SO to begin,,, my favourite thing about beastars is legoshi im gonna have to be fr,,, now i wouldnt call myself a furry nor into men but legoshi got me feeling some typo way*bites lip and growls ferociously* LMAO

the movement is also very fluid and visually stimulating,, the fight scenes are widely enjoyable because they made it through cgi
the next thing i want to talk about is more of a peave i have with most anime as they are directed towards men and made by men,, it means most of the women on screen are not shown in a respectful light,,, as the original creator of beastars is a women theres very little fan service which allows a larger audience to enjoy this anime... i really appreciate that element but i cant lie theres very little work within this season to flesh out the female characters,, haru is still confusing to me,,, as i have yet to read the manga i truly hope theres more character development on the female characters in beastars.
ALSO the level of queer connotations in this season was unexpected but loved,, theres nothing wrong with people wanting to headcannon certain characters as queer i definitely enjoyed that element

woah,,, this manga...
i need to specify this manga does have rape scenes so please read at your own risk. personally i stand with not showing rape scenes unless its a necessity to the story, the scenes in this manga do not fall under that for me and i really wish they were not here... but alas they are.
story- 9/10
its a slow burner, it falls under that same pretend go out trope thing... if only it were that ez irl -_-

something i enjoy about bl is although maybe not a direct positive but the characters usually fall within the female fantasy and are not truly realistic to how men actually act (if only that were not the case). so when i tell you i hated the shii it was as much of a shock to me as it would be for u reading this thinking why are you giving it 10/10 then,,, shii is a perverse and aggressive man, he doesn't acknowledge the boundaries of yuminaga, its disturbing to watch but boy does it feel realistic. although shii has extremely bad moments which should lead him to prison, i still felt attached to him and how he will go about with his endeavours. yuminagas disgust towards sex from his own trauma is interesting to read and is a respectful way to portray his trauma.
enjoyment- 7/10
i was painfully routing for these characters to better each other for the better and also aggressively wishing for the exact opposite.
overall- 9/10
i would say as long as you can handle topics of trauma and men stepping over boundaries then give this manga a shot.

i had found out about this manga through the mangaka's other work "usaki no mori" which is another fantastic work
i want to specify a trigger warning for this mangakas work as it does include rape,,, its rather uncomfortable to read and even more uncomfortable on how it's taken as not a heinous act,,, it's quite disappointing as the mangaka nails everything else to do with queer relationships.
story- 7/10
this runs quite slowpaced at the start with the characters developing a special friendship in which they meet at the rooftop,,, after the second novel it completely flips and they bond extremely quickly, its interesting

to see as I'm more keen on the slow burning romance but it was quite realistic in that sense; they were both straight forward.
art- 9/10
i love this mangakas art,,, me: a full on lesbian squealing in my bed at 5 am since the boys make these absolutely monumental facial expressions of yearning.
character- 9/10
both characters are relatively fleshed out and enjoyable,,, characters making mistakes and acting out in toxic ways can be interesting and relatable to read although I wouldn't say I see myself in either I do appreciate a well developed mental block that the main character portrays.
enjoyment- 9/10
yes, aside from that one scene.
overall- 9/10
if you enjoy bl centring around relatively masc characters I would recommend this, its a light read with a plot of personal trauma and development and the obvious cute boys falling in love

ok so i read this around a week ago, but ill try my best to remember what went down. i would really recommend this mangaka, if you enjoy a realistic twist to the massive amount of boys love
story- 7
the story is nothing special. it starts off a bit blunt, which i didn't like, but it doesn't stay like that, and (thankfully) doesn't involve any rape, which you might have thought from the beginning.

ever thought "damn why tf all mc grils so shite in manga thats not the mainstream ones. why cant i find a good mc, THAT CHOOSES THE RIGHT GOD DAMN BOI, YOU VAIN SHIT!!!" well well well, look no further. for the girl in this manga is a qt pie.

soooooo i enjoyed the story. this is quite a short manga so not much happened but i felt quite satisfied by the ending with the wrestling and love.

i really(!!!!!) enjoy scary guys that aren't dick heads. so the mc adn the scary dude were everything i love. the mc is this strong asdn amazing at sport teenager who is kicked out of society by how she is strong but this gril can kick ass yet isn't confident about it, characters that have relatable emotions and the best. the two other characters are meh. fuck you, popular guy.

wow omg i've never read such a manga with so poor art like this manga is a massive knee slapper there were so many scenes that i just laughed at from how ridiculous they were only because the art was so pitiful and stupid i loved it but it still has big bad points

also ughhhh the whole fact this suit man literally asked this girl who has no contact with the bland boy where he was all the time is so god damn bad(the whole point of this being in the plot is so the dull oby gets the wrong impression) if he were to ask someone he'd ask the bland boys coworker and this just shows how badly written this is, honestly i could point out so many scenes that were just sooo bad and critique then but my hands are hurting from being this angry since i'm tensing them. the only good part was the way they talked about sex it was much more believable oh back to the actual "story", they like kiss at a house party since drunk people and then there relationship starts from there but then the suit man is being transferred but is coming back in a few months, it covers long distanced relationships which is actually executed pretty well, there is this one great scene where the dull boys friend takes him to a care and then bangs up on him and then the suit man comes from nowhere and starts to beat up thew friend and the dull boys expression was the best thing in a manga honestly i'd recommend someone read this just so they can see the face in its context anyway then sex scenes yaaaay
