If I look at the general premise of this show, I would say that I enjoyed it very much. It fits my expectations and the MC is badass and OP. My perfect cup of tea.

What this show fails to execute is the proper handling of its side characters. It's been a month or so since I finished this anime, and I could only count on one hand the names of the characters that really stick out. The side characters are just too many and a lot of them don't really have personalities, or they're just there to fit an archetype, and they don't impact ... the story in any way at all. I understand that it's a school anime, but there's just too many involved, and too little of them actually contributes anything to the plot or the main characters' character development. That said, there are some side characters that I actually look forward to when they're on the screen, but since the show introduced so many, it spends less time on each character so it's not fulfilling at all.

Also, the incest. Good lord. I would prefer if it's just hinted, but this show really slaps your face with the incest without it being lewd. Which I don't really know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, considering that (at least) they're not making out, but at the same time, it's so heavily implied and their scenes have so much tension and drama, that I just want them to f*ck each other, just so I could be grossed out and completely drop the show. But since none of the actual making out and f*cking happens, I actually finished the whole and still in this weird limbo of debating whether to drop the next seasons or watch it and endure.

Moreover, I think, while it tries to explain the science behind the magic, the explanations doesn't really help me understand it better; instead it just spends too much time explaining gibberish that I'm pretty sure the audience doesn't care to fully understand. While I admire the attempt, the scriptwriter should have explained the concepts as simple and as quickly as possible, and in a way that it would make it's importance known over and over again through different magic fights.
