Watching Shiny Colors is like eating a sandwich you hastily put together, forgetting to put any substance in it. That's not to say there's nothing here - there definitely is, it's just incredibly bland.
The main problem with this show is it tries to deviate from the tried and tested formula of the IDOLM@STER anime series. The magic of the industry: the drama, perils, laughter, and sorrow, is swapped for a slice-of-life story featuring a new cast preparing for an event. There are no stakes here, as this production agency seems to be rather prosperous (much like Bandai Namco after releasing this).
Now, a slice of
...
life has the opportunity to be something new and different, but the staff have managed to fumble it. Instead of focusing on a small group of characters; it showcases multiple units of them at once. Being only 12 episodes long, and having far more than 12 characters, they can't flesh the characters out sufficiently. This results in a lot of flat characters and boring interactions. Each episode consists of jumpcuts to various groups, throwing you out of the immersion. No girl is properly introduced, and the constant need to show their name cards in the corner of the screen hints at how forgettable they are.
A mediocre scenario isn't helped by the studio blatantly insulting you for your time by offering a "climax" in the form of 48 minutes of performances. I hope you enjoy "Tsubasa Gravity", as you'll be hearing that almost enough to make you mute it. If you're at all familiar with the music channels, you'll feel right at home with Shiny Colors. You'd be better off using it as background music while you do something else (perhaps making a better sandwich).
On the topic of background music, the actual soundtrack of the anime is forgettable. I can't even remember it as I'm writing this. There's an opening which sounds quite good, but the studio forgot to animate any endings. In later episodes, they completely forgot to put an ending song in, which results in you getting depressing piano tracks accompanied by low-budget default credit effects. It feels incredibly lazy and that a lot of corners were cut in producing it.
In the animation department, not much was cooked up. The majority of character designs are unappealing and the background environments are generic. It looked incredibly disappointing compared to the previous 3DCG IM@S anime with vibrant movements. A lot of scenes in Shiny Colors were replaced with montages consisting of static shots or reused animation.
This may seem all doom and gloom, but if you note my rating there isn't all bad with this show. After all, an idol anime enjoyer is here for the idols and their music, right? Rest assured you will have your fill of IDOLM@STER idolness. The songs are as good as ever, and if you're a fan of the characters (I sadly only recognised 2-3 of them), you'll be more at home with it. However if you're not a fan, I can't possibly recommend this to you. I believe that, much like myself, you'll be bored to tears.

C-Station continues to bring us more wholesome fun with these Yuru Camp specials.
Whilst shorter than the three that released with season one, the episodes were still fun to watch. The soundtrack and art are still great, and there was some pretty funny moments. As for the story, it was just 2 short stories, similar to a Heya Camp episode. There are no spoilers for the series in them and they are not connected to anything. I was hoping for a third episode, but seeing as season 2 was 13 episodes (compared to 12 on season 1) and a movie is coming soon it makes sense.
Overall,
...
it was enjoyable and seeing as it'll take up less than 10 minutes of your time I can highly recommend this to everyone who liked the other entries in the series.

Today I review the anime responsible for some of the latest memes.
Story - 7
The story is nice, but the characters spend an awful lot of time in their heads meaning that sometimes there isn't much progression story-wise. This is also a pain watching it subbed (a lot of fast moving text).
Art - 9
Holy sh*t. It's not often in anime (and even less so in TV) I see unique, smooth animations and unconventional character designs. It looks amazing. My rating is hindered however by the usual consistency drops we see in most TV anime.
Sound - 8
I wasn't fond of the opening at first, but it grew
...
on me. Especially after Crunchyroll released their behind the scenes video of it (well worth a watch!). The OST is interesting, and the ED reminds me a of Eve.
Character - 8
Each character is unique, no two are the same. This is shown well during the OP.
Enjoyment - 8
One of my favourite shows this season.
Overall - 8
Currently an 8, might go higher.

Originally, I didn't want to watch this, but after picking it up I can safely say it's one of my favourites this season.
Story - 8
I love the way each episode (or sometimes two, depending on parts) cover an "apparition" each. It's exciting and interesting.
Art - 7
Sadly, this is where we hit a disappointment. The art and shading is excellent, but the animation is almost like watching a motion comic. Tons of still shots, hardly any frames. I'd like to go to Lerche HQ and ask them "What were you thinking?!". However, my Art score stays at a 7 because it didn't really detract from the
...
watching experience.
Sound - 8
Very nice OP. ED is cool also. The OST is also nice.
Character - 8
The characters are unique and enjoyable.
Enjoyment - 8
As I stated at the start, one of my favourites this season.
Overall - 8
If you are interested in apparitions, Lerche or toilets then this anime won't disappoint. Well worth picking up.

I've been holding off giving something a 10 (Masterpiece) rating since I joined MAL back in 2017. This time, however, I think I have found a piece worthy of it.
Introducing Tonari no Totoro, known as My Neighbor Totoro in English is an absolute joy of a film. Please note that I am reviewing this as the Japanese dub, not the Fox or Disney English dubs. I'm making sure to keep this completely spoiler-free.
Story - 9
Although it isn't action-packed like the anime I usually watch, it is still interesting and does its job. You won't get bored.
Art - 10
The artwork and animation are absolutely fantastic. Luscious
...
environments and silky-smooth animation that still holds up well in 2020. The character designs are great too and also hold up.
Sound - 10
Joe Hisaishi has done an excellent job. The music fits and sounds beautiful. The opening and ending themes are also suitably catchy in that 80s kind of way. I highly recommend to watch the Budokan performance of "Tonari no Totoro", it's stunning to see the song in orchestra. The voice acting and sound effects are also well done.
Character - 10
Totoro and Nekobasu are absolute genius, I can finally fill my "Favorite Characters" section on my profile. You need to see them to believe it. The rest of the cast are also pleasant and not irritating. I can't really explain more without spoiling, sorry.
Enjoyment - 9
One of the best films I've ever seen, hands down.
Overall - 10
I recommend this to everyone and I mean everyone. Don't be put off by its rating, this is enjoyment for all ages.

Trigger enters the movie industry with a BANG! Went to see this at the cinema and the time waiting was definitely worth it.
Story - 8
You don't need to be a scientist to understand it, but it's interesting and keeps you hooked, if slightly confusing at times. However, it's non-stop action so to keep it that way I guess they cut things out for a reason.
Art - 9
The artwork has the same distinct Trigger style, and although it is CGI-heavy Sanzigen did amazing work on it; it's very unique.
Sound - 9
Hiroyuki Sawano did an excellent job on the soundtrack. The other songs were great too,
...
my favourite being the Superfly song from the credits.
Character - 8
I see the Kill la Kill references...if you're a fan of that show you will know what I mean.
Enjoyment - 8
It was great fun! Didn't feel boring at all, even though it is fairly long racking up at nearly 2 hours.
Overall - 8
If you like Trigger and/or works by Imaishi, go watch this now. You won't regret it.

Ah yes, Azur Lane. The popular mobile game now has an anime adaptation. Now, I'm not particularly a fan of the game but I went into this with a fair judgement.
Story - 3
The story, well, to put it short: it's bad. There's a very rushed intro scene where they attempted to cram the entire backstory into like, 15 minutes. This makes viewers who are not hardcore fans of the game confused about what's going on. The plot onwards on goes here, there and everywhere. For a game about battling this anime sure as hell doesn't have a lot of it; most of it consists of
...
fanservice (some of it quite frankly disgusting) with a very small portion of action.
Art - 6
When it shines, it looks great. Backgrounds are colourful and the cast look great. However, for Bibury's first show, there sure as hell is a load of budget cuts. After episode 1 the animation quality plummets massively. Very clear shots where the characters have a blank face, weird choppy movements and an overuse of poorly done CGI make what was decent art unenjoyable to look at. Then again, if you don't mind a few large drops here and there you won't really notice this.
Sound - 5
Nothing special here. Opening is catchy.
Character - 6
The characters are varied, although there is practically no backstory shown, and they look nice. That's about it.
Enjoyment - 4
Now, I thought episode 1 was pretty sick. The opening is a jam and the action was pretty cool. Episodes 2-4 were boring. Episode 3's fanservice on the beach scene made me feel sick.
Overall - 5
If you're a fan of the game, and don't mind a lot of ecchi content, watch it. If not, I advise you to steer clear of this show.
(This is my first review here, apologies if I made any mistakes.)
