the main characters i think started out a bit cliche-y and they still felt a bit cliche-y by the end. just their relationship had improved from arguing a lot to implied romantic interests. everyone else though…not so much. the characters are a bit boring and the ones that seem interesting don’t get as much development as i thought they would get. still better than nothing.
this series was interesting enough to make me keep questioning things but still able to predict how things would go.
overall, it is a bit predictable and trope-y and normally i would give this kind of average anime a 7 rating,

if you want a feel-good manga that is a slice of life but things/character development still happen, this is most likely for you. it’s adorable!
regarding romance, there is a bit of an age gap but it’s not as bad (or squicky) as say, bunny drop’s was. i think it was only like 5 years or something? the art is beautiful and the lines are very clean. it's also pretty consistent if you care about that. however it does in some moments fall into that shoujo style stiffness or the hands/fingers look awkward. but it’s good enough that you can tell that akane and aoi are children ... if you want a giant cliche storm of like…naruto, harry potter, and fairy tail read this. some things are like just copy n pasted. honestly, even the character designs remind me greatly of hinata and kageyama from haikyuu. heck, the main character asta is like basically white haired hinata with a giant sword. still, im a sucker for the kind of “never give up” - type character that naruto and hinata are so I’ll keep going.
if you want to read a pretty decent, fast-paced, and very fun cliche storm with beautiful line art to relax, turn your brain off for a while, and binge read ... |
