Fast Paced and Beautiful Battle Shonen; the art is fantastic and is able to capture and convey abstract feelings well such as insane speed or vast/overpowering magical spells to give scale and scope to the world. The power scaling and magic system make sense appear to have good scale and progression.

story has not gotten to it yet but the lore and world outside of the initial magical town/academy are building to be very interesting and a larger part of the story than the first academy arc.
The quality of the characters varies from very good to alright and then sadly not used enough when they have great depth to them (AKA Professor Edward). I personally came to the Manga after watching the anime and do think that the anime edges out the manga from the reading/viewing experience for pure fun/entertainment; I found the animation and pacing to be phenomenal. To give the Manga credit though the translations/text do a good job of explaining the intricacies of the world especially around the wands vs swords aspect.
Very much looking forward to more of the story and any subsequent seasons that get released; season 2 is going to be gorgeous IMO
