I was bored by this anime and confused why everyone likes it.

The pacing is weird throughout and doesn’t build adequately to the end. The whole show felt like an introduction where I was waiting to get some real plot development then we had very quick deepening of the plot, but without real character development.

I didn’t care about any of the characters and it isn’t explained well why the characters are about each other. All but the ML we’re extremely flat.

There were some interesting concepts brought up, but they weren’t fleshed out well.
This is a 7 at best, but I personally think its ... more like a 5.5.

Toraware-hime is an S&M story. If you can appreciate sadomasochism, you’ll enjoy this story. Since it’s short, there isn’t much character development. Just enough smut to keep you entertained. I like that it wasn’t the typical gushy romantic storyline. For being more S&M than other smuts and pacing:8.

The second story is a bit weird in regards to the protoganists’ relationship with her parents, but it’s a short story. Not as interesting a plot as the main story. It’s more reverse harem shoujo with some smut. I could pass on that one, but it wasn’t bad although the art wasn’t great. Overall a 6.

It's funny when the longest reviews are people who didn't like this show, and I admit, when I finished the episodes, I was annoyed that so much was left unfinished. But,that is because the source material is still being written. I'm probably giving this show a pass because I've gone over to reading the manga and I really enjoy it, but nevertheless, I think this is an interesting story.

Initially I hated the main protagonist Yona for being self-indulgent, and whiny, but she *thankfully* matures and decides to not remain weak and a cry-baby.

Yes, it is reverse harem and if you like those, you'll like this ... show. If you want a show to have an ending, though, this isn't going to satisfy you. Think of it like an extended promo trailer for the manga. I suppose if you hate reading manga, you'll be pissed, but I don't mind switching over to finish the story.

While many anime shows I've watched recently seem to be confused about their genre, this story sticks pretty well to its goals. There are well-timed comedic moments as well as romance and drama without the story taking itself *too* seriously.

I wish this had been better.

The premise sounded interesting, but I kept waiting for it to get better... and it never really did.

I felt like this anime never knew what it wanted to be. The comedy wasn't funny enough, the drama wasn't dramatic enough, the romance wasn't passionate enough. I think it tried to be too many things and failed at everything.

I'm not a fan of slice-of-life animes. In and of themselves, they're usually pretty boring and I felt at moments that this was trying to be one. *Yuki's just your average high school girl, trying to play by the rules and never let ... her secret crush know the truth.*

Apparently this is a problem with the source material as well, but I wanted the relationship to develop more between Yuki and Zero. I felt like it needed to in order to make it feel more bitter-sweet during the ending of Season 2.

I wanted to like Yuki, again the premise of her character seemed cool, but it just never delivered. Her character seemed COMPLETELY out of place the entire time. Like I said earlier, it felt more like she belonged in a slice-of-life anime. The other characters, however, made up for her problems, which is why I gave this a 6 instead of a 5.

The comic relief of the Headmaster never landed for me - again, out of place.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, but I was super bored when I watched it and didn't totally hate it after finishing.

The story and mystery are the reason I kept going.

Both the best and worst thing about this Manga is that it is still ongoing.

The benefit of this is that it keeps developing so well and this is my favorite story arc of any manga I have ever read. For me, it competes with some great novels' storyarcs.

At no point did I feel like the story had throw-away scenes or repetition of the same old problems.

Just when I think the story is going to end because some conflict is resolved, another one pops up.
And while this Manga isn't really billed as a mystery, it probably should be due ... to all of the backstories and drama that pop up for the characters. I love how this manga was able to create so much anticipation in a scene with just some drawings and dialogue.

I have read everything published to date (Up to the March 2017 release) and I suspect this manga won't be wrapped up until AT LEAST 5 more years (2022) at the current rate of story telling, which is why I say the manga still ongoing is one of the worst parts.

I know some people complained about having started it and then having to wait the 6 months between volume releases, but I'm looking forward to getting to re-read the story in anticipation of each release. I hate re-reading or rewatching things, but that is how much I love this story.

I also love the character development.

Because the characters and stories are so great, I didn't really care about how good the art was, but there were a few points where I couldn't really tell what the image was.

Overall, favorite anime/manga to date and I'm sooooooo sad I'm going to have to wait several years for the resolution, but I'm glad they don't rush this story either.
