For a one-shot following the end of Death Note's chaotic story, Death Note: Tokubetsu Yomikiri highlights the mentality and decisions of yet another student who encounters the dangerous book; however, such actions are heavily affected by the knowledge of Kira and the aftermath. Set in a more modern society with a pretty funny cameo, it was still a little difficult to get invested too much in the main character.
