I felt compelled to writte this up seeing a lot of other reviewers missing the point of what makes this series enjoyable.
On the most surface layer this is your standard romcom. Childhood friends comes back and protagonist is torn between her and his crush. Some past feelings are alluded, etc, etc.
The story arc is really basic and straigthforward. What makes this interesting is the characters themselves. They are all fundamentally flawed in really worrying ways.
Basically everyone is a psycho and the layers are slowly peeled as the story moves forward. Mind you this still a shounen series so no one is getting stabbed here or
...
something like that. However i have to mention, the mental problems the characters have are "real", they are not the tipical "knife wielding stalker gir yandere" but thing like: "fear of connecting with other people makes them overly atach their sense of selve to the only relationship they have no mather how ill advised" or "past experiences makes them untrusting of others and when they meet someone they think is different they project all the qualities they idealize into them and thus love this fake idealized self".
This series stradles the line between vanilla romcom and seinen thriller while fallin on the side of the romcom. It is altoghether enjoyable and a good quick read.
