No nonsense review, here's the barebones of it:

Story: 8.3/10
Especially if you like fantasy, this is an amazing plot. From the character backstories, the subplots, and the society are all so immersive. I've caught myself clicking off anime half-way through an episode as of recent, or just minimizing it while I play a game. I didn't do that once for Archdemon's Dilemma.

Comedy: 6.8/10
It's hard to execute comedy for some anime, but I feel like this one did it pretty well. There were the occasional jokes that had me cringing, but there were a few running gags that hit perfectly each time. It's ... at a midpoint where if you like comedy in anime you'll like it, and even if you don't you'll be alright with it. The only thing I would say though, is don't get into it *just* for the comedy. There are other anime better suited for that.

Romance: 8.5/10
What everyone, (if you're like me) has been waiting for. I almost exclusively got into this anime for the romance aspect, and that combined with the fantasy too. This will be the longest, most in depth portion of my review. Archdemon's Dilemma uses the archetype of slave/master. That can be a big turn-off for some people, but I insist you get to at least episode five before making any judgements about that in particular. Again, without spoiling, it is handled in a very mature way compared to other anime following the archetype. Speaking of mature, the relationship and parallels between the partners are very prevalent. You'll absolutely be rooting for them.

Score (the music kind): 7.5/10
For some the score doesn't matter, and in a sense I suppose that applies to me too. It only matters when it's good. Here, I would say it's good enough to be mentioned. The music picked truly does encapsulate you in the scenes, especially the highly-emotional ones.

Rewatchability/Continuation(s): 8/10
This is hard to say for the moment, but I really do think this will be a good show to rewatch. Considering how things have panned out for certain characters, I would think it'll be enjoyable to go back and see them again. I personally don't do much rewatching though, and the anime of course hasn't finished, so I'll update this if any of that changes. In terms of continuations (season 2, OVA, etc.) I feel like it's possible. The manga is ongoing, so at the least I would think there would be a season 2. (The continuation part is factored into the score, just because I know some people like that aspect of watching a seasonal.)

Rating: 7.82 (rounded up to an 8)
This rating may change, but I feel as though unless there is a severe fall-off, this shall remain constant. I was looking for a good romance seasonal, and I feel like I hit gold with this. Truly, I think there's something for everyone in this anime. There is a reason why as of writing this review (April 30th 2024), all of the reviews are positive. You might not like it as much as I did, but I am sure you'll like it from some angle. Just don't give up on it until you've made it to episode five, that's my last statement.

NOTICE: Before I say anything else, please realize that the only translated chapters of this manga are 1-6. I've gone through many trials and tribulations to find translations of 7-14 but it seems like the only ones you'll be able to get are the shotty ones through an image translator. Luckily my Japanese friend was willing to read 7-14 to me so that was all good.

I usually don't write reviews for manga, but I figured i'd write one for this since there's basically nothing to go off of (no characters on this page, no synopsis, no nothing). First, let me clarify: I did discover ... this through the Sweet Treats stack, and I did read this to get the badge, but I found this to be a pretty nice shoujo.

Synopsis (since there isn't one): Yukata Michihara has been bullied for her weight for as long as she can remember. Despite having a crush on Botan Katsuragi, a member of the school's gardening club, she lacks the confidence to approach him. However, one day Katsuragi is seated next to her in class and offers her a chestnut to eat. Moved by his kindness, Michihara agrees to join him in the kitchen to watch him cook. From that moment on, their relationship blossoms as Katsuragi teaches her about the art of cooking, and they intertwine their interests of eating and creating food (respectively).

Let me start this by saying most shoujo isn't my cup of tea, but this one exceeded my expectations. First, it has a beautiful art style (which is what attracted me to it in the first place.) Some people take that for granted in a manga, but I think we need to appreciate the bare bones of manga. Secondly, this has a great plot and the contrast of the two goals that the MC has are perfect. One thing I didn't like though was the meet cute between them. I get it displays their shared love for sweets but to me it felt forced and too quick. Maybe she could've signed up for the club he was in and that could've been the catalyst for their relationship. It's a small thing but it did put me off. The rest of their relationship is perfectly paced in comparison to the chapter amount. My other complains are mostly nonvalid as they either rely on the fact that this is a shoujo or the fact this is a pretty short manga.

A small thing I also did like was how the author called the chapters "plates". The author seems to have a pretty good sense of humor and I'd like to maybe read more from her (if this wasn't her only manga). Small stuff like this, like when the author made Katsuragi call gingerbread men "those little guys", is what makes me smile while reading.

Seeing as there will be a season 2 this year, I may aswell write a review before it comes.
Our Last Crusade (KimiSen) is one of the best action/romance animes. There is a perfect blend between it that I could not find anywhere else, even when I looked up shows similar to it. I have never rewatched an anime so fast.
I usually don't do summaries in my reviews (as I already assume you've read the MAL rewrite) but I'll do a short one. The two MCs, Iska and Alice, belong to enemy organizations. Iska belongs to The Empire, an organization set on destroying witches, and ... Alice is a witch herself. Through shenanigans, Iska and Alice fall in love, but they must maintain their feelings and their relationship of enemies in order to not cause exile for both of them.
I admit, it does sound generic, but the show has such a charm to it that cannot be described with words. The producers were also sure not to make the anime solely romantic or solely action. Some episodes do have more action/romance than others, but in total I'd say it's about a 50/50 split. The military aspect is very strong, so if you like military against magic you may like this. The OP has also quickly become my favorite. Not for the music or the visuals, but for the story it symbolizes.
To summarize, this anime has an amazing EtL plot with a perfect balance of romance. It may seem generic at times, but it is different enough to love.
I just hope S2 is received well enough for a S3 to get greenlight. I'm not the biggest fan of LNs.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the second season of Fate/Zero and I must say that it did not disappoint. The story picks up right where the first season left off and dives even deeper into the complicated relationships between the Masters and their Servants. The animation is stunning for it's time and the action scenes are some of the best I've ever seen, creating an unforgettable experience. The soundtrack (which is something I usually don't care about) was also pretty nice. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the OP, I can't be taken seriously on that as the only OPs I really ... like are ones that sound like JoJos.

Also, I'll address this here as I don't know where else to. Yes, there is a conflict about the order to watch the Fate series in. No, I will not tell you what order to watch it in. My friend (who shared many of my interests in animes) recommended me to watch Fate/Zero without telling me it was a series, so I had watched Fate/Zero first. If you believe that invalidates my review, that's fine.

Seeing the characters after season one, you'd usually expect a change in character because of how long the gap between season one and two was, but the producers managed to keep it perfectly the same. I even appreciated the first season more after watching the second. I had planned to speedrun Fate/Zero S2 (to get to the other parts) however I had to rewatch some parts after seeing how beautiful the anime was.

Overall, Fate/Zero is one of my favorite animes and I highly recommend it. The second season manages to build on the already impressive story of the first season and takes it to a whole new level. The action scenes are intense and the characters are incredibly well-developed. If you are looking for an anime with a unique and captivating story, Fate/Zero is definitely worth checking out.

Maybe I'm the first one to say this - but I didn't mind the CGI. I simply didn't. With the amazing story and fighting, maybe I just got caught up in all of the good things instead of looking at the bad. Yeah, maybe the CGI isn't all there, but it doesn't make the show "unwatchable".

Many people misunderstand the personality of the characters we see, which I can't blame them for, but I insist - watch it to it's fullest, then read the manga. Almost all of the kinks that you see in the anime are ironed out by P2 of the manga. For example, ... Denji is not made to be a typical sex joke=funny character. He is meant to represent a typical teenager. Maybe in an extreme way, but keep in mind, he has never done anything in his life but work.

Remember what happened to Cyberpunk 2077? That is not what happens here. CSM lives up to the hype, and could even exceed it in the future. However, if your hype is that CSM is the shounen-killer, then don't expect your unrealistic expectations to be true. NOTHING will ever be perfect, which you all should know by now.

The fact that I see people not recommending this because of things like Power being bratty or Himeno's barf scene. Everything is meant to represent something that a teenage boy might occur in his life. Power is meant to represent a little sister, and Himeno's scene is meant to represent a traumatizing moment with women.

Just what I think though.

I feel as though my child had been murdered right in front of me. I was behind a glass wall, and couldn't do anything but watch as he died. This anime is an atrocity of man. The UN says there is eleven acts against mankind? I would like to propose a twelfth. This anime takes what was Fate/Zero, an amazing anime that makes you philosophically think, and destroys it. It turned Fate/Zero into a comedy where the characters are crackin' some funny jokes as they are trying to kill each other. This anime is as close as you can get to a Marvel movie for ... anime. It completely destroys the integrity and legacy of the characters. At the time of writing this, before watching this I had never ranked an anime less than 5 stars and this got a one star. Please, if you just finished watching F/Z DO NOT watch this. It could very possibly ruin how you view the Fate series as a whole.

I understand most might not see my review as "credible" because I have only watched five episodes, however, dear reader, I ask you this. Would you trust a man to tell you CIA torture is terrible if he "only" went through five minutes of it? Hell; I couldn't even enjoy the OP! I love OPs and this was the only anime where I consistently skipped it.

Want to watch this as a "turn off your brain" anime? Don't. I know what a "turn off your brain" anime/movie is when I see one; I liked Moonfall for Christ's sake! The surface level one-liners don't even work well. I would have an easier time laughing at Amy Schumer than at any of these jokes.

Just like how WW2 brought us computers, at least one good thing comes out of this atrocity... "People die if they are killed." If you're going to watch ANY part of this, simply look up the 4 second clip and call it there.

To summarize: F/SN ruins the integrity of the characters and their story, tries to be a marvel movie with all the jokes, isn't even funny, and can't be enjoyed be anyone who respects the story of Fate. 3 hours of my life wasted, but 20 minutes well spent typing a review if this even causes one person to not watch F/SN.
