Kokkoku

A must-see for all time-traveling enthusiasts. Steins;Gate explores the multitude of possibilities in the course of time as it unforlds (from a point in the past onwards) while Kokkoku is about entering a co-called stasis, a frozen frame, a single moment in time where some have the "power" to interact while the rest of the world around them is like an unmovable picture. S;G starts off really slowly but at some point BAM! it hits you strong and accelerates. Kokkoku is going fast (oh the irony!) from sec one. There's lots of violence in both cases, if you have a weak stomach better avoid them during lunch time.

Mob Psycho 100

Psychic powers: It does seem as if it's more trouble than pleasure to actually have them. At least this is the case for oh-so-cool&clueless Mob and super-cute&lovable Kotoura. Genre-wise Mob Psycho 100 is 100% shounen-battle material while Kotoura-san is a high-school drama romcom. Lots of laughs in both cases though. And bzzz dzzzz psychic powers are a sine qua non.

An adventure? Yes. A journey? Indeed. Hard decisions? Yup. Monsters? Of course. Lovely characters? You bet. Tears? I'm sorry, most probably yes. A little laugh? Thankfully yes. In both cases, the MCs -along with people they care about- take a long, harsh journey in order to achieve a goal/meet their fate, something that initially appears to be impossible. Clear up your schedule, once you start following them, you'll be hooked for good.

Kamisama Hajimemashita

The cutest devils/spirits help out two clueless Misses in their daily tasks. [Sakuma is a part-timer in a detective-exorcist's office and Nanami is a newly appointed land Goddess.] Kamisama is more of a romance, while Azazel is naughtier, yet both are definitely comedies introducing the cutest little devils ever.

Fune wo Amu

If you're skilled in the arts of language then you'll find both shows enjoyable, as the written word is the basic element of these shows. "Fune wo Amu" puts emphasis on definitions and alternative meanings of words, while the main character in "Barakamon" is occupied with their curves and their forms - as he's a calligraphy artist. Compared to light, sunny and quite funny "Barakamon", "Fune wo Amu" is a little heavier, which fits perfectly the fact that it's about the creation of dictionary -and, you know, dictionaries tend to be thick volumes. All in all, if words make you happy, your linguistic taste will be satisfied by this pair.

On the surface, it might seem absurd to put an adventure/fantasy and a sports anime in one "basket" but if one looks beyond the two utterly different genres, similarities can be found. Firstly, one of the main themes in both cases is teamwork. May it be a dungeon boss fight or a basketball cup showdown, one can't win solo, team/party connection-collaboration is a core requirement in order to achieve the goal. What is mostly similar though it's the fact that victory is certainly not a random fact based on luck or the outcome of the actions of one OP MC. What both shows emphasize is that a good strategy is absolutely necessary. A well thought plan that implements the characters' super powers. Yup, there are super powers exhibited in both anime, which augment the thrill of each encounter that occurs as the plot unfolds. So, if you enjoy tactics and team play, these two series are made for you.

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

Honestly, there's nothing similar between the two series. But! They both do love the art of storytelling and explore it thoroughly. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu follows the traditional way as it also unfolds the history of Rakugo while the Monogatari series take narrative into the future. I think that all four-eyes, literary types and bookworms will be happy to have their minds blown away by both of them.
