School Days is not your typical anime series, it's a diversion to the past few shounen series I'm hooked to. I knew of the series when some of my roommates started watching it, and me being eternally curious, began watching it too.
Simply put, the anime is basically a part of reality for us teenagers, most of us are controlled by our hormones. Take Itou Makoto, the male protagonist of the series, as an example. He's the typical teenager guy that we see everyday at school: doesn't care about the world, listens to music, and secretly peeks at some girls in a perverted way.
He fell in
...
love with a girl he met on the train while heading to school. It was a normal love at first sight, and given the girl's beauty, he took a pic with his phone, which is a known " charm" to students.
But, the series has a darker, or should I say, more perverted meaning than the usual boy-meets-girl in an anime series.
Makoto, Sekai, and Kotonoha had a boy-bridge-girl relationship which got more and more complicated as the series continued. The plot was twisted enough to be as real as it gets.
The characters, especially Makoto and his girlS [yes, I capitalized the 'S' on purpose], have their own unique personalities and maybe, just maybe, you may relate to them, especially if you have experienced teen love.
But, the part I love the most is the ending of the series, because it was really shocking, and gave me creeps for the time being. Well, it ended Makoto's infinite loop of girls and at the same time, Sekai's paranoia.
The art and animation were all good, and there is even "fanservice" throughout the series [the close-up on the girl parts, especially on Kotonoha].
I'd recommend this to a person who is in a good mood, since I saw my friend [who just had a recent heartbreak] broke down while watching the series. There is something in School Days that stings to the reality of life that more or less, you'll relate.

Before watching Brotherhood, I've watched the original series few years back. FMA 1 was good and awesome too, but the thing I hated about it is that the ending is not tragic and is not satisfying. So, knowing that there was an another adaptation of the series made me all curious about it.
Since I enjoyed watching Brotherhood, I never realized I finised watching the whole thing in just one week.
"Why?", you may ask? Well, at the first few episodes, the pacing of the plot was pretty fast, for someone who have watched the original FMA before. But, if you were not aware of the original
...
series, maybe the pacing would be okay for you. It was not as detailed as the first series, but since there are new additions to the plot, new friends and enemies, and fuller character development, especially with Winry [who was just a minor supporting character in the original series] and of course, with the Elric Brothers, you won't bother about the pacing and embrace these awesome changes instead.
The story plot was different from the original FMA; the first 6 episodes were adapted from FMA1, and the next episodes were all different. Since this plot was faithful to the manga, you'll be surprised... and happy, that there are new things to discover in Brotherhood, as I've mentioned above. The addition of the east country of Xing and the northern Briggs, and their corresponding characters, was like a breath of fresh air to the series, as we can see and expect more stories and more types of alchemy and auto-mail. Also, the origins, forms, and the battles against the homunculi were totally different too. The fight scenes were all amazing. Yes, there are bloodbaths here and there, but that's the part I love the most while watching them fight, whether by weapons, alchemy, or simply a fist-to-fist battle.
Maybe the part I love the most in watching FMA is on the last few episodes. The ending was simply touching, since Edward still sacrificed something for his younger brother, but in Brotherhood, he sacrificed something different... and less tragic. I also loved the part where Ed, Al, and Hohenheim worked together when they fought with Father, and I simply cried when Hohenheim said to Trisha's grave that he's happy that at last, Edward called him "Dad". The ending of FMA 1 was disturbing and not really satisfying, whereas in the ending of Brotherhood, you will love it so much you will wish for a sequel... or an afterstory perhaps.
The art and animation in Brotherhood was clearer, more crisp, and lot more contemporary than the original, as expected from a recently-produced series. I'm not really that particular about how the anime was drawn or animated, but Brotherhood was one of the exemptions to it. The battles were not crappy, and I really got creeped out when the "immortal army" was released [the white doll-like humans] from the Central underground.
The seiyuus have done a good job in portraying their roles in Brotherhood, especially Ed and Al's. I also love the OPs and EDs used in Brotherhood, especially "Hologram", which was the second OP and surprisingly the last ED of the series. The background music used were perfectly synched with the scenes in a particular episode. After watching the series, you will definitely want to listen to the whole OST.
All of the kinds of characters in Brotherhood-- from the heroes, supporting characters, new characters, and to the villains-- it wasn't possible NOT to love at least one of these kinds. I even loved the character of Greed, who was a bad-turned-good character, and in the end, found satisfaction from his comrades. Also, the guys from Xing were also amazing, especially May, which inspired Al to study eastern alchemy in the latter parts of the story. Also, the addition of Alex Armstrong's older sister was also awesome, and also one of my favorite new characters.
And most especially, I love how Winry was turned into a REALLY important character in the series, and how Ed masked his OBVIOUS liking to her.
I loved the series. I laughed with it. I cried like a baby, especially whenever Ed shows his selfless nii-san love for Al. I was intrigued with every ending of the episode, which was one of the reasons I finished the whole thing in a week. The series was not a disappointment in my part, and it made me wish that all of the other remakes would be AS GOOD as this. This is a quick recommend to my friends who love to watch shounen and for those who were familiar with the original FMA, because Brotherhood was told in the manga's point of view, and the story came in full circle in the end.
Right now, I am suffering from a post-anime series depression, which I think will last a few weeks or more. It's not because the series was bad, rather, Brotherhood was too good for me to finish quickly. All my friends who've watched Brotherhood had the same feeling: the feeling of not watching any anime series for a few weeks before moving on, since when you finished watching Brotherhood, it would feel that a part of you ended with it. After watching the series, I was stunned for a few minutes, and told myself "This is it; I finished FMA Brotherhood. What will happen next?"
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a good addition to the anime series you should watch before you die [LOL, but seriously]. If you like more action, NO filler episodes, and a satisfying ending, this one's for you.

To put it: Dengeki Daisy is not your common shoujo manga.
STORY : 10/10
This story is purely original. I'm serious, after reading the first 10 chapters of DD, I dropped reading most of the flowery shoujo manga I had.
My reason? When you laugh, you laugh until your oxygen supplies run out. When you go all "Kya~!", you wake up your roommate or your neighbor. When the plot gets serious, you take time to understand everything. When the story gets touching, fat tears come down from your tears. When you got confused, you go back to reread. When you get angry with a character, you curse them
...
with all your might.
Intrigued? Go ahead. Read it!
ART : 10/10
The characters were drawn great, but not to the extent that you'll be drowned in flowery stuff. Kurosaki Tasuku was drawn... HOT.
Oh, my fangirl fantasies with him.
CHARACTER : 10/10
Kurebayashi Teru is your typical girl: not necessarily the "damsel-in-distress" type and she can save herself most of the time. I can say that she's really witty and not as gullible as she looks. She's not a weakling, and although on the first parts of the manga she was often bullied, as the story progresses, she's much a strong girl as she is.
Kurosaki Tasuku is the most badass guy leads I've ever seen. He really is a good guy at heart, but he's a PERVY, MEAN BULLY in front of Teru. He's not the perfect guy you can hope that could exist... and that's the main reason why I love him. He's there for Teru and at the same time, he loves to make her miserable.
ENJOYMENT : 10/10
I enjoyed reading it. I wait IMPATIENTLY for the next chapters every month, but every update is worth it. It made me laugh. It made me cry. It made me mad.
OVERALL : 10/10
One thing I want to say to Motomi Kyousuke:
MAKE THIS AN ANIME SERIES SOON, PLEASE? :)
[Again... intrigued? Haha. Go ahead. Read the manga. NOW]

Kiss, kiss, fall in love!
All I can say is that: this is one of the shoujo anime I've enjoyed from episode 1 to 26. What can I say, I finished the whole series in just one night.
STORY : 9/10
I love the story, from the time Haruhi entered the Host Club room, to their wacky costumes, club events, TO the time someone FINALLY realized he's in love with her [name censored to avoid spoiler!], I enjoyed it. :) I laughed with the crazy twins, go Kya~ with Hani-senpai, the know-it-all Kyouya, the deadly silent Mori-sensei, and finally, the EVER-SLOW, but still very sweet, Tamaki Suoh.
ART :
...
9/10
I love their chibi forms, that all I can say. And their Ouran High uniforms rock too, as they fit for being the uniform for a RICH school. :D
(I love the way they portray Tamaki's sulky days though. XD)
SOUND : 9/10
"Sakura Kiss" was fit for being the opening song. It was catchy, and found myself putting the song to repeat during the first few months after listening to it. :)) I'm hooked at the orchestral vibe of most of the songs in the OST, fit for the "royal"-like setting of the series.
CHARACTER : 10/10
You'll love EVERYONE from the Host Club, even the manager herself. XD Every character has their own strength... and weakness. Not everyone's story was told here though, since the anime has only 26 episodes, but that's fine. :)
ENJOYMENT : 10/10
Like I've said earlier, I finished the whole thing fast. :)) I found myself itching for more (I go for Tamaki and Haruhi forever!) so I didn't realize I reached until the end of the series.
Overall, this is a 9 for me. :) When my friends ask for shoujo recommendations this anime is #1 on my list. If you want to fall in love and laugh at the same time, this anime's for you. :D

Before watching "Fairy Tail", I've read and watched Rave Master, which was made by the same person, Hiro Mashima.
So, watching Fairy Tail is just like watching Rave Master, but this time, I am NOT disappointed with this one :)
STORY: 9/10. All the story arcs (from "Daybreak", up to "Edolas", which is on air right now) were portrayed really good and is faithful to the manga. There are some filler arcs (like the Dragonoid one) and episodes (episode 50!) though, but you wouldn't notice it since you're really enjoying every episode. The story arcs are not that long, but long enough for you to get the
...
whole picture. For me, Jellal's story arc is the best one yet.
ART: 9/10. All the characters where drawn good, although you'll really see the similarities between Rave and FT. Natsu = Haru; Gray = Musica; Lucy = Ellie; Sieg Hart = Jellal/Siegfried/Mystogan (I know. @-)); and some more to come. See, even Plue's with Natsu and the gang in this one. Animation's done well too :)
SOUND: 10/10. The OPs and EDs are really good and catchy, even the OVA has its own OP and ED. All of the seiyuu who contributed to the OST (especially Kakihara Tetsuya!) were awesome. The BGMs (especially the Kan Kan and the Pomp and Circumstance) were also really appropriate with the scenes.
CHARACTER: 10/10. There is no main character here; everyone in Fairy Tail, even the "evil ones", have/had/will have their shining moments here. Still, my favorite will be Team Natsu, especially Gray. So yeah, I got this huge crush on the guy who strips a lot (LOL). All the guys and girls' personalities are portrayed perfectly (i.e, Gray's stripping habit, Natsu's motion sickness, Erza's sweet cravings, and many more...) as if you know them personally.
ENJOYMENT: 10/10. I've watched (and dropped some) shounen anime before, but Fairy Tail is one of those that I won't be bored of for at least hundred more episodes.
OVERALL: 10/10. All anime has their own flaws and strengths, and it's up to the watchers to stay with it or leave it. For me, I guess Hiro Mashima did another good job in making me addicted to his works... again. Though not the best anime in the world, I must say that since I'm looking forward for another episode per week, I'm hooked.
Oh yeah, Happy and Aisaka Taiga's (from Toradora!) seiyuu are the same. FYI though. :D
Enjoy watching!

I downloaded this series after looking at my anime recommendations. I must admit, the first two episodes made me watch the whole thing [it's only 13 episodes though] in just one night.
STORY : 8/10. Although I understood the whole story, it only happened after watching the last episode. The plot was too rushed to fit into only thirteen 25-minute episodes, thus not all backstories are told. Still, I loved the story of every episode, especially with Yui and Hinata and it made me cry. Yeah, I hoped that everybody's backstory (especially TK's! :D) were told before they have passed on.
ART: 10/10. The anime was beautifully
...
drawn. And the lighting's good. The animation is also good, especially Operation: Tornado, where Girls DeMo performed.
SOUND: 10/10. The OP (My Soul, Your Beats!), ED1 (Brave Song), and ED2 (Ichiban no Takaramono) were awesome! I love Girls Dead Monster a lot, I even downloaded their whole album. The piano and orgel versions of Ichiban were also good. BTW, Ichiban no Takaramono made me cry buckets.
CHARACTER: 9/10. I loved everyone of them, especially Kanade. Her development was evident throughout the whole anime, from being a foe to an ally. Otonashi was one of the good-humored anime characters that I've known, and his backstory touched my heart. :)
ENJOYMENT: 9/10. There were a LOT of funny moments, and at the same time, some tearjerkers. The series tugged into my heartstrings, and made me realize that being alive is awesome!
OVERALL: 9/10. This anime will steal your hearts :) And enjoy!

This, so far, is the BEST animanga I've ever read/watched.
STORY: 10/10. The whole synopsis of the anime was simply astounding, from the start to finish. :)
ART: 10/10. The anime was perfect, in art's perspective.
SOUND: 10/10, because primarily, I loved the soundtrack!
CHARACTER: 10/10. Technically, I am (and always will be) pro-Light. I am really curious of what would've happened if he succeeded.
...
ENJOYMENT: 10/10. Although I watched at least 5 shows a day until I reached ep. 20 (summer class), I finished 21-37 in just one sitting, no fast-forwards, no skips. Every end of the episode you'll be craving more.
OVERALL: 10/10. If you haven't watched this anime nor read the manga, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO WATCH/READ THIS, whether you're a newbie or not. This is one of the first anime I've ever watched and one of those shows that you'll never forget. :)
