while im only a few chapters in to 3D kanojo, it seems to have very similar character development to sundome. in both series you have a male lead who isnt used to normal social interactions and much less being flirted with. then a strange female lead that begins flirting with him and taking him out of his comfort zone.

both main characters seem somewhat isolated, but get help from new friends and acquaintances. they are professionals in shogi (3 gatsu)/calligraphy (barakamon)

has a very similar vibe. same old country setting. although the characters are not much alike, and there is magic in Maoyuu, and not much in spice and wolf
