Melo Holic opens with its first chapters tricking you into thinking it is and entirely a romantic story.

What picked my interest mainly was not the romance but how it was presented. The ML and FL get together early in the manhwa, and though romance falls in the background, it still carries its importance in the story. After they get together, the actual plot is unraveled engagingly. The writing and pacing are excellent, nothing feels forced nor rushed. It is one of those works where it seems the author started writing with the end in mind.

The art is simple. The only remarkable point is ... how the color palette along with the writing set the perfect ambiance for the story. Nothing more comes to mind without spoiling. This was an enjoyable and entertaining reading. The suspense gets heavier in the last 15 chapters.

This one is a promotional work for a drama of the same name (King the land). Although 21 chapters is way more than what a promotion usually gets, it is not enough to pack the whole story. Time skips start around chapter 14 so if you have any plans of reading this, keep in mind that this cannot pack 16 episodes ( 1 hour 10 min each) in only 21 chapters.

This being said, this is a work that I enjoyed reading. The pacing up to the time skips is great. And even with the time skips, the story they show us is condensed ... in the most important so we can fill in the gaps with our imagination or watching the drama. It does have a conclusion so it is one point in its favor. The art is very pleasant to the eye. From the same artist that worked on "Who made me a princess".

This is a nice 90 min reading if you don't mind the time skips.

Tacit is a manhwa that sets the right atmosphere from the very beginning thanks to its art, story telling and panel distribution. The story itself is evolves around one line and doesn't dig deeper into side stuff like giving us detailed explanations on why Tacit's world is how it is, giving more depth to side characters, or significant character development for the main characters. These few things could make a story feel more "complete". I don't mean to say that Tacit isn't "complete" but it lacks the impact that other readings have. I doubt I will remember this story in 6 months ... or 2 years since it doesn't give you a lot to ponder on or "side stuff" to relate to.

Tacit is a nice reading. My take is that we don't need to make a story 30 - 80 chapters longer to have a pleasant reading. The atmosphere is set properly so its story telling and lenght. I just want to make clear that it had the potential to had a long lasting impression on us.

I'd say Dice is an above average manhwa, however, it is not an insanely good one that you will think of as a masterpiece or a manhwa that will leave a long-lasting impression. Slightly above average is not quite right since it has pretty good art and the first half of the manhwa was actually good.

The story of dice in a nutshell is that of a bullied kid with no outstanding features but his courage which he shows until he gets "dice". In this world teens who get special dices can use them on anything they wish, like super human abilities, being more intelligent ... in a certain subject or improving how they look. A being called "x" distributes the dice among the teens in exchange of completing the quests he gives them. Early in the story X forces the teens to fight and do nasty things in order to get dice. The main character fights and improves his stats to fight X.

Art (7.7): The style isn't outstanding or different but it is well drawn and detailed. After the 100th chapter it gets good and there are some panels now and then where you will find yourself staring at it for longer than usual. (Good enough for a wallpaper)

Characters (6):The main character doesn't have a great backstory but his character development in the first half is good. Some secondary characters have a better backstory but they get little development. They are part of the story but behave pretty much in the same way they would as in the first ten chapters. The only exception here is Mio. Taebin also has a bit of character development but his screen time is cut then. I didn't find the cast of characters boring but they just lacked actual development and I could also find myself accurately guessing what they'd do.

Story (6.5): In the first half it was entertaining with excitement and getting hooked on what will happen next. The second half didn't present any new characters or development of the same quality as the first half. It wasn't quite boring but more than a few times I thought that I was reading a long chapter.

Entertainment(6.6): The first half was pretty good, it got me thinking about what I read for a few min after reading. The second half, I just lost my interest eventually in the story.

Overall: 6.67

You should give this manhwa a try if you have spare time. If not, I'd suggest reading the first 15-20 chapters, you will have a good idea of the setting and how it will be for the first half, then decide on whether to drop it or not. You might like it way more than what I did, or might want to just drop it and move on to something else from your plan to read list.
