I started reading Gangsta after I watched the 1st episode of its anime adaptation.I have always been a fan of Black Lagoon and Jormungand and so I wanted to read something along those lines.

Gangsta as the name suggests is the story about gangsters/mafia.The story is set in the fictional town of Ergastalum which has its own dark history.Nicholas and Worick , popularly known as BENRIYA are the guys who can sort out any kind of problem.They can take care of guys,can deliver things and are also ready to even catch cats.Along comes Alex who is a prostitute and the story kicks off from there.

The story ... in Gangsta often unravels through flashbacks which is one of its strongest strengths.The atmosphere of Ergastalum is dark and gritty and hides many evils in plain daylight.The action scenes are fast paced and simply awesome.Panels are beautifully drawn and the grayish contrast sets the mood.A heavy amount of grotesque violence is present but I think that was necessary to make the manga more realistic.Character interactions often drives the story and we get to know more about them.

Gangsta deals with many dark themes such as that of discrimination,xenophobia,prostitution,child labour,war crimes etc. and thus sometimes seems to loose focus as many things are thrown in at the same time.But on the whole the story has a coherent flow.

Gangsta was a hard read because of its mature content and emotional flavor.But it has its moments of bright lights as well.I enjoyed reading it and will recommend it to anyone who can stomach some violence and morbidity.

What would have happened if Spike Spiegel(of Cowboy Bebop) and Balalaika(of Black Lagoon) had a child?The answer is Sakamoto. He like a protege of Sabastian Michaelis but there is a catch.He is better than him at everything.He seems to make the word 'awesome' somewhat pale.He is more awesome than the god Chuck Norris himself.A lot of things can be said about him but let's wait here.
This a manga about a guy/boy/superhero/etc. and his everyday experiences in highschool.There is no overarching story or plot but just random incidents. Sakamato is the center of the universe here and effects everything often leading to a good ... conclusion.
The art is good in this one and the panels are beautifully drawn.The sketch work is also nice which helps in creating a blissful atmosphere.
Since the manga only has episodic plots most of the times,character development may not be its stronger trait.But the characters in the manga had evolved in the somewhat 16 chapters that I have read till now so I have no problem with that.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed Sakamoto Desu Ga.It was just simple,pure,untainted fun.I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read something that can bring back the little child in them.

"I realized it one day. The lyrics I struggled to create are only made up so I would have something to sing. Nothing genuine can come out of these flat and boring and ambiguous lives we're living, out of faking your worries for the sake of it".

The works of Asano Inio are very often different on the uptake of life and society and this was no exception.On the surface, this is a story about a couple in their twenties who are in the midst of self exploration.Some things happen and then the story takes a slightly different route.It is a relatively short manga with only ... 2 volumes(28 chapters in total) but I think that it was never meant to be long.

The feelings of anxiety,uncertainty,mediocrity,hopelessness etc. which plagues the minds of the younger people nowadays is more or less perfectly displayed through the various panels of the manga.The central theme of the manga is linked to music though it does not drag it down to the ground.

The characters themselves are flawed which makes them realistic to their cores.The monologues in the story are nicely written and at various points add to the melancholic atmosphere.

The art is unique and supplements the manga very well.Some panels are very beautifully drawn.Inclusion of some photos in the later chapters and tuning them to be in sync with the style of the manga was also a nice effort.

Well I can't say that I didn't enjoy Solanin but it left me with some uneasy feelings.On the whole it was a nice experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read some slice of life done in a slightly different way.

Story:
The big message that this manga wants to convey is that never talk to strangers.And never ever tell them that you have a little sister.And if you tell them by mistake,then be ready to flee the city,country and even Earth in order to save your life and of others.
The biggest asset of this manga can be described in a single sentence-that it is disgustingly creepy.The pace is quite fast which adds to the eeriness and helps in transforming the same world of joy and hope into that of a living hell in just a couple of chapters.
Art:
It does a fgood job in setting up the ... mood of the manga.The faces of various characters very often show the hopelessness that they are experiencing and the presentation of sudden change in emotions on their faces is also well done.
Characters:
A horror story often has weak characters and this one has this flaw too but to a lesser degree.The MC though boring had some development while the only other character worth mentioning is the antagonist.She emits a type of aura that is perfectly suitable for a character like her and she successfully executes her role of doing everything that she was supposed to do.
Enjoyment:
It was enjoyable as it creeped the hell out of me.
Overall:
It was a nice read and also had a decent scary ending.And it also reestablishes the fact that horror mangas can be good as well as creepy at the same time.

The story is about a boy who often get labelled as a pervert in various awkward situations.Then he meets a "pickup artist" and his life takes a turn for the good.Well it is not something that hasn't been done before.A simple but an entertaining plot is the USP of this manhwa. The comic elements are well scripted and the romance has just the right pace and flavor to it.Moreover this manhwa can also act as a guidebook for many for us.

Art is astounding in this one.The characters are well drawn and their is a nice brightness which sets the atmosphere quite perfectly.

The MCs are ... nicely written , especially the "pickup artist".Though character development is slow in this one,it does not feel rushed.The scenes involving the MCs are often the most hilarious ones.The side characters are scattered here and there but are not useless and often fulfill their motives

10/10 nothing more....nothing less

I had a good time reading it and will recommend it to anyone who wants a roller coaster ride of pure fun and romance.
