In my opinion 07-Ghost is a chore to watch. Everything about this show is slow & boring. The dialogue, the plot, the action; none of it resonated with me. Most of the characters are boring & lame and the ones that aren’t are quite uninspired. The most glaring example of this is the MC Teito Klein. Dude just sits around sulking all day over his friend. Naruto cornered the market on that a long time ago. Find another shtick. Which brings me to my next point: this show is pretty gay. Like the show is bursting at the seams with homoerotic overtones. Teito & Mikage but Teito and everyone. I’m not saying that it’s bad but it’s not for me. Now there are people who will like the show for that very reason and in that case I could probably recommend it. However, if you’re looking to watch an action packed sci-fi fantasy series with cool characters flinging lightning bolts and waving giant swords then this isn’t what you’re looking for. This show is very dialogue heavy and it’s all very very trite. And when action does occur it unwinds at a snails pace, though I would be lying if I said there wasn’t a cool fight or two, but most of the time you’re not getting that. Having said all that, perhaps the show gets better after ep.6 but I didn’t want to risk it. I dropped it after 5 for several months then picked it back up to give it another shot and it still wasn’t doing anything for me. On a positive note, the OP & ED are great. So there’s that. Overall, 5/10. Total snooze fest.
