This will be a short piece on my own opinion about this show. P.A Works has produced many original works in the past, like Charlotte, Angel Beats, and others. To start off, the art and music were splendid, the only true "good" things about this show. The music is catchy and enjoyable, and P.A Works never disappoints with their animation. Now, the worst part of this show is the story. I really wanted to like and understand the show, but with the horrendous writing, it was impossible. With an unexplained supernatural aspect, and pointless drama, love triangles and of the sorts. This just continuously takes
...
away from each episode. As there always will be some pointless drama caused by simple reasons. I thought that you couldn't screw up writing a slice-of-life show, but Glasslip really surprised me. Characters, what can I say, a mysterious transfer student comes into a group of friends. Strange things began to happen, can't get more generic than that. Using generic character archetypes are fine, but trying to pretend that there was any meaningful character development is pointless and just plain deceptive in nature. There was really nothing interesting with anyone except the transfer student, and that's because we don't know a whole lot about him. We get some clues, and the show tries to give hints, but the execution of this is terrible and it would of just been better to explain upfront what's going on. I personally still found enjoyment in this show however, as the confusion and urge to try to understand what was going on motivated me to keep watching to the end. I have to say that it was a waste of time, as nothing really happened. If your a fan of slice-of-life, this might be a show to watch, but as there are thousands of others, this is something that should just be simply ignored.

This show is very polarizing and controversial in nature, which has made it subjected to hatred and praise. It is what I call, what revolutionized the "little sister" stereotype in anime, it was not the first, but it was probably one of the biggest influencers. Looking at all the reviews for this show, it is widely excepted that this is not a masterpiece, certainly not, so why I have not started bashing this work. Let me explain, this show is basically a slice-of-life romance comedy, with some drama, harem, and "incest" mixed into one. I personally found that this show had some good and bad
...
points. Not certainly deserving of the hatred it has received, but isn't as good from the praise. Lets analyze every aspect of this show, and than I will explain my opinion.
Story: 5 - This is a 5, which means that the story was mediocre. Watching this show made me realize, this has very inconsistent writing. The themes and subject matter that each episode tries to touch on have a varying effect on me. From finding it interesting because of character development, or complete boredom from the waste of time. The plot isn't complicated or hard to understand. It is just not deeply layered or well though out enough to make it deserve a higher score.
Art: 6 - This show has solid art, nothing like Kyoto or P.A Works. But it's visually pleasing, and isn't really anything to complain about.
Sound: 5 - The music is fine, it fits with the show, nothing more and nothing less.
Character: 7 - The characters were actually very decent, with pretty great backstories to help develop most of the cast of characters. Some were done better than others, but it helps you to understand the motivations and actions of the characters. The characters were also one of the best parts of this show. It made me laugh a lot! Which is hard to say for newer shows today. It also liked to comment on otaku culture and referenced akihabara. Which was something I didn't see as much during that time.
Enjoyment: 8 - I personally found this show really funny and hilarious. I get it, some jokes get really old. But the character interactions are actually really great. I watched this show personally because it was hated on so much. I was curious, and while I understand the severe criticisms. I believe that it is overused and people just like to ride on it. I didn't watch this show for the romance. If you did, than you might be disappointed as it the progression of the relationship is a bit forced. Nonetheless, it's a funny show.
Overall: 6 - This is a fairly mediocre show, with controversy and its polarizing topic bringing it to the spotlight. It revolutionized the "little sister" genre of anime. Bringing incest in as a focal point of the show, which was actually unusual for its time. People shouldn't really watch this show because of the romance. The relationship progression is quite forced and unnatural, which can disappoint people. The great points of this show are the character interactions, which are really funny. This is mostly a comedy with some weird things happening once in awhile. If you have an open-mind and can stand incest, this is a fine watch.

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan or Our Happy Time is a tale of how a death row inmate and a former pianist, who both lost the will to live. Form a bond that helps them move on from their past pain and struggles. It is a story that I find very overrated, which is not a bad thing. I just think that people have a very biased opinion on this work, and will not respond to criticism well. This will be my unbiased, subjective opinion on each aspect of this manga.
Story: 6 - The story for this manga was executed well in 8 chapters, which
...
is very impressive in itself. However, there are some inherent flaws with the story, with the pacing being the first issue. I get it, it was only 8 chapters, but a longer stretched series might of had more of the developmental and progressive details of the story be fleshed out more. Also, as a fan of the romance genre, I found this story to be a bit underwhelming. The dialogue between the two main characters set up their relationship to be more of a close friendship. Does sharing personal past tragedies make a man and woman fall in love together. Well, I can't really answer that, but the execution of this story makes the reader question this, so this fails in that sense.
Art: 7 - The art was fairly done well in this series, it wasn't spectacular. But very pleasing to look at, so it looks fine.
Character: 5 - This was where I was truly disappointed. The characters could have been so much more, but the author really didn't go deep enough. We got two past tragic stories with the main characters, and they were a bit generic but enough to get you attached in this short story. This manga basically outlines a huge detail with a backstory of a character, and slowly peels off the details behind what they shown through the progression of the series. It was executed fine, but they could have delved into their characters backstories a little more. Also, does sharing past tragedies make you fall in love. This relationship to me seemed more of a close friendship with strange circumstances. But the ending, it was probably not what readers wanted. I found it really realistic however, as this bond formed by these two helped them move on with life, sort of, (readers know what I'm talking about)
Overall: 6 - This is a short read, so maybe 30 minutes at most. You may reread this manga, or just be able to hold a discussion about it. It's a sweet story about two people with strange circumstances who help move on from their pain through their strong bond. It's sad, but sweet at the same time. It's a great read for people who are okay with bitter-sweet endings.

From the producer of "Your Name", he brings you Fireworks, or Uchiage Hanabi, Shita kara Miru ka? Yoko kara Miru ka?
This is a film, that is not the next "Your Name". This is a separate work, so we should respect it individually and not judge it based on Your Name. Which I doubt other films could surpass. I admit, I was intrigued by this film, it had an interesting trailer which grabbed my interest. But there were also many reviews that discouraged people to watch this film, so I was also curious. I now watched this film, and I will give you my share.
Story:
...
5 - I'm going to first touch on this story. Please don't get the wrong idea when I give it a 5, it means that it was mediocre, which means it is not good or bad. Many reviews say that that the story was hard to understand and follow. I understand where they are coming from, but this is a film that wasn't really going to utilize its plot as much to drive the film. "Actions speak louder than words" is what I believe it was going for. It assumes the viewer gets the basic premise, and builds the film from there. Was it the best to try to tell a story about a romance, with supernatural time travel elements that question your fate or destiny. Its quite a concept that should have been fleshed out and polished more. I'm not going to judge heavily on the story, as it still told what it wanted to convey. But it made the viewer make assumptions when trying to understand the film, so that is a great failure in itself. Its sadly a work that could have potentially had a better story.
Art: 10 - Amazing, Just Beautiful, Still Holds Up In 2019
Sound: 9 - Also Amazing, Fits Very Well With The Atmosphere
Characters: 4 - Most who have already watched the film would probably disagree with the score I've given. The characters weren't especially terrible, but as I said with the story. You sort of have to make assumptions to understand the characters motivations. It's not especially to understand the main heroine, as you can see her family life and own personal feelings. But this should have been fleshed out more, or maybe executed a little better. Even our main male protagonist, we really don't understand who he is as a person. All we know is that he is willing to help friends, which is an anime stereotype in itself. The romance too, it wasn't terrible, I have seen better. But for a film, it wasn't that bad. It just felt too forced in a way, but at the same time. Most films are like this. The characters fail because of weak writing, but there is just enough to be fleshed out for the film to progress.
Enjoyment: 8 - I'm an avid anime watcher, who likes to watch movies and series. Romance is a genre that I enjoy, so of course, because I watched "Your Name", this would interest me. I'm an open-minded viewer, who doesn't heavily critique things unless I have to review them. Heck, I actually like Firerworks, but personal bias cannot influence the facts. This is not a masterpiece, nor a even mediocre work. This is a romance film with supernatural elements all wrapped up together. It's something like "The Girl Who Jumped Through Time", which for people who like Fireworks. Could be your next anime to watch right now. It's a very polarizing work, so I can't really say what specific group would enjoy this work.
Overall: 6 - It's a work that has beautiful art and music. But has a story and character development that is a bit disappointing, which in turn sort of balances the art and music. It's a polarizing work indeed, which means I can't define a certain group who will enjoy this film. But for people with an open-mind, I encourage or at least tell you. To go give this film a chance, and don't judge it from "Your Name". As it could give you a false impression, or put immense pressure over this film, which is just cruel.

This series is one of many that are released on Netflix. It was an interesting watch, so here is my point of view on it.
Story: 6 - A 6 is considered fair on this site, and this is what this anime deserved. It had an interesting, but overused premise, a girl who is the key to saving the world. This is actually a really generalized description of the story, but it's quite accurate. We've seen many shows with this sort of premise. Any fan would know what I'm talking about. But this show did it decent enough, it isn't anything revolutionary, but done well enough
...
to be understood. The story is fairly understandable, with reasonable development throughout the series. The pacing is a bit wavy at times, but it isn't anything to really touch on. The story to this show is fairly okay, which is something that I really can't say for most anime today.
Art: 7 - The art in this show is really good. The character designs might have been repetitive in some regards. But overall, the design of the suits, weapons, monsters, and technology were done very well.
Sound: 6 - You know, I really didn't notice the music during my time watching this show. It blends well in the background and sounds fairly decent. But it's nothing spectacular.
Character: 6 - The characters in this show are one of the weakest points of the show. The main character is...…….. You know, she is one of those protagonists that rely on a male character to save her. Also, Spoilers By The Way. There is an implied, or confirmed?, romantic or mutual feeling between the male character, who is like in middle school, and a boy. Who is actually an adult male, Yeah this gets weird. There was some good character development from the sides during the show. But there was also unnecessary drama and tension which only just brings this show down. However, the conclusion was fulfilling enough.
Overall, A.I.C.O is that show you could easily binge on a school night or Sunday Morning. It isn't highly memorable, but at the same time. It isn't inherently terrible. It's just a simple show that progresses its story. If you are a patient viewer or are open-minded. This could be a great show to watch when taking a break from the more important shows released.

I've watched many anime's that delve into the theme of "what it means to be human". From Plastic Memories, Chobits, Time of Eve, and several others. They all have this high-tech or futuristic society with robots exhibiting human emotion.
"Spoilers"
With Hal, this was a very reminiscent feeling, but at the same time, Hal was a bit unique. It's a movie or story about a woman that has lost her fiancee or boyfriend, or does she? A robot is sent to her that resembles her dead fiance, Hal. Throughout the film, the relationship between Hal and the woman progresses. With the woman growing closer to the
...
robot, it just seems too good to be true. Which it is, but that's about how far I will spoil this work for you.
Art: 9 - Beautiful, Stunning Artwork
Sound: 7 - Music that is able to blend with the beautiful artwork and setting
Character: 6 - This is where I get a bit critical. This film has a great premise, and a concept that was very intriguing. The characters in this film were portrayed well enough for an hour. But this was a concept that was built for an episodic-type of anime series. Maybe one 20-plus season, or a two season anime would have fleshed out this relationship between Hal and the women a little more. But nonetheless, the progression of the relationship was a bit forced. I thought that the women felt comfortable with Hal a lot quicker than normal. Also, there was this bit of a backstory with Hal and how he was in some sort-of child labor industry. I would of loved to learn more about this, but it wasn't mentioned in a major way for the resto of the film. Overall, the characters are fairly developed in this film, but potential was wasted for a series.
Story: 7 - The story was laid out in a way that I could call problematic but at the same time, masterful? This premise of the film, it was misleading. I won't spoil, but this twist in the middle to end of this film is something that isn't quite obvious. It turns this film from a light-hearted, melodramatic tale of a love blossoming between a heartbroken women and a lookalike machine, to a somewhat tragic, dark but hopeful, and powerful film about how a tragedy could mold a persons mental state, and how to find the strength to move on with your life. It only had one hour to fit this all in, which is the major issue for me. This potentially could have been possibly the next Clannad or something of that caliber. This was such an intriguing concept. I won't go as far to call this a waste or terrible work. Because it isn't, but it's a potentially amazing concept that is somewhat decent, but stunted from it's full potential.
Overal: 7 - This is a film I would recommend to people who like watching depressing stuff. Just kidding, but really, people who like happy or light hearted romance anime should stay away from this. But to viewers like me who like to watch anything or just the romance genre, this is definetly a film to watch. However, don't look at this film with an objective lense. Because it is still a flawed piece of work, with issues stemming from the story and character development. But nonetheless, it still has beautiful art and sound. So even if this is a mixed bag to most, I would recommend it to anyone willing to give it a chance.

This is going to be a short review, but it's what I consider my opinion on Kimi no Na wa or Your Name. To start off, it was great. One of the greatest achievements by Makoto Shinkai for sure.
Art: 10 - Beautiful, One of the Best in 2016 and still holds up now in 2018.
Sound: 10 - Beautiful music throughout, helped to encapsulate the emotions from each scene.
Enjoyment: 10 - Loved it
Now, let me get critical on this film. I gave it a 7, which means it was undoubtly good. Remember, I'm not saying it's bad, but I'm also not saying it's a Masterpiece.
...
In my opinion, it had an enjoyabe story. It kept you at the edge of your seat, and in the end. I applaud it for it's abillity to carry this film with the incredible art and music. But it's not without it's faults. Some of the supernatural aspects were used well, but they sort of weren't explained cleary enough. However, even with this lack of understanding, the film was able to potray the supernatural elements in a way that it just works.
Character: 6 - Don't get me wrong, I love the dynamic of the characters. They have undoubtable chemistry, and it's a big part of the film. Now, why did I give it a 6, which means I thought the characters were fairly done well. The romance felt natural, but also forced in a way. I mean I understand they learned more about each other for a long time, but does this result in romance. I find it cute, and I'm happy for the ending. But it seems Makoto Shinaki added the romance in for the sake of it. Not protesting though.
Overall: 7 - I enjoyed this film, and recommend it to the people who enjoyed Makoto Shinkai's previous works, and people who are looking for a new film or anime to watch.

P.A. Works, a studio that is synonymous with shows that have Slice of Life and Drama mixed together. True Tears, Angel Beats, Charlotte, Shirobako, and many more are a few examples. Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara, was a show that I was excited for, and it ended in a way that I can only consider as fulfilling but tragic at the same time.
Story: 5 - To be honest, it was just a slice-of-life show. Drama was mixed in the episodes, not directly, but just subtle enough for the average viewer to sense jealousy. There was a foundation to the story, which was to build
...
the characters and the world. More so the characters, but it was decently executed, which is why I have it a mediocre score.
Art: 9 - THIS, is the one of the best aspects of the show, WOW, P.A. Works never dissapoints in the animation department for sure. The fireworks, vibrancy in the world, and character designs are top notch. I would consider this one of the best animated shows of this year.
Sound: 10 - AMAZING OPENING, It's really opening
Character: 6 - This is part of the show where I have to nitpick. The characters were developed fairly well for 13 episodes. The introduction to them was comedic in a sense, and the groups dynamic was done in a way where you weren't truly bored waiting for anything to happen. The main heroine though, she was what I would call a Violet Evergarden copy. What do I mean by this, the show is about a girl finding her purpose in life. Our main heroine can't see color, which makes her lack any motivation in her current life, so she was sent to the past, to find her purpose. If any of you have watched Violet Evergarden, it's quite obvious where I'm going with this. Violet however, it's executed in short but intertwined stories that help develop Violet. So what I'm trying to say is, the main heroine at the end. It was a hopeful ending, I know we didn't want it. But with the time travel aspect added into the show, it was to be expected.
Overall: 7 - I had an okay experience with this show. I was drawn in from the beautiful animation, and because of this. I watched this entire show, which didn't dissapoint me at all. For fans who enjoy Violet Evergarden, this is certainly a must watch.

To be honest, this anime was a good watch for me. It's premise was somewhat original, but probably not completely. Was it a masterpiece, NO, but it was a show that was enjoyable to watch.
Story: 5
I gave the story a 6 because the plot was understandable, but it was rushed. They did try to develop and progress the plot. But in 13 episodes, I really don't think they had enough time or budget. If they did, this potentially could've been an amazing 20 episode-plus anime.
Art: 8
Great animation, all I have to say.
...
Sound: 7
The songs in Charlotte were good, just the English was a bit of a cringe fest for me.
Character: 7
Charlotte was able to flush out their characters very well. You got to know each of them, and it was fun to see how they interact. But, I would have to say that I would of liked to see the side characters flushed out more. Maybe with their personal relationships or something of that sort.
Enjoyment: 4
For me, I honestly enjoyed watching this anime. It was funny, serious, but also enjoyable. Man though, that last episode and ending. What were they thinking? Even if they couldn't have more episodes, at least have a second season. They rushed the last episode, ruining the chance of this anime becoming something more. But to be fair, they were able to somewhat produce the last episode in a way. That you were still able to understand what was going on. Charlotte was enjoyable, minus the ending.
Overall: 5
This is an anime that I would have to say is enjoyable, but a great dissapointment. This is a show that if your a simple viewer like me, you'll enjoy this show mostly. But for the more analytical viewer, this may be a dissapointment, or a bad show. If you're fine with less than satsifying endings, this would be perfect or you. In my opinion, give it a chance.
