I give this a 7 but to be completely honest it deserves something closer to 9
As a straight male who is definitely, most certainly homophobic i couldnt bear to put this above 8.
BUT as comedic value this was a 10/10
It was also redeemed by its characters and especially the main who cringes away from gay contact to himself
I also dropped the score a little because each episode was too short. I mean it felt like watching 1 episode ova of an anime rather than a series.

I watched and rewatched the original 2006 series several times. This alone probably gives you a decent idea of how much I enjoyed it.
What initally drew me to the original was the combat and how it was relatively realistic, at lwast by anime standards sure it had super human strenght (karula) and super speed. some people could jump 20 feet in the air (although realistically that would have gotten them killed) and there was magic and mechs. The mechs although overpowered were meant to be and i could accept them. The magic was also not over used and was not as overpowered. As for military ...

the second i saw a girl, and yes this is sexist, beat kirito i was like where the hell is this story going, i came here to watch and over powered main character who just bats away enemies like flies. So going back to how this dropped like 4 things is cause of the (whatser name) whatever aids girl name and asuna started pulling the show away from kirito. Also there wasnt enough gameplay most of the story became a show about showing this ... |
