It's no secret that this starts out pretty damn bad. An overall typical plot, a main character that makes you want to drop the series her and now, a group of clichés - the list goes on.
However, I am glad that I decided to give it a chance. Character development slowly makes the MC more tolerable as long as the ones around her, and events twist around the situation when you just thought you understood everything, making it insanely hard to stop watching.
Honestly, give it a try. The first few episodes will be hard to get through, but after that, it gets better

This series had me hooked from the very first episode. I enjoyed watching the interactions between the main female and the main male protagonist, as well as the harships they went through. I find every character and the bonds between them unique in their own ways - all with both good and less good qualities, even the ones who play the roles of the villains.

In Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, we experience themes such as unrequited love, regret and being unable to let go.
The story is, in my personal opinion, well-written and touching. I think it has a very realistic view on both the empathic/understand and the egoistic feelings of the human heart and shows how not all characters are fully capable of always putting others before themselves. I really enjoyed this show (yet I do admit to having had a hard time holding back tears), though I did feel a little weirded out at some of the scenes in the first two episodes. After that, ... |
