Koe No Katachi is a movie that abuses the bullying cliche and is done pretty well and would be better if the series were 12 episodes and not a movie with very little development to the characters and characters like Yuzu feeling very unrealistic and Ishida's friend group forming feeling very off. The movie starts off great with everyones past and how everything started and the bullying that Nishimiya had to go through as a child mostly from Ishida. Ishida is the only child that got in trouble by taking it too far with little knowledge, Once he is grown up is looked down

on and tries his hardest to fix everything and improve himself as a person not loving himself and trying to care for others. Most of the movie was him building his friendship and him questioning what a friend really means with him not being able to really look at anyone after he was caught bullying in grade 6. His friend group is really the low point of the movie being somewhat pointless and feeling unrealistic with some characters just somehow all get along so quickly, the only character that is done well in this friend group is Ueno which is a sort a antagonist of the movie being that girl that is the like pretty douchey character that thinks Nishimiya had ruined her friend group and her hatred for Nishimiya for not understanding that she didnt want her to be around in grade 6 because of her disability. The fireworks scene felt too rushed but still emotional build up to that scene was still done great but can't help but feel the movie was underwhelming after that scene while he was in hospital. The movie ends with Ishida being able to recover from his blindness of him not being able to look at other peoples faces and everyone being all happy.
The bullying in the movie was done really well, for example the scene where Nishimiya had to talk in front of the class and just Ishida mocking her disability felt realistic but taken a bit too far. Another thing done really well was the X on peoples faces. While Nishimiya is deaf, Ishida is blind because of his past he cant stand to look at anyone the scene at the end of the movie where Nishimiya told him it was ok to look down while they walked meant with Nishimiya being the eyes for Ishida's blindness while he was the ears for Nishimiya .Overall the movie was good with some flaws I was a little bit disappointed though.
