I wrote a review which I'll provide at the bottom. Some loser deleted it because they didn't agree with it.

Let's start over entirely. If you're considering watching this second season, you've probably seen the first. If you haven't then you should go see the first, there's little point in starting midway through. If you've seen the first, you probably know if you like the general format of the show. This second season is a direct continuation of the first. If you don't like the first season, you won't like the second.

The second season is good with a ... big caveat: the endless eight. These are nearly-identical episodes that serve as filler. They're repetitive and once you've seen one you can skip straight to the last.

ART+SOUND: The art is typical for its era. Competent, with what I'd consider above-average animation quality. Audio in this series isn't important, and you likely won't be able to tell much of this show's audio from another's without context.

CHARACTER/STORY: with the endless eight exception the story is nice and the characters remain consistent with the first season. No meaningful character development here, but that's not the point.

Now for the spooky scary banned original review text, which really isn't all that different except in brevity:
Endless Eight sucked, and there was no point besides filling space to have the entire arc take up 8 episodes. It's not artistic, it's not deep, it's not complex, it's lazy. The 8-episode arc could have been compressed into one episode.

Look up the viewing order chronologically on wikipedia, then skip the 8 shit episodes. Then you might enjoy the other 6. That's right, more than half the season is one episode on repeat.

Characters remain consistent from season one, so no real surprises in what you watch unless you haven't seen season one, in which case why are you starting with two?

This is the third season of Overlord. While I'd normally recommend the third season of anything to someone who already likes the series, I'm not sure I can. The animation relies heavily on CGI. Heavily. Too heavily.

While CGI can be acceptable, even fine or good in some series depending on implementation - look at Gundam Unicorn - here it's awful. It's lazy. It's not even trying to hide its laziness. It's as if the animators are telling the audience "eh, whatever, you get the point." Previous seasons have obviously CGI skeletons. This season is far, far ... worse.

The story is surprisingly good. Pacing both within and between episodes felt good with only one or two hiccups. Rarely did anything feel forced, rarely (though there is a particularly egregious example) did anything feel unnecessarily drawn out.

The opening is probably my least favorite of Myth&Roid's work. Sound within the anime itself is fine, serviceable, but nothing really noteworthy beyond "the opening is significantly worse than previous work by the same artist."

Character interaction, worldbuilding, and plot are the strong points here, don't go looking for technical achievement.

Generic isekai high fantasy harem self-insert anime that gets a lot right and a fair bit wrong.

A few things that I'll warn you about, and if you don't like the idea of them then just move on now: the sound is awful. From bland voice acting to a forgettable, almost satirically boring soundtrack, the sound here just sucks the excitement right out of you.
Next, the animation is nothing special. Not offensive, just nothing special. A couple of nice backgrounds, with plenty of characters in cities, even in the background, can't save this from overusing rather obvious CGI and forgettable, ... babyfaced characters. A couple of exceptions exist but unfortunately the MC isn't one of them.
Finally, yes, the MC is completely and laughably overpowered. That's established in the first episode. There's no power creep in the season, thankfully.

On to the good. Pacing here is actually really good. The story moves along appropriately, the intra-episode pacing is nice, and you feel a sense of progression without a sense of being rushed. Nothing really changes beyond the first episode, which doesn't really matter that much because that's not the point of the show.
Eyes are done either totally inappropriately to the character or totally fittingly. One or the other, there's no in-between, but more often than not the eyes are expressive and pleasant to look at.

Overall, this is one of those series where if it does get a season 2, I can almost guarantee it'll ditch its good aspects (especially pacing), but these twelve episodes are a low-stakes, gentle way to unwind that I can recommend.

This could have been a well-executed series of high fantasy game system tropes. It could have had interesting characters. It could have worked. It threw all those chances away. I like isekai as a genre, and I like its tropes, but there's just too much shit here.

Ignoring fanservice, which isn't a plus or minus inherently, the core flaw of this series is pacing. Everyone has seen the same tropes before, in series following very similar story arcs to this. But each episode drags out these tropes to an agonizing degree. At some point, everyone knows exactly ... what's going to happen, but before they do the show should already have gotten the entire event over with. It doesn't. It drags and drags and drags.

Inter-character interaction could have been deep, even in the limited plot. The best known character (who everyone just calls loli bigboobs because who can be assed to remember her name?) actually has some depth. Not a ton, but more than any other character in the series, and many other characters in many other series. One would imagine this means she gets more time in the spotlight, doing things and moving plot along. But nope. Gotta drag out that one getting-ready-to-hit-something frame!

The second season of Overlord is a tease for the third season of Overlord. World building, establishing various subplots only to forget about them entirely, and power fantasy abound.

The story does a good job of setting up S3, but a bad job at being a good story in itself. The art is basically the same as S1, and is well animated. However, there are parts which are pretty obvious, low to middle quality CGI.

Characters are a little more interesting than in S1, but fail to fully flesh themselves out. Lizardman arc ends too quickly, and there's not really a reason ... for the demon arc. The arc could have been condensed into two episodes.

It's a power fantasy that fails to create meaningful power. If S3 takes the many, many loose threads from S2 then that will be a hit, but S2 on its own fails to deliver.

Mindless enjoyment, that is enhanced through a working knowledge of pop culture (both american and japanese)

I found this second season to fall back on many of the more common harem/ecchi tropes, but still enjoyed it. Characters have been established, and there is little development to be had. This isn't that kind of anime.

The really key point to this review, though is Nyaruko-san herself. Never have I been more irritated by a character, yet wanted that character to succeed in winning the hapless/gutless/herbivore MC's heart. I had to pause episodes I was so bothered by Nyrauko, yet I still found ... myself rooting for her.

Absolutely worth watching if you liked the first season, and if you haven't seen the first season then I would recommend that too.

Funny in an innocent way, very cute, and sugary sweet without being sickening.

Each story in Yotsuba! doesn't last very long, but for the most part is self-contained and modular. There is no barrier to entry here, you won't feel left out if you haven't seen or read X, Y, or Z, and what specific references there are aren't the focus of the stories, they're just window dressing. Parodies exist, but exist accessibly. A 5 year old could follow along.

I can't recommend this enough for anyone looking for low-stakes slice of life enjoyment. Plot progression is nonexistent, art is endearing ... though not groundbreaking. Dialog shines here: the author has done a great job of capturing what makes people think kids are cute and turning that up to 20.

Pick this up as soon as you need something that just makes you feel good.

This is like a tumblr fantasy of a Big Bang Theory about dumb people, but where someone screaming something obvious supplants the laugh track. Didn't finish one episode.

Art and sound (aside from screaming everything) were good. Commendable attention to detail. The first episode took two themes and ran with them, but unfortunately couldn't do either particularly well. I guess if you like the "lol random" genre of comedy, you might like this. I actually do like some "lol random" shows, but the one character screaming the obvious ruined things for me. Maybe a fake dub would make ... it more enjoyable for me.

The best way to describe this anime is "safe." Not safe for work (and hopefully far less safe for work on BD release) because there is always the obligatory harem anime fanservice, but it's a safe bet that if you don't come in expecting to think, you'll be able to stay for the ride and enjoy yourself.

No thought necessary here, just instant, easy, predictable gratification. The girls meet every checklist you could want from deadpan to impish to tsundere and beyond. The animation is sparse but well accomplished: nothing too fancy, but no disappointments either. Some slight character development ... toward the end, but nothing that will anger anybody because it took a daring direction. Some characters seem almost-aware that the whole situation is ridiculous: "I'm not surprised anymore" (or some variation) is a frequently-used line.

Honestly, you could probably watch without sound and as long as you paid attention it would still make sense. The very opening of the first episode explains everything you need to know: God accidentally smites your stereotypical, thick-as-a-nuclear-bunker harem protagonist, and to make it up he sends Protag to a stereotypical high-fantasy world with massively OP magical abilities and a smartphone that never runs out of signal or power.
