The fact that this promising work has no reviews compelled me to make an account and write one. To put it frankly, I want this work to be read. I recommend it.
Make a Wish! DaXi is 4 chapters in and publishing started in 2011 so I am not sure if it will continue. I first saw Ke Li's potential from her other work, Lovely Everywhere, which was quite enjoyable.
But Make a Wish! Daxi truly moved me the way good shoujo does, and that too in 4 chapters with very little hint of romance.

paced and leaves a reader wanting more. Though classified as a romance, the romance is still nearly nil. Though the characters are teenagers, it doesn't revolve around school and home life and misunderstandings and romantic longings and deliberations. The plot is not interrupted by contrived misunderstandings or over- considerations between characters. This story has unmistakable potential, especially with the dash of the supernatural.
Art: 9/10
The art is clean, simple but encompassing, with attention seeming to be paid to the characters over the environment. Expressions on the character's faces, body language, etc is detailed perfectly. Purely from a personal standpoint- even if a story is spectacular, I often do not even consider reading if the art is messy or frequently drawn in a boxy way. The art by this artist is what initially caught my eye, since it is exactly to my taste.
Characters: 9/10
Possibly, the characters are are the best part of this work. Unique and rounded as they are, the potential for development is obvious.
Daxi initially seems like a typical emo boy who is out to make trouble for trouble's sake but he is surprisingly thoughtful. He has a heavy conscience and is selfless to the extreme. He can be rude and hilariously innocent. The story is from his point of view and his inner thoughts are succinctly displayed.
Tianle is a similarly layered character who is at once sunny and childlike and mature and understanding. Unlike many shoujo girls, she doesn't do much inner repetition of every feeling she is having but her feelings become clear from her interactions with others.
Side characters, like the Sensei and Daxi's mother, are not predictable or one dimensional.
The angel seems to be purposely, and cleverly, left as a bit of an enigma.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The blend of tragedy and humor and friendship and heart makes for a roller coaster of feeling. I greatly enjoyed reading right until the last available page.
Overall: 9/10
As a picky, cynical person who still likes reading shoujo romances, I would wholeheartedly recommend this to a fellow fan. Art is pleasing, characters are multi dimensional and likable, story is unique and heartwarming.
I have deliberately used the words 'promising' and 'potential' a few times because it is clearly a work in progress. And it is going places.
