Violence, body horror, and hot women with giant swords - but there’s more! This adaptation does a really good job staying faithful to what part of the manga it manages to cover, and though I could say so much about the manga, that’s not what this review is about. Claymore is one of those series a person finishes and wants more. Animation is sharp, though unfortunately censors many scenes from the manga that are down right insane. The main protagonist, Claire, is a very refreshing example of the shonen archetype and at times I am almost convinced her character was written by a woman. Women

Psychology horrific and troubling in the best way. Good movie to watch if like a horror movie that twists your stomach. It is no surprise that this movie would later go on to inspire Black Swan. Captures the stress of attention and fame, as well as good foresight into the dangers of the internet. Building tension between the main character and audience and the boundary between fantasy, reality, and justice are blurred to near incomprehension.
