Their setting is entirely different since Trigun is westernized and is set on a fictional planet based on American Old West, whilst Monster is set in Europe with real life locations. What these two anime have in common, is the apex of psychological drama, both of these masterpieces reach (sooner or later) as the story progresses. Several characters from Trigun are very similar to those in Monster. Nicholas D. Wolfwood and Wolfgang Grimmer first come to my mind. Then Legato and Johan, although Legato isn't the main villain. Nina and Meryl (well, kind of) .Both series feature the twin brother as the main antagonist. Both series deal with the themes of superiority. Overall, I think Monster is a better anime but I love both.

Digimon Tamers

It might be hard at first to find common aspects between those two animes, but if you analyze it thoroughly, you can notice that they are very similar in certain manner. Konaka did the work on Tamers so well that he managed to hide attributes from EVA masterfully and make the show following the same Digimon style as it predecesorrs. However, knowing Konaka, this show has more complex character development, characters dealing with their own problems and questions about life meaning in both psychological and physiological way. Now about similarities between EVA and Tamers. Several characters in Tamers are based on characters in Evangelion. Same battle style in both series. The main heroes fighting baddies, whilst the battleground is surrounded by military forces. Relationship between pilots and evas is similar to relationship between tamers and their digimons. Hypnos (organization in Tamers) is equal to SEELE at the beginning, Monster Makers is comparable to NERV. Similar uniform, headquarter, team work. Group of people working on computers and thus participate. WarGrowlmon have those two pylons on their shoulders, It's jaw armor resembles of EVA 01's mouth and Wargrowlmon have that pointless wire behind his back. Honestly I didn't find much similarity between Angels and D-Reaper agents. There are angels intended for different combats and operations as well as the D-Reaper agents. The only similarity i could find is that there are agents of similar material and structure as some angels and the appearance of ADR-02 that possibly takes that eye sign from Sahaquiel. One of the most notable comparisons in fanbases is the Rei/Lilith fusion and evolving of the Mother D-Reaper with Juri inside her. Mother D-Reaper with Juri scenario closely followed the elements of Rei and Lilith. It's excessively to say that Tamers is Evangelion with Mons. They share some similarities but in fact Tamers is far from being an Evangelion clone. Evangelion is more science fiction and adventure packed with humour. Tamers was supposed to be a show for "kids" but it turned to be more Lovecraftian which is surprisingly good in my opinion. Tamers has been my favourite anime for years and the fact that it is inspired by Evangelion got me into Evangelion even more. They are both very good animes.

Wolf's Rain

Both titles include the main character and his gang on yourney. The difference is, the Wolf Rain's gang searches for the legendary place while the main character, Dr. Tenma from Monster investigates the person, he is after. Drama, mysteries and tragedies are higly used in both animes. Many really good characters die or sacrifice themselves in order to help their friends. The main antagonists from both animes are higly manipulated, yet calm and polite with smooth voices. Wolf rain is by far more supernatural, while Monster is completely realistic. Both Monster and Wolf's Rain are known for their dark nature.
