The show started off very strong but as I progressed, my interest in the show dwindled. It almost felt like I had to force myself to keep watching it. Initially, I rated this show an 8/10, but perhaps my nostalgia for Inuyasha and my overexcitement clouded my judgment.

I understand the show is about the offspring of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru but it was frustrating that old characters, the parents more specifically, were cut out from the story. It was like they were discarded. It's one thing to leave a little mystery for viewers to wonder about the parents but to do that entire season is ... a bit much. As a watcher, I felt lead on astray. Also, the battles against the antagonists seem to be too easy in comparison to Inuyasha; they weren't as catastrophic. Lastly, a romantic pairing revealed in the show was off-putting, to put it lightly.

Aside from that, the art was beautiful. I loved how to it stayed true to the same style as the predecessor Inuyasha. The three protagonists grew on me (with Moroha being my favorite), despite my issues with Yashahime. Moreover, I enjoyed ED 1, OP 2, and ED 2. The OSTs were fine but nothing really stood out to me as spectacular.

By the end of S1, the drama finally picked up a bit. The ending, I felt, made up for some of the show's shortcomings.

This show has a ton of potential and I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. But, I'll give the 2nd season a chance since there's still so much story and background to discover.

Overall, I made up my mind and rated it a 6/10 because it was alright. But I'll issue a fair warning for Inuyasha lovers, watch this without expectations or else you'll be let down.

This anime really is not my cup of tea and after Episode 1, I originally rated K-On! a 5.

I rated it a 5, because I'll have to be transparent here: this anime has no groundbreaking plot. It's as fluffy as cotton candy with no real drama or conflict. I tend to be drawn to animes that are full of drama or action that keeps me on the edge of my seat. Even though I initially rated it low, I did not hate it, so I gave it another chance out of boredom. And let me tell you, I'm very pleased that I didn't drop it! ...

This anime has a change of pace from what I'm used to. For once, I'm not crying or feeling anxious while watching an anime. I'm at peace. I'm relaxed. This anime is very soothing and funny.

And for the anime to not have a thick plot, it does an amazing job at characterization in such a limited amount of episodes (for this season). I felt connected to these characters. I felt involved. I fell in love with all of them and adore their friendship.

The art style is beautiful and adorable and the soundtracks/background music is melodic and suits every scene.

I recommend this anime to those who want a break from action-packed, emotional, drama-filled animes with rollercoaster-like plots. This anime will make you laugh and put you at ease with its fluffy plot.

I look forward to watching the second season!

Afterlost started off very shaky initially and seemed all over the place. It was difficult keeping up with the story and names of characters. Frankly, I wasn't sold on the first episode or the few that followed it. It wasn't horrible, it was average is all.

The plot continually hopped all over the place throughout but by the 6th or 7th episode, I was able to keep up. But still, this made understanding the plot super confusing.

One of the greatest weaknesses was that majority of the characters were flat and static, which made it hard to connect with them as a viewer. I didn't ... mind the bad CGI in action scenes as much as I minded the one-dimensional characters.

The only scene that was done well was the scene about the two brothers, Tsubasa and Yoshiaki -- this, is what I believe to be the show's saving grace for me. For once, I FELT something while watching the series. I felt connected to a set of characters for once. And it seemed that following this scene, I felt for other characters along the way...but at this point, I was about 10/12 episodes in.

I'd say I enjoyed this anime nonetheless, so I give it a 7/10. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't phenomenal either.
