Simply, anyone can die, no matter who it is. - Both anime have some sort of powerful weapons like mechas in Code Geass and legendary weapons powered with magic extracted from demonic beasts

Likewise story surrounding the fate of humanity and its survival. - Shingeki no Kyojin and Owari no Seraph both can be categorized into similar kind of post-apocalyptic world. - Both of the series have been produced by the same animation studio (Wit Studio) and have Sawano Hiroyuki as soundtrack composer. So, you can expect some mind losing music. - Humanity seems to be at the brink of extinction in both series and is endangered by another species (titans - vampires). - In both series, the MC joins the squad battling against the enemy and seeks revenge for their deceased family. - The animation style is quite similar.
