Actually a really good read, great characters, artwork is decent, premise is well-done, and overall story is pretty fantastic.

Just as you get tired of a murim plot point it concludes the arc, gives a good cliffhanger, then throws the MC back to the modern world - rinse and repeat. While the MC is pretty generic for the most part - the supporting cast are all really interesting and their dialogue makes for lots of hilarious situations. Thankfully the MC frequently has challenges in combat, and his insane strength gains make a decent amount of sense (with him regularly hopping inside a murim-based hyperbolic time chamber). ... The "game-ification" also doesn't get too in the way, as it often does in this genre. Foreshadowing is impressive, and the storypoints are frequently dynamic enabling some interesting conclusions. MC's master genuinely made me tear up multiple times, and there is lots of fun plot-twists along the way. A 9/10 murim story with a 7/10 modern-hunter story, but the juxtaposition makes for great synergy enabling you to thirst for double the plot progression - this balancing act is done excellently.

Overall does everything you should expect from this genre well, along with a slew of fun cast members. An added bonus I literally laughed out loud multiple times throughout the story.

I'm an elitist pig anime watcher, and while I act like I know something (and literally know nothing), there is one true aspect I'm an expert in - overpowered MC trash. Is this show generic? Yes. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it genuinely pretty good? In my opinion, 100%.

A big fan of the manga, the backstory of the main characters turn out to be great. Rick's party Orihalcon Fist is fun on screen, the waifus are cute, and the production is surprisingly good. While the world building and magic system is rehashed and generic, the self-aware humour keeps it a little fresh and the lovable ... "40-something" year old MC makes me feel young and hopeful. The following arc is great - Broughston's past in the manga honestly made me tear up.

If you're a fan of overpowered MC trash I'd definitely recommend "Shinmai Ossan Boukensha". If you don't yet have this aquired taste then maybe this show isn't for you and you'll think this review is batsh*t insane.

With pristine animation, beautiful characters, and a compelling story - One of the greatest fantasy adventure mangas ever, Sousou no Frieren, has been perfectly immortalized in animation.

Each episode Freiren retraces the steps of her favourite 10-year adventure to try and grasp an understanding of humanity that her near-immortal race so frequently struggles with. Interacting with her own past culminates in bittersweet memories juxtaposed by the wholesome modern-day cast being nothing other than fun on screen. Characters are great, with realistic emotions and interactions, and the interesting world is fleshed out masterfully as the group goes along their adventure to the north.

The animation and art is ... overall amazing, however Stark's first fight scene made me desire a few more extra frames, and the sound design lacks some vigour. That being said I'm certain that the latter half of the series will make up in abundance as the troupe finds themselves further and further in dangerous territory.

While I can see it not being of everyone's taste - for me this is one of the best fantasy adventure series of all time, and currently shaping up to my favourite anime of this season (and one of my GOATs). If you enjoy slice of life adventure series you'd be a fool to not atleast give this series a try!

More JJK is always welcomed: the first season is an amazing definition of shounen done right, and has some of the best fight scenes of all of anime; the film is essentially more of the same and its a welcome addition to ther story, albeit it falls into the shounen traps more often; this season feels slightly different.

Although it starts with a history lesson on Gojo's background, his time at school is far from comfortable. This season is REALLY happy to subvert your expectations with gory and down-right disturbing plot points. The final part of episode 3 and epsiode 4 are chilling, especially as Gojo's ... real character comes to light.

While the early pacing (episode 1-4) is definitely odd, as soon as the gang is back on the screen intensity is turned to 11... My god this is one of the best shounen arcs I've ever witnessed. The characters are great, the fights are beautifully crafted, the storyline is compelling, and the show really knows how to keep the tension as thick as butter.

With exciting fight scenes every episode and down right chilling storypoints, this season is a MUST WATCH for any shounen fan.

Carried by extremely nice artwork, this isekai/game-like fantasy series is generic to a T. Characters are sadly very mono-tone albeit enjoyable, world building is lackluster but relatively fun, combat scenes are... surprisingly great. Overall good - an easy recommendation for fans of this genre.

The fun of this series exists in how the simple characters interact with the decent world. How the MC abuses his game mechanics gets a minmaxer like myself hyped up, assisted by the beautifully drawn panels. The fights are pretty great, smart decision making from the characters makes for oddly sensible conclusions to otherwise "impossible" fights.

Shame to say, not a single character ... in this series stands out as being particularly deep, however it can be said that the ones with annoying traits dont stick around too much (unlike most isekai series). The end of the Father's character arc, and the MC finding his first party-member comes across as realistic. Never did character interactions break my immersion or feel insulting to my brain.

The first 48 chapters are super formulaic. Find dungeon, make absurd amount of money due to MC's prior game knowledge, risk lives, somehow win. There is little to no danger in this series even though it would like you to think there is, and the MC seems to be either a genius or severely lacking risk aversion (Personally I think a sheltered nobleman's son should be more fearsome, but alas).

In general, just a decent amount of fun.

Textbook generic Manhwa with an overpowered MC who acts disparagingly to everyone he meets like a child. The start is pretty fun, however large swathes of the fights are completely unreadable due to terrible artwork - this eventually gets better after the original artist gets fired. The middle of the series becomes a fightfest, which could be cool if the fighting wasn't so boring. The later half of the series where the artist starts to learn from their mistakes is pretty enjoyable and the main story reaches some very satisfying conclusions.

The dialogue is frequently atrocious - the writer seems to love make the characters call ... special items or moves "that" so frequently that its annoying. The MC is obnoxious and completely uninteresting, nearing the end of the story he had his single scene of decent characterisation where he reflects on the stress of becoming the "guardian". Self-aware side-characters make up for the lacking MC and mediocre dialogue. His Yandere love triangle is also pretty cute.

World-building is rather decent, the story behind the tower and their floors, the whole idea of "achievements", and the multiple dimensions all make for an interesting read - however all are rather under-utilized, having fantasy characters along the lines of the Fate series would have been very welcome in this story.

Extremely average series, lots of the presented ideas could have resulted in a much better series with more thoughtful artists at the helm.
Only read if you're in love with this kind of generic manhwa OP MC series.

An easy recommendation for anyone who even slightly likes romance. Super realistic tone with a bunch of believable and likable characters. Surprisingly stays fun and fresh while much the same continues to happen. Romance elements are very wholesome and hard to hate on. I feel like this series has weirdly high potential...

All of the characters are super realistiic, and very relatable. The dialogue is entertaining and the overarching story is fitting - while maintaining a sense of realism many romance manga frequently forget. I'm looking forward to how the characterization is done for volume 3 and onwards, this series could have a genuinely great story ... to tell and I hope it meets expectations!

Only downside is a small amount of the art could be higher quality, however the series' current presentation suits the smokey atmosphere behind a supermarket at night well.

Much like the prior season the characters are still stupid and unrealistic, and the shockingly bad comedic timing still kills EVERY emotional scene. That being said the show is carried by 10/10 animation, and awesome action scenes. When the pacing is good this show is great. When it slows down, and the dialogue plus """"hUm0Ur"""" rears it's ugly head, the series becomes a real struggle to watch. Recommended for: Fans of the previous series, or those who don't mind terrible characterisation.

The characters are genuinely invincible... This classic shounen trope has NEVER been abused as much as in Demon Slayer, and it causes every fight to ... have 0 tension - much like the previous arc, the final fight intentionally baits the viewer by generating hollow dramatic moments. The comedy is distracting and is CONSTANTLY used to kill all form of drama or tension, it feels like the writer has two personalities: One who wrote the interesting world, cool martial arts, and nice action set pieces; The other whom writes hack jokes and terrible characters.

But hey, the characterisation, story, and falsified drama doesn't really matter when they're throwing hands - or well, swords.

Yo... There is no reason for this manga to be as good as it is. It starts out as a typical overpowered MC comedy, but goddamn - the characters, the artwork, and even the jokes all make for a really entertaining manga. Must try for people who enjoy overpowered character stories or goofy action comedies.

The start is definitely cliché and it seems like the only thing going for the series is the "everybody overestimates the MC", however the story quickly steps up to bat. Within the first 10 chapters it has some rather funny moments, picks up the pace to start an interesting adventure, and ... sheds light on each of the characters - unveiling them to have some good backstories (Blowstone's story was genuinely great).

Artwork is super high quality, with the fights being easy to read and unexpectedly awesome. How dialogue is placed on each page is also something of note, and all of the character's designs are rather decent.

By the nature of the genre, having a bunch of overpowered characters goofing around, the series has some limitations. Personally I think some more romance wouldn't go amiss, as its hinted at but quickly forgotten. Otherwise a decently strong recommendation from me.

Decently entertaining, hard to rate it higher than a 6 because everything about it is rather average. Read if you're a fan of wholesome characters and simple isekais.

The world building is pretty good, even with all of the isekai-game tropes the world seems rather fleshed out and lived in. A large part of the reason why is because all of the characters are super sweet creating a bubbly friendly atmosphere for the entire series. The MC is a cutie; Lusha, his partner, is also a giant cutie; 90% of the side characters are all giant cuties. Combat scenes are drawn pretty well and for the ... most part they're easy to understand. Art overall is decent.

To the detriment of the story it continues with ultra generic isekai-game tropes, which doesn't help with immersion. The relationships between the 3 summoned Japanese people isn't explored anywhere near enough to hint at them being such great friends, they seemed to just become fully trusting of each other within half an hour. Even with the most dramatic story point so far it never felt like the characters were even remotely close to danger.

To make this a better series it needed to have more substance: ecchi, romance, comedy, drama, or violence. Any of these would benefit this story a large amount as without it the chapter-to-chapter content isn't especially satisfying.
