I tried to give this novel a chance, many chances, but the more I read, the more unreadable it got. I will never forgive the reviews for hyping this so much.
However, I don't think that's because the story itself is bad, but because the medium through which is delivered and the way it's executed is very poor. For me the main problem was that there were so many exposition dumps, bluntly telling the reader what the characters feel, without leaving space for interpretation, constantly switching up the emotions and thoughts of the MCs (I mean from 3-4 paragraphs apart), making them inconsistent (but still predictable),
...
unrelatable and hard to understand, and generally weird actions by the MCs.
I do think some people would like this, but imo, this novel treated me like I was some stupid idiot, who doesn't remember what happened in the previous chapter, and likes people to feed me, instead of feeding myself. It was insulting, and I hope I never encounter such novel ever again.

Ladies and gentlemen, the greatest manga of all time.
After waiting so long for the final volume to come in the mail, I finally finished "Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction"! And it definitely was worth the wait. This is Inio Asano's magnum opus! A manga, balanced on the thin line between post-apocalyptic science fiction and drama-heavy slice of life. It is truly one of the greatest works of fiction in my eyes.
I feel a normal review of plot will be a bit too mundane, so I'll just summarize most of it:
The plot - flawless. From the daily lives of Kadode and Oran to the conscious commentary
...
of the politics that plague this apocalyptic world, it is incredibly well structured. Even the "time travel" that occurs in the later stages, I'd say it's very well developed and established. The goals, the stakes, the urgency, all the parts of what we call 'plot' are placed not in the beginning, serving their purpose until the end, but are sprinkled across the multiple volumes and different scenes that take place, so as the GSU (goal. stakes, urgency) vary as the manga progresses and not become stagnant. They all build towards one final conclusion - a better world;
The characters - almost flawless. I'd say the only characters that are a bit too underdeveloped are the last two - Kumika i Hako, but even their goals are easy to understand. All the other main characters and even side characters are well established and developed and get their proper conclusions too, whether they remain in the apocalyptic or the healed timelines;
The themes - I would say this is the strongest part of the manga. Then again, every part of this manga is strong. The themes of genocide, alienation, corruption, propaganda, manipulation are all very visible on the surface. But as you dig deeper you find other more intimate themes, like (unrequited) love, childhood, adulthood, fatherhood, obsession and faith, or motifs like the road, the flight and the choice.
I don't even need to speak about the setting. It's so well established, so realistic, so gruesome and so depressing. There are no words to fully describe it.
All in all, this manga has become my favorite manga of all time and for good reason. I think it's safe to say that it quite possibly could be one of THE greatest of all time.
Inio Asano, hats off to you.

The bittersweet and honestly tragic ending of one of the most incredible rides I've ever been on. This anime is one for the ages. After 10 long years we see the conclusion to the most infamous, but also most brilliant action and post-apocalyptic thrillers of our time. There is not much I can say that hasn't been said already, so I'll just cut to the chase - this has been one of the closest instances of a perfect show in the last 10 to 15 years. And one of the few examples where the story just kept getting better and better. "Attack on Titan" has
...
finished and after seeing it, it's clear that all the nonsense that was going around when the manga ended, about how the ending was poorly written, has been vanquished.
Maybe it's just me though. I guess, after so many years, seeing the conclusion, for some people it made sense that Isayama left them hanging with the ending. But not me. From plot to characters, to lore, to twists, to satisfying resolutions, to tension, urgency, goals, stakes, anything you could think of, I am absolutely certain that "Attack on Titan" scored in every aspect a 10/10.
Anyone else who is saying otherwise, I honestly think they should rewatch it, maybe even a few times, to fully understand what they just saw. Because it's easy to finish watching this, not understand much and go on the internet, saying stuff like "OvErRaTeD!1!". I watched it twice and I can confidently say, that now I understand (most of) what is going on in these 3 hours of pure adrenaline rush.
Thank you for reading, have a pleasant day (or night)!<3

Okay, I feel like I should say something now...
The main plot for me is the series' biggest strength, along with the two main characters that propel it. I think the main plot is very enjoyable, it flows nicely and the ending is also very good. So basically so far, an 8/10.
Where the show for me starts tumbling down the hill, is the sub-plots and the supporting cast. In 13 episodes you have a limited amount of time to do various things. So then why, with this limited time, did the show decide to introduce 2 sub-plots that don't get resolved? Both the love that Gotou
...
and Mishima feel for Yoshida gets totally tossed aside after ep 9 or 10. Why even start them? Instead maybe they could've made it the opposite - that they don't like Yoshida and that brings him closer to Sayu. But no - they instead go for those unfinished sub-plots. When Mishima was crying alone and was wishing Yoshida loved her, that was emotional, that was a moment, where if it was built upon, it could've led to some more serious drama and choices being made. But instead the next episode she goes out and helps Yoshida to be with Sayu. What absolute cucking, both on Mishima and us, the audience. And Gotou's love was just half-assed and unjustified tbh, there was no substance with the relationship between her and Yoshida.
So moral of the story - don't try and do too much, if you have limited amount of time.
Such a missed opportunity, this could've actually been a truly great (9/10) romance drama.

One of the most addicting mangas I've ever read, "My Awkward Senpai" is in three words - cute, sweet and wholesome. I feel like I have diabetes after reading so much of this manga tbh...
The art style is just... wow. So beautiful. I have no idea who the artist is, but I hope they keep this art style up, it's one of the most beautiful out there! The story is very tight, as well as the cast of characters, which helps to keep the manga intimate and nicely wrapped, like you're watching a family album. The plot - it's a romcom, what do you expect
...
from a romcom? It's a bit cliche, but honestly, where it differs, is it's unbelievable amount of wholesome and cute moments between the two MCs.
One of the best romcoms i've read, I guess I'm a sucker for the cuteness of this manga!
Edit: I love this manga even more now!!!

(I won't write some super detailed review of SEL, because I almost feel like it's impossible to grasp little nook and cranny in this show.)
So I must say, that SEL is not an anime, that everyone will enjoy, at least from the first watch. Because it definitely takes some time to understand it. Some might say it's too smart for its own good, it's too avant-gard, it's too disorganised, but I feel like that's almost the lazy way to say the anime is not for you. Even for me, to truly understand the anime, it took me like 3 watches. But the point of SEL
...
looked like it tried to tell a story, that made the audience actually wonder where it's gonna go in the next episode, and then it completely took everyone by surprise, as the next episode was about something different. Yet the episodes tied perfectly into the themes of identity crisis, the internet, the consequences of your own actions and also more simple concepts like love, loneliness and death. SEL is an anime, that did a lot with little. From the repetition of certain frames in the animation, that made them anxious, uncomfortable and almost panic-inducing, to the repeated intro, that seemed to almost try to tell us what exactly a certain episode was going to be revolved around. Lain is built to be this introvert IRL and extrovert online and Arisu I would say is the opposite. And they complete each other so well, to the point where in the ending they actually understand what the other yearns for - one wants for everyone she knows to be safe and the other for her friend to be safe. And every interaction with Lain's family is uncomfortable, to the point where we can understand Lain's growing apathy towards them. Even Lain's sister's visions we see tie into this growing discomfort that turns into insanity. But even the end Lain still cares for her family - she cares enough to wipe herself from their memory and let them live a carefree live, along with her school friends.
All in all, I'm not good at reviews. Just wanted to express some of my thoughts on what I consider to be the best anime out there.
LET'S ALL LOVE LAIN.
