I'd been anticipating the release of this movie ever since watching the previous movie by this studio, Nezha (2019). Through Jiang ZIya, they present a more mature and darker toned story, while bringing the Chinese fantasy genre, Xianxia, to life through 3D animation. Although the Xianxia elements of Chinese martial arts, mythology, and Taoism/Buddhism may be more understandable for a Chinese audience, I believe that a foreign audience will be able to enjoy this movie just as well.
The art/animation is definitely the most outstanding aspect of the film. The action scenes are sharp and well choreographed and the character designs are really appealing. So
