This is one of the most confusing pieces of media that I have ever consumed, to the point where I don't know if I like it or not. On one hand, I have character stickers on my laptop and desk. On the other hand, I rage-quit reading the manga several times in the span of one year because I kept getting so angry at all the decisions that the characters kept making.
Takemichi... unlike most people, I don't think he's a bad MC for crying or being scared, because that's pretty much the most realistic response to all the insanity that happens on this thing.
...
However, I think he makes the poorest decisions known to mankind.
The problem with this story is that it uses time travel as a plot device that never actually goes anywhere. Why even have a character be able to time travel when you're going to solve every issue with a gang fight? Also, am I supposed to believe these are teenagers? Because that has to be satire. Teenagers don't look like that. Where are their parents? Why has no one told them they can just play Mario Kart and go to therapy?
And do not even get me started on the final arc. I close my eyes and pretend I don't see it.
Basically, don't ask me if I would recommend this manga to anyone because I don't know. I'm mad and tired and confused.

Yes, I'm giving this a 10 even though I am only at episode three, sue me. This show was created for me, specifically, as it caters to my every need, and it features all my preferred tropes, and I will not be accepting criticism.
Tropes: spies, hit men, taking care of a child that isn't yours (does that even have a name), non-traditional family dynamics, slice of life, adult cast, adorable little kid, friends to lovers maybe I'm hoping.
I haven't actually watched Spy x Family yet, so I won't be drawing any comparisons between the two, as most everyone else seems to be doing. Instead,
...
I will give you succint, bulleted points about why this show is my favourite thing happening in my life right now:
-- First, there is a 4 year old child who behaves like a 4 year old child would. Take it from someone who teaches Italian at a school and has to deal with children aged 4-12 every day of the week, I know what four year olds are like. They're loud, they're a little annoying at times, they can talk your ear off about literally everything, they tell you every thought that crosses their mind, and they fall in love with you immediately if you treat them with kindness.
-- The creator talked about how they wanted to make a story about a modern family that is not bound by societal rules, and I do think this show nailed it. We have a little girl in need of loving, caring parents who do more for her than provide her basic necessities, and we have two adults who enter a sort of shared-custory, shared-guardianship, little house on the prairie situation with her. The said adults are two grown men who are not involved in a romantic sense (yet, hopefully that changes).
-- The show is surprisingly action-filled for what would otherwise fit the bill of a slice of life, because the main characters are actually hit men. So that's nice.
-- Rei, one of the characters, is a gremlin emo man 90% of the time, until he has to work, then he wears suits and puts his hair in a ponytail and we see he has an undercut. Otherwise, he does little more than sleep, play videogames, smoke, watch TV, eat junk food, and pretend he doesn't adore Miri.
-- Kazuki is the sunshine malewife of the century who does the cooking and the cleaning and wholeheartedly adores Miri.
-- They are the perfect ship dynamic and I love them.
-- Not really all that relevant perhaps, but at the very end of the ending, we see a shot of them asleep on the couch with the trans flag as their wallpaper. So do with that as you will.
-- The show has its heartwarming moments, as well as sad, moodier undertones. Especially when we learn about Miri's previous home life, although she doesn't appear to have been abused or neglected.
Overall, I recommend this show to anyone that is a clone of me and my tastes. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

I won't bore anyone with the details as to why I didn't enjoy this show, because frankly there are many and I don't want to lose my time. All I will say are the following bullet-points, and everyone can decide for themselves if they wish to give this show a chance or not:
1. The MC is an Ajin, an immortal being. He's also, I believe since I dropped this anime before we got any specifics, a sociopath. He's definitely an a**hole. He's a very cold and manipulative teenager, that's for sure.
2. Main villain, Satou, was perhaps the only enjoyable character in my eyes.
3. Many death
...
scenes, felt like tortureporn at times.
4. We could've had a great friendship dynamic between Kei and Kai, or even with the other Ajin kid, but no.
5. This is what Tokyo Ghoul wanted to be, except they both sucked at it.

After putting off watching this movie for so long, I finally gave it a shot. The animation was good, far better than I expected, and the storyline itself was also really fun to watch. I am a big fan of this setup, and while it did not make me cry like many of my friends said it would, it was still very emotional. The art style was great, especially the battle scenes, and I liked the character growth they gave Yuta, Maki's backstory, and Panda and Toge's presence was awesome too. I think this movie would be a fun watch for everyone, even if they
...
aren't 100% familiar with the manga or the anime (as am I), and of course, the emotional aspects were a bonus to the action and worldbuilding.

I remember watching the first couple of episodes after it first aired and liking it, but as usual, my attention span quickly switched focus and I never finished it. This year, I remembered it and decided to include it in my MAL 2022 challenge. And that's honestly the only reason I finished this in the first place.
The problem with Hamatora, in my opinion, is that it's too fast. Some episodes in particular feel far too rushed for a show that's 12 episodes long, with forced background stories and random emotional moments that feel entirely out of left field. The characters are fine, not perfect nor
...
legendary but they're not boring either, and the animation is nice. The overall plot is okay, too, if only they had taken their time with it. I don't think I will be watching season 2, either.

i am honestly convinced that the people who shit on this anime simply hate fun and good things because GIRLL THIS IS GOOD IT´S FUN IT'S ENTERTAINING THE ANIMATION IS AMAZING THE FIGHT SCENES ARE AMAZING THE CHARACTERS ARE SO LOVABLE!!
i specially adore tanjirou, i don't care if he somehow fits the shounen protag stereotype (he does, but in my opinion he is a little different as well, but i won't get into it), this boy right here has a heart of GOLD and i love him. and zenitsu honestly being such a powerful fighter is my hero origin story, he's so relatable in his

As a manga reader and long time fan of this franchise, I have to say I was severely disappointed by this season. The pacing was all over the place, for starters: the first arc dragged on endlessly, then they blew through the Todoroki family arc, then we got one (1) backstory episode/character development moment for Aizawa and Hizashi, and then we got to what must be the most interesting part, the MVA arc, only for it to suck as well.
Personally, the tone shifts threw me off. I think that the A vs B arc could've been cut in half (in the manga, this part is
...
only a couple of chapters long) and they couldn't taken their time fleshing out the Keeping up with the Todorokis arc, as well as really driven through the emotional aspect of Shigaraki's past.
I won't rant about this here since I have done that plenty with my friends, but I will say that I sincerely hope that season six is better than this, especially considering which arcs are to come.

I just finished watching this show, it took me three days because, well, as a certified senior citizen of 21 years old, I can't pull a marathon the way I used to when I was in high school >.< but I think that taking my time with this show was the right thing to do, after all.
First, story wise, I think the show was okay. There isn't really any big or life changing plot, it's exactly as how it's advertised: a story about skating, and skaters, and about friendship, too. I think what really bothered me was how unrealistic it felt, since many of the
...
stunts they pulled should've landed them in the hospital. And yes, I know, many animes are unrealistic in terms of injuries, but that won't stop me from pointing it out!!
As for the characters, many of them were one-dimensional, and there wasn't a single important female character. Adam and Reki were the most interesting ones, because their character arcs were more fleshed out than the others, and personally, I would like to see more of the others. I think that Adam in particular is a very interesting character, and I would have loved to see more about his dynamics with Joe, Cherry, and Tadashi.
Moving on to the fanservice, this show was full of it, and I'm not complaining. As a queer person myself, there were many instances where I had to pause and ask myself, "Is this fruity??" only for them to flake out. Seriously, there were so many moments between Reki and Langa that were just... very homo, in my humble opinion.
To sum it up, I thought this show was enjoyable. It was fun, and it kept me entertained, and I think that a second season would be nice but only if they were to expand on the characters and send Adam to prison. That would be fun to watch.

I'm giving this an overall 10 because this is one of my favourite adaptations I've seen. The art was beautiful and I loved how they stuck to the original, yet somehow managed to cram two different arcs into 11 episodes! TGCF is my favourite c-novel and I was so pumped to watch this, I'm very happy I can say it didn't disappoint!
I think my only "complaint" would be that Hua Cheng's animation isn't all that different to San Lang... I feel like the manhua might take the cake on that! But otherwise it was amazing! My favourite part would have to be the way
...
the music changes when Fu Yao and Nan Feng enter the scene, it's like they have to announce to the audience that the clowns have entered the circus. I love that.

I decided to watch this show on a whim after seeing a lot of people talking about it on Twitter, and I will admit that at first I didn't know what to make of it. Keep in mind, at the time of writing this review I haven't read the manga, so my opinion is on the anime only.
For starters, for a bit there I felt like the pacing was all over the place. A few things were resolved quickly, while others were slower. And, to be honest, I think half of the issues on this show could've been resolved a lot quicker if someone would've
...
had a gun. Sans the last episode, I hate he did have a gun then.
Also, this show will go great lengths to make you forget the characters are (mostly) kids. Like, Takemichi is 14!! I'm not forgetting these are just high schoolers on steroids!! But you can try!!
Emotions wise, I liked how they dealt with the situations. Takemichi in particular was really well in that regard, especially when we see the lasting effects of all he went through at the beginning. I liked how, even after all the things he does right, he still felt like a failure, because it goes to show how PTSD will fuck up your perception of things. He still felt like the scared, defenseless child he was at first, and I thought that was very realistic.
The show also manages to make you emotionally invested in the characters, which is a plus. The characters are engaging and entertaining, and I really liked them.
As for design/art, it wasn't out of this world, but it was still good. There were moments during fights where the audio was surprisingly realistic, too.
Overall, I gave this an 8/10 because I liked it, it was entertaining, engaging, fun, and the cliffhanger was definitely cool! My only complaints were, as I mentioned above, the lack of guns and common sense. Seriously, why did no one ever think of calling the police?
