My actual score is closer to a 5.5, but I would rather round down in this instance. I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this work that generally stem from the core issue that it struggles with. The overarching premise is unique enough to buy in easily, but the author fails to take it any further than skin-deep through any portion of the series. There is very little characterization and next to nothing outside of the broad strokes carried between chapters. The middle three felt like they could have been read in any order with little to no impact on your experience and understanding ... of the "plot". I will give it points for the striking visuals, with many panels catching my eye from both the composition and the art itself. This is just sadly another tale of wasted potential from a really promising premise. I would skip this one.
