral stand on reviewing Medaka Box by anime solely.

Please keep in mind that I have been viewing only two episodes upon writing this review. As this is still my second written review, I will chose the simplest words and try to keep it short.
Accel World, or Accelerated World. It's an imaginary world of accelerated thought process. In this imaginary world, the time moves 1/1000 faster than the real world. In other word, one second in the real world is 16 minutes 40 seconds in Accelerated World. Cool, huh?
It has a great and modern concept, and aside from Accelerated World which is only accessible for some 'chosen' persons, every area has a Global Link
...
or a server where everyone can access using a device. Just imagine your school turning into a big server, and each student will have an avatar representing themselves in that server.
Still a little bit confused? Well I encourage you to try watching it, but allow me to finish my review beforehand.
Story : 7
Why seven? Because it has been only two episodes. It has great concept and great potential, but sadly it's not fully developed (yet). Many unanswered questions and many small details that yet have to be revealed (yet). In the future, I believe the story rating will go up as the story moves on.
Art : 8
I really liked the art, especially the character designs. Main protagonist are a little bit crappy, but that makes Accel World unique and different from another animes, as main protagonist doesn't need to always have an ideal posture. Kuroyukihime is one of my favorite main heroine in this Spring 2012, aside from Sanka Rea from Sankarea.
Sound : 8
I really liked May'n - Chase the World, and the soundtracks blend pretty well into the atmosphere. Not much to say on this one, but I don't found this section troublesome at all.
Character : 8
As long as I watched animes, there are only a very little few animes that chose the protagonist to be a bullied student. Most of the protagonist is not also chubby, and Accel World offers a good pace of change. The protagonist is introvert, shy, childish, and unreliable. But slowly, good character development appears. Aside from that, the main heroine trait is a classic ojou-sama type and there's nothing too special about her (aside from her character design).
Enjoyment : 8
I watched this anime for the first two minutes and I'm already HOOKED in it. This show is very enjoyable because it has a great concept and unique character backed up by good art and sound. I really can't wait the third episode, and I guarantee you this is one of the most enjoyable anime on Spring 2012 (second to Fate/Zero S2 in my ranking).
Overall : 8
Overall, this show is worth watching. And believe me, you won't be disappointed. Maybe you're a little bit confused about the anime concept upon watching it, but fear not as it would become clear as the show continues.
I hope you found my review helpful.

Right, so this is my first written review, and I will try to keep it short..., and simple.
Before that, allow me to clarify that upon writing this review, I have watched only the first two episodes so changes may occur in the future.
Natsuiro Kiseki, or Summer-Colored Miracle in english, is an anime about daily lives of four middle schoolgirls : Natsuki, Saki, Yuka, and Rin. The setting of the anime took in summertime (just like the anime title). They are best friends living in a rural town, and mostly this anime is about their daily lives. But the unique aspect that make Natsuiro Kiseki a
...
little bit different from another slice of life was the additional 'spice' of Supernatural element.
When first watching Natsuiro Kiseki, I was skeptical of blending a supernatural element to slice of life genre. But it turns out that Natsuiro Kiseki was able to blend those two elements well and create a better plot. The first two episodes begins well and told the viewers about the unique personalities of each character, and also give a fair introduction to the setting. Music was also pretty well done and supports the atmosphere.
Story : 7
In my opinion, slice of life doesn't need a story of masterpiece lever. It has to be interesting, with many small conflicts, character developments, and some humors. Natsuiro Kiseki offers a decent story of slice of life combined with supernatural element. Even though it's slice of life and I found many boring ones, Natsuiro Kiseki definitely is not the one. It's the kind of story that takes you in, and make you wanted to watch it more.
Art : 8
What can I say? Art is well done, especially the character designs. Rinko's hair reminded me a bit about Ohana from Hanasaku Iroha. The art style is similar to Hanasaku Iroha and if you watched it before, you will get a feeling of de ja vu (well, for me at least).
Character : 9
In slice of life, characters play a vital part of the story. Mediocre character development, and the anime won't be good. In Natsuiro Kiseki, we have a clear distiction between the four main protagonists :
- Natsuki is a leader-type, she's adamant and hot-headed,
- Saki is a little bit tsundere, she's stubborn but sometimes can be a little cute,
- Yuka is the cheerful and energetic type which could net the group into trouble,
- Rinko is quiet, calm, and timid type which completes the group of four.
Each of the personalities blend well and four of them make good friends.
Enjoyment : 8
It's a little bit boring at the beginning, but as I watched the show, it takes me into the setting and makes me want to watch more and more. The atmosphere is similar to Hanasaku Iroha, and I really liked it. As I have finished watching, I wanted to watch the next episode asap and it rarely happened to me when watching slice of life animes.
OVERALL : 8
For slice of life viewers, this is one of the series that you don't want to miss. Try watching the first episode and see if you got hooked.
I hope you enjoyed my review.
